101 Ways My Son Entertained Himself at WDW--The Last Day--New 11/18

After waiting for a while for the gates to Beauty and the Beast to open, they finally let us in. Turns out we got great seats, but it was super windy and shady. So—you guessed it! We were so cold!

When we saw the guy dressed in all black with a Disney Cast Member name tag came out and checked the sound mics, we knew they show was about to start. Or was it? He started being silly and singing a little into the microphone. Then another guy saw him and started in too. Pretty soon 4 guys were out there singing acapella. They were awesome. I knew there was a pre-show group, but the way they came out was really funny. K is a big fan of doo wop groups and so am I.

Four for a Dollar

The last time I saw Beauty and the Beast at WDW, there was a tiny little stage and one set of bleachers. It’s definitely come a long way. It’s one of my favorite shows. I took 50 pics during the show, so I’ll just share a few favorites.

Our day in MGM was based on everyone’s favorites. My favorite is Little Mermaid, C’s favorite is Beauty and the Beast, A’s is Cars and B’s is High School Musical. K’s is the Lights, Motor, Action Show. So our goal was simple- to see each show/parade that was a favorite. Our next stop was the Stars and Motor Cars. K’s Fast Pass was past it’s return time, so he ran over to ride Rockin’ Rollercoaster while I ran into the store and bought him the Four for a Dollar’s CD (the doo wop group). Then we went over to the candy shop so the kids could get some sweets to enjoy during the parade.

We ended up with cotton candy (A), sour cherry spray (C), chocolate coins (B), and I grabbed a 3pk of rock candy for another time. Once again I tell the CM to use snack credits, but they didn’t and they charged it to my room. This happened at least 3 times. I didn’t care about the $14, but I did care that the credits weren’t getting used.

I tried to maneuver the kids through the crowds that had already begun forming to find a spot. I was glad I didn’t have two strollers at that point!

****Sidenote: As much as I wanted to bring the strollers, the kids really did great and didn’t whine almost at all. Having two strollers to push when I was alone with the kids would have been annoying, so I was glad I listened to K in the end. I was so proud of the kids behavior the whole trip.

I finally found a spot in front of Star Wars that didn’t have a rope, but I knew it would soon. The lady told me that when she put the rope up, I would be on the front row. Cool. When she put it up, people tried to push and shove, but the CM remembered us and told us to come forward. I didn’t want to block anyone else’s view, so B and I stood with the adults, a little back from the kids who were sitting in the first few rows.

Eventually, other kids, were stepping on my kids and standing in front of them. I kept saying, “Honey, don’t let them shove you.” “Sweetie, you can stand up too.” “Get in front of them. You’re smaller.” They didn’t. They sat behind the other kids eating their candy. I don’t know if that speaks for their street smarts or their excessive love for sweets. I was so mad that not one parent corrected their child. I know they heard me talking to my kids and those brats who were shoving belonged to someone...

After the parade, K found us and was just next to where we were, but we didn’t see him. Time to head to head to Lights, Motor, Action Stunt show! The boys were really excited about this show. I would have to say that besides a few roller coasters, K was looking forward to this most. This show is new since we were at WDW. Once again, we were completely shaded and it was super windy. I started to shiver again. The kids were miserable too. I promised that after the show we would go inside for a while.

Once the show finally started, the wind made them have to reset the show several times. During one scene, the motorcyclist was supposed to go through the fire. I don’t know exactly what happened, but he was hurt and the show was cancelled. I couldn’t believe it. Of course, I was glad he was okay, but how frustrating to sit freezing for so long not to see the whole show. We were getting cranky again…

And I thought no CMs got hurt at Disney World! That's too bad. We never saw the show so I don't know really what you missed anyway. And I hate pushy shovy kids. I would have really spoke up and went over there, maybe, if I could.

I don't know why the pics are so big, but I'm too lazy to try and figure it out anymore. :confused3 Enjoy the huge pictures! :3dglasses

Look who's first!!!
Poor CM. He hit his head, I think.

I couldn't get through all the kids sitting there to help the kids see better. I just can't believe that no parents cared that their kids were being brats. It's so sad. :sad2:

This goes back to my theory about rude people breeding more rude people. :headache:

As for LMA, I actually left in the middle of it I was so bored, cars are just not my thing.

Did K like RNRC?

I know what you mean about parents letting their kids behave badly like that, I see it a lot and not just at WDW. My parents never would have allowed by brothers and I to act like that. :sad2:

Ok.... so cold day doesn't sound like it was a very good day :( ... so far next day sounds ok.... I have never seen annnie.... she's a cutie :)

K didnt watch the parade with you guys? Did he like RnRC?
Pushy brats...:headache: I tried to say the same thing to my kids when that happend at parades. I was a little annoyed that they didnt do anything either. they just looked at me and complained. sheesh,,move, say excuse me, SOMETHING! But then I didnt really want them to be like "them" I guess..
I dont think you missed much from LMA. Except that K was excited to see it. and you can tell by his picture! Its strange seeing everyone bundled up down there, everytime wer there its 90 degrees and 100% humidity!!
BTW,,Your picture size is fine!!

Beauty & the Beast looks nice - couldn't get my boys to go. Of course, we did next to nothing at DHS, so it's not that surprising.

I'm glad the CM wasn't hurt, and phhbbt to the bratty children. ;)

So—you guessed it! We were so cold!
Again :sad2: Did it ever warm up?

What a lovely touring plan :goodvibes

I didn’t care about the $14, but I did care that the credits weren’t getting used.
Did they get sorted????

I know they heard me talking to my kids and those brats who were shoving belonged to someone...

the show was cancelled.
Oh no, glad he was OK though!

phhbbt to the bratty children. ;)
Are you blowing raspberries again? :rotfl:

sad,but the reason I sit WITH my kids at one of those shows is b/c other people encourage their kids to be rude, but they have a hard time pushing by ME.;) especially since i tell them they won't be going in front of my kids. Then those kids look very surprised, but don't dare cross the crazy lady who speaks so forthrightly.look at all the winter coats in your pics! brrrr

I LOVE the 4 guys from Beauty.
I could listen to them everyday.
Too bad about the Stunt show.

It's sad, really. I'll leave it at that 'cause I don't have the energy to preach about the state of our children and their future... :sad2:

Ok.... so cold day doesn't sound like it was a very good day :( ... so far next day sounds ok.... I have never seen annnie.... she's a cutie :)

Cold= bad for Texans  The day at MGM just wasn't what you dream of when you think of vacation, so it was so so. :confused3

I hate how people let their kids just step over kids who have been waiting like that!! Glad to see how well behaved yours are they don't bother fighting about it :goodvibes

K didn't find us after he rode RnRC, and before the parade nazis made him stand to the side. :confused3 It was weird to be bundled up and cold. Next time we're going in March or April! :rotfl:

We enjoy the shows, but if we went as often as some people on these boards, I guess we'd get bored too. :rolleyes1
