11/22/08 Thanksgiving 2008 cruise thread. Double Dipping Travelling Turkeys!

The NUMBER ONE reason to cruise with us on the 2008 Turkey Cruise:

#1: You don't have to cook and clean for Thanksgiving Dinner or for the WHOLE WEEK!

Hey if we can't laugh, we'll go crazy!! Speaking of which, I'm in the cleaning frenzy with you, our house goes on the market tomorrow!!
Unless I lock the kids in the closet for the next three months, it's going to be an ongoing battle to keep the house "show" ready all the time. For some reason they just don't seem to understand my sense of urgency...maybe because they're kids?? I wonder if I could get one of those velcro walls with the velcro suits and just stick them there after school.

Here's some extra pixie dust to bring good buyers quickly for both of our houses.

Hi Everyone!!

We're going to be joining you on this trip!!! It's too far away right now...but I'm sure it'll be here before we know it!!

Linda and Jason....We're going to be having a mini reunion on this one...a few of the Nov 4th 2006 cruisers will be joining us as well. It's going to be awesome!

Jason...We're trying to get Sara on this trip as well. They're weighing it out right now. ALSO...we should have a contest to finish our trip reports. I haven't even reached Cozumel yet on mine! Tell Karen I said "hi".

Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Welcome Suzy Mouse. Come on in the water is fine!! Wish the cruise wasn't so far away, but at least we'll have some fun on the DIS while we're waiting. We have to work hard to keep our thread on the first couple of pages with all the crazy Repo people (yes I'm only a little jealous) but we try harder!

Hope everyone has a great weekend. We've got both soccer and softball games on Saturday.

I am up early...determined to finish my cruise report from 2/3!! Hopefully the details will come back to me!!

Off to one of our last Ice Hockey tournaments with DS. We go to Buffalo next weekend for the last one! We started the season last August.....not finishing till the end of March....I guess we got our money's worth on this one!!

Anyone have exciting plans for the weekend??

Okay...I only got one more day done...I'm trying!!

Yes! That is where we are going! We're coming up to see if our lil' Southern guys can hold their own up North! We are going to visit the Falls and take a road trip to Toranto to the Hockey Hall of fame! Oh yeah...and play 4 hockey games.....in 3 days

Wow, that's a pretty impressive schedule, Jackie!

Make sure you go over to the Canadian Side of the Falls, much better restaurants and stores (Hershey Store). They also have a Rainforest Cafe, Hard Rock Cafe and Planet Hollywood all within walking distance of each other. You can also check out the difference museums on Clifton Hill!

Let me know if you have any questions about the area or what to see/what not to see...

My friends daughter's play Hockey there... I wonder if you will be playing them? They will be on this cruise too!

Thanks for the free advertising Lorie! Honestly, after reading back some of my report myself....I feel the need to let you all know, I am honestly not as much of a lush as my story implies!!
I hope your house sale is going better than ours...not one looker yet. And of course, the open house for the brokers is the day we leave for Buffalo. Honestly, keeping my house this perfect may drive me insane!

I just wanted to say Hi and say we'll be there too!! We booked a couple weeks ago and its taken me a while to go find this thread. DH and I are traveling with our DD's who will be 5 and 7 then. My parents, DS, and DBIL are coming too. I'm glad to see I'm not the only hyper-planner who is already planning a trip so far in advance!

So, do any of you have connecting Cat 10's on Deck 5 or 7 (5022, 5024, 5522, 5524, 7005, 7007, 7505, or 7507)? The only connecting cat 10's left were on deck 2, which is ok, but I really want SPH or Deck 7. I've been checking 2 or 3 times a day for the last 2 weeks waiting for someone to cancel!! I might make myself crazy if I keep this up for 20 months!!!

We we do have 5522 but not the adjoiner. We are actually in 5020 and BIL and SIL are in 5522.
I hope you get where you want...but anywhere on the ship is bound to be a blast!

Thanks Jackie. That's one set of the 4 I won't count on!! Both your BIL/SIL and the person in 5524 would have to cancel and the odds of that happening at the same time are probably highly unlikely. I'm afraid the other 6 cabins may have been grabbed up by people who aren't using them as connecting rooms too. Oh well - I'll keep checking. As long as we're on the boat, we're going to have a good time.
