101 Ways My Son Entertained Himself at WDW--The Last Day--New 11/18

I hate how people let their kids just step over kids who have been waiting like that!! Glad to see how well behaved yours are they don't bother fighting about it :goodvibes

Well, they were well beahved or more interested in their candy! One of those two!!! :lmao:

For those of you who don't visit the TFW board, you may not know how crazy this last month has been for our family. I want to put out another update soon, but forgive me when I don't get them out as often. Okay?

Here's an overview:
I was so sick one weekend, K got the flu/sinus thing too the next week. C had tummy flu, A had a fever. K got sick again this weekend. A now has a fever and is battling the tummy flu.

We have had to fix my car twice, & K's truck twice. Each repair has been about $400. I hit K's truck in our driveway when it wasn't parked in his normal spot (it was dead) to the tune of $1300. We haven't fixed it yet, but we'll have to. :sad2:

My MIL had brain surgery and is still recovering. We've had 3 dance competitions this last month too. I lost my camera last weekend, but founf out yesterday it was found! K's been out of town on Thusday for the past 3 weeks. Last week he was gone 2 days. :guilty: The rest of the stuff is regular old day to day stuff. Like school and tons of activites along with a few field trips! :scared1:

It's GOT to slow down and get better soon, right?

So there it is in a nut shell- why I've been so sporadic and a little cranky! :lmao:

When we saw the guy dressed in all black with a Disney Cast Member name tag came out and checked the sound mics, we knew they show was about to start. Or was it? He started being silly and singing a little into the microphone. Then another guy saw him and started in too. Pretty soon 4 guys were out there singing acapella. They were awesome. I knew there was a pre-show group, but the way they came out was really funny. K is a big fan of doo wop groups and so am I.
:thumbsup2 They are funny--funnier the first time when it's a surprise too.

I finally found a spot in front of Star Wars that didn’t have a rope, but I knew it would soon. The lady told me that when she put the rope up, I would be on the front row. Cool. When she put it up, people tried to push and shove, but the CM remembered us and told us to come forward.
That's nice! Is the parade good??

I don’t know exactly what happened, but he was hurt and the show was cancelled. I couldn’t believe it. Of course, I was glad he was okay, but how frustrating to sit freezing for so long not to see the whole show. We were getting cranky again…
 Wow, never heard of that happening, that proves it's all real each time tho.

Good update HS!:thumbsup2

Thanks! :goodvibes

Remember to tell us what you got :hyper:
Are you going to live vicariously through our snacking? :lmao: I wish I had one of those pretzel sticks now... Oooh... those would be fn to make at the girls' sleepover Bday party, don't you think? :woohoo:

Yeah yeah yeah, yadda yadda yadda. Get on with it ...

Hey- It's still nothing compared to what you've been through lately. Maybe after I get the kids through History and Science I can bust out another update today or tomorrow.

Nah. Take your time. I'm really patient, honest I am. BTW ~ Brookie had a temp to 103 last night! :sad2: But she seems okay today. Nighttime is always worse right?

That's high! A's was 101 at 4:15 yesterday. It seems to go up around 4-6p.m. for him.

He's kept down a bit of sprite and a few crackers, and he's wondering what's for lunch. :sad2: I told him that was his lunch. I've been making him wait until each cartoon is over to get another cracker. ;)

I know you're in here somewhere cause your little light is on a and you posted on Buzz's....come out come out!

You said "reckon" :rotfl2: That's kind of a southern thing to say, so that's cute that you said it! :upsidedow

The girls bdays aren't until May/June, so it'll be a while. Knowing me, I'll forget by then! :p I think it would be fun to melt chocolate chips and provide carmel to drizzle and have M&Ms & sprinkles to roll them in. Yummy! ::yes::

We'll have to remind you :thumbsup2

It’s dinner time, so we head for Mama Melrose’s place. There are so many people in the line waiting to check in it seems. But when all is said and done, they are really asking for seating with no ADR. I felt bad for them. They were told they were completely booked for the night and it wasn’t even 5!

Maybe it’s because they get booked for every night, their service is so bad. Yes, that’s foreshadowing. We were seated promptly and I was ready to have an adult beverage! I ordered a Blue Glowtini and K ordered a Moretti on draft. I asked K to take a picture and I guess he was distracted because this is what I got.

When I asked him what he was doing all he said was “B00bies…” What a goober.

Here’s the real picture of me enjoying my drink with my new “Mo” shirt on. It sure did clash with my jacket, didn’t it?

When it was time to order, I ordered the artisan breads as an appetizer. (Artisan Breads and Spreads - freshly baked breads served with an arugula and chive pesto, sun-dried tomato, roasted vegetable and roasted garlic spreads) I remember that they were pretty yummy. Even the kids were daring enough to try a few of the dips and breads.

We had plenty of time for pictures....

For dinner, K ordered The Italian Sausage ( rigatoni pasta, peppers, onions, and a tomato basil sauce topped with caprino cheese ), B ordered Grilled Chicken Flatbread (with sun-dried tomato pesto, pancetta, asiago cheese and fresh chives), I ordered Charred Butcher Tender Steak gorgonzola butter on roasted red pepper polenta, grilled asparagus and red wine reduction. The little kids (as they are sometimes called) both got spaghetti hold the meatballs.

My steak was one of the best I’ve ever had. Everyone enjoyed their food a lot. The service was horrible. I don’t mean I had to wait a minute for my water to be filled, I mean, the whole table had nothing to drink most of the time. So, when our server, Chris, came around, I ordered new drinks for everyone and new adult beverages for K and I. Our table was never cleared. K is a really fun-loving, easy going, non-confrontational guy, but he ended up getting up and taking our dirty dishes to the table behind us that was still dirty from when we were seated. I was so embarrassed, but it had to be done.

When we finally located Chris again (who looked like Chris Farley), we ordered our dessert and I ordered a dessert coffee, a bella cappucchino. K ordered the Chocolate Gelato, I ordered the Hazelnut Cheesecake, and B ordered the same as me. A & C both got, what else? Ice cream sundaes.

Like I said, the food and drinks were wonderful if you can stand the service. What was so annoying on top of the bad service is how many times our server stopped by and told us that tip was NOT included. We know. And we’re not tipping well anyway.
Dinner’s over. Now what? What should we do next?

Cute pictures! :p Glad your food was good even though your service was not. I get really annoyed with bad service and I'm glad you tipped accordingly!

What nerve these CMs have. They will regret it, if they dare remind me about the tip. I have a horrible habit of doing the opposite of what I am told. I've always been that way. Quite a rebel. :moped: pirate:

At least you got him to look up!

We had a similar experience here last year---and no one would go back this year at all. Sorry it was crappy for you too. We thought the food was ok---but not worth the long wait for a table, noisy and crowded room, and a drink-free evening.

I would have said remind me one more time and you will $0 tip.

I only had the cm's tell me when we sat down and they explained the plan.
