The Vacation of a life time!!!!!!! Where to begin? Leaving wok at 3:00 am instead of 12:00 the busiest night in a long time. After the usual argument about who’s is riding with whom. My DW and I head back to Wal- Mart to get my glasses fixed they weren’t open when we went the first time. Now were are running late we are supposed to pick up my DD and my nephew who go to the same school at 11:45 (picture day) I knew for sure we were going to be late. Driving like a nut we hit Wal-Mart and GNC in record time. We get to the school at 11:47. Get the kids and oops we get trapped behind all the kids going to lunch. They all get on to the play ground and we are off. As we pull up to the meeting place so dose everyone else. YES we are on time!!!!!!!!!! We all pile in our prospective cars, and we are off 12:03 YYYYYEEEEESSSS! I can not believe it for the first time we are leaving on time.
We are making good time REALLY GOOD TIME. Through Hartford on to I95 man I have never had this little traffic.
On to the Cross Bronx Expressway. I have not listened to the traffic NOT ONCE, We have two cars with Sirius radios and neither of us have listed to the traffic (you can see where this is going) ;) I never go over the GW (George Washington Bridge) I like the tappinze simple because if something dose go wrong there are places to go, but we are making such good time. That is when it happens. All the cars stop. We can still turn around and head back the other way. “But this isn’t that bad” I say “we are still moving.” That changes too. About 45 minutes in to our street side parking my DD starts to complain about her ear. 2 hours in she is screaming I want to go home make it stop. Did I say I don’t like the GW because there is no place to go? 3 hours into our parking us we still better than a mile from the split just to get to the bridge. I was so bad I UNPACKED THE CAR to find the Motrin. Still I can not find it. My farther En- Law finds some in his car and becca FINALLY falls asleep. It is now after 6 and we are sitting in traffic for the UPPER LEVEL (those of you how know the GW you are saying what the heck are you doing there) with my patients shot and my last nerve gone about 2.5 hours ago :furious: :furious: . I say “Man *&^*()(*^%$@!$%^&*()() we are going the way I want to. I have had it with this following people *&^%.” I pull out saying “WHY DON’T WE HEAD TO THE LOWER LEVEL” to my sister en-law who I was no longer going to follow. Of on to the bridge we move along pretty good (it is NY and NJ) than the construction starts. Every 40 miles the right two lanes are closed. Still we are making good time. Around DC still pretty good time. Finally the sun comes up we are in South Carolina and we stop for breakfast. Becca seems to be doing pretty well not complaining about her ear. The challenge of the drive seems to be behind us. We cross in to FL man it feels good and it is only a little after 12:30PM.
To the hotel

Great job so far can't wait to read the rest!!!!!Tell you family Michelle and family say hi!!! Back to reality really s---s!!!!!

sorry it is taking so long I ment to finish yester day but I had the dreded mushrooms and spent a few hours getting my stomich pumped and getting all kinds of good drugs. I'll finshes it today in to tomorrow. I have it just about all typed I did mose of it on the ship, but I ma having trouble deciting what pictures to post on my web site and of course than link to my report. :surfweb:

I highly recommend the Radisson they were great and with the exception of wedding, which didn’t bother me I was to tired. Everything went perfect.
Just after we crossed in to Fl we had to stop to get gas and my farther En-law asked if we could get a them a room and place to park their car they were planning on staying with an uncle Jim who lives somewhere about 30 min south of the port. No luck all booked up. :confused3 So we figured we would roll the dice when we got down there. Worst comes to worst we’d sneak them in our tow rooms. But when we go there the said there was no limit on #of people in our room and we got three cots no charge. And he was able to get a parking pass for free as well.
We repacked the bags that I emptied in NY and headed off to Wal-Mart (can’t buy shorts in NE in the winter) :santa: than to dinner we ate at the Italian restaurant right next to the hotel it was ok cheap and good portions. The rest of our family went to visit My Brother in-laws mother in Melbourne or something like that. To say that was happy that we didn’t go would be an under statement. After the ride I was ready for a break Off to bed early I was beat and I wanted to be up early the next day to get breakfast and in line for the shuttle.

I think I would have officially "lost it" after sitting in traffic for that long! I see it now... claustrophobia sets in... driver breaks free from crowded car stuck in traffic... runs along the roof tops of other cars singing "they're coming to take me away, hee hee" as the rest of my family rolls their eyes!

Can't wait to hear the rest of your trip report!

What an adventure -- and you aren't even onboard!

Devin: It was nice meeting you at the port. The 3-ring binders were impressive.

I hope your are feeling better today. You really need to be more carefull with those mushrooms!!!! What a way to start your week.

The Check in was a breeze we were through the line in a matter of minutes. The online check was great. Once through we started to meet up with all the people that I had been chatting with for so long. Everywhere I turned another DIS member. My DD meet a DIS family right away and found someone in her club and age group.

Than Mickey came out and we had to get pictures with him. My DW and I decided to wear our wedding ears to the port, so the picture turned out really good. Then at 11:30 we started to board. We had a # 4 so we got to board right away.

My DD’s love to hear “Welcome the Scott Family.” (my DW loves it too) We walked right up to Guests services to meet with our wedding coordinator Mark ( he was the best but more on that later) We spoke with him for a just a few minutes and headed up to pick up our pagers for the girls clubs the computers were down on shore, but we had preregistered online. So all we had to do was sign out the pager and get the wrist band tracking things for the kids.
While we were at the club picking up all our stuff the last to members of our party came on board. And off to topsiders we went. After a LITTLE snack trying just about everything there, and it was all SSSSOOOOO good. I think I must have eaten 30 lbs of food. My only disappointment was the cheese cake I have had the kind that they serve on the ship before some place else, and my complaint (if you could call it that) was the same it is a multi layer. The top is a little different and has a different texture than the rest of the cake. (my niece agreed with me) That texture difference I do not care for. It may sound like I am nitpicking, but quite the opposite. Everyone else loved it, and as I can get really good cheese cake at home I really wasn’t planning on eating much of it anyway. It actually made my decision at dinner time much easier. I love to try new things and that was my plan to begin with so with the cheese cake off the top of the list it was open season on disserts. Man was that a good decision. Every night I tried a different type of dissert and they were all excellent. After our LITTLE snack it was about 1:30 and we could get in to our rooms. So we headed down to our state room completely forgetting about the walking ship tour.
We relaxed for a little while than before you know it it was time to head up to he Promioad lougne to meet all the DIS meet and gattering up our cameras and kids (yes we had to bring them) Off we went not really knowing what to expect but have had such a good time before we got on the ship ready to have even a better time. Oh yes and lets not forget the most important part GINGER pills. One every four hours for my week stomach, and let me tell you they worked. Once there we start to meet all the rest of the DIS members. We chatted for a while and than for the group picture man what a group we had. I had to hold both my DD’s up so they could get in the picture. We sat around getting to everyone again. All to soon it was time to go get ready for the fire drill. So back to our rooms to get on our life jackets and head to our station.
Pretty uneventful muster
.

Ok well this is where driving down takes it toll. With the muster over and our life jackets safly back in there closet and the Sail away party starting. We again grab our cameras and head to the party. Becca has a total and complete melt down. About half way through the party she has had enough. So we head back to the room to rest and try again later. I figure we can rest for a few minutes than head back to the party. HA HA HA the jokes on me. She sat down on the bed and that’s it lights out. She sleeps for about an hour than we go and walk around the ship. WE went out to deck 7 aft and taped the area (thinking this is where we are going to do our vow renewal) We head up to the top cell phone in hand I wanted to try and call my parents before we got to far out to sea, but there was no answer. Back down to our room and there is a DIS tag bag there. Off we go DIS tag. That was a blast, we had such a good time

great tr ! i want 2 renew my vows on disney !!!

Devin, you've abandoned us before you even arrived at CC! Where's the report? Are you off drinking blue margaritas?

Ok sorry this is taking so long but I was on all kinds of meds after my shroom issue and they were really messing me up.
By the time we had done our first Dis Tag there were three more. We must have walked 10 miles that first day. Once we started getting bags we realized we really had under planned. We didn’t put our room # or our name, or any other information on our bags. Once we were tagged we got all kinds of good ideas, several people gave us post card and info on there home. And the Jack Daniels Hard Lemonade :drinking1 along with BBQ sauce This was really good. (I usually order Bill Johnson’s about once a year. I might have to order this as well.) The next time we will have a better idea of what to do and well be better prepared, oh for thouse of you who didn't guess they were autograph books. I thought we would have handed them out before tuesday. It was a good idea but I don't thnk it turned out the way we had planned.

Dinning
We had requested the 8:00 dinning session and we did get it. We sat at table 24, THE BIG table, as it was refered to by most DCL cast members. Our first night was Animator's Palate. I don’t know if I had my expections set to high because of our last cruise or maybe I was tired and just a little bit grumpy but I was not happy with our servers. Our last cruise that was one of many things that REALLY stood out. Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t bad service just not as good as I had expected. The food was well fanticic as uasual. The diserts was better than I remember. With cheese cake off the menu I was going to try something differat evernight. After dinner we went to the cove café and had a cigar and coupe drinks. We planned to go to bed early so we could get up early for Casta Way Cay. This turned out to be a good plan. We were all rea lly tired and as soon as my head hit the pellow I was out.

Yeah, Devin's back in action. Love reading the report. I wish we'd have had more sleep before Costa Maya, but I just have such a hard time going to sleep on vacation (I can't seem to stop :cheer2: long enough to go to sleep).

Casta Way Cay (first trip)
Well I was on my way to work and I passed one of our trusty big red trucks with the flashers on I pulled over and he was broken down so I was able to send him on his way in my van (he was late for an recitle or play for his daughter) and I am waiting for Ryder to come fix the truck. The Jack of all trades thing again some times it works in my favor.

Up and at’m early We were up by 6:30 eating breakfast at 7:00. We ate a lumiers. What a good breakfast. We had eggs benedict and the girls both had eggs pancakes and fruit. It was just the right amount too. Breakfast out of the way we headed down to deck 1 there were only about 10 people there when we got there. I guess it took a couple try’s to get the shipped dock right. Finally out the door and on the gang plank or what ever that ramp it called.

We stopped to take some pictures of the Flying Dutchman, but we really wanted to get in to the snorkel lagoon. My girls had there own snorkel gear. We had signed up for the casta way cay fun package ( what ever the name was) Michelle went over to the shack to get the snorkel stuff. We had only brought one of our tickets. She came back to the lagoon where I was getting the girls all set up. She couldn’t get both sets of snorkel gear she ran back aboard the ship and got the other ticket. Well as she soon found out she didn’t need her ticket at all. I thought it was funny she on the other hand found no humor in it.

In to the water we went. My youngest DD had had enough and after Michelle had returned with her stuff I took her to her club. Back down to the water we went looking for that Mickey. We swam for about an hour and nothing. We swam all the way out to other end of the lagoon. We found EVERYTHING BUT the Mickey. Finally I swam out to a life guard and asked him and he told me where it was (all the way back at the beginning of the lagoon. So off we went. Almost two hours of swimming we finally it.

I bought a water proof camera case (bag) I took some really, really good pictures with it. I just put my camera in the bag and locked it off in to the water I went.

After the Mickey my DD had had enough. I had her grab on to the strap on my vest, and I pulled her in. Than I swam back to Michelle and she said she had a cramp in her foot. So I pulled her in too. By the time I was done pulling everyone in I was really tired. I couldn’t hardly walk.
