When we got back to POR, we decided to drop the packages and head over to DTD by bus since it was too cold to go by boat.
Once we arrived, I was torn between Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Pucks. In the end, we found Earl of Sandwich first, so we stopped there. It was so crowded, that we had to stalk people who were hanging out at tables too long.
I ordered a Beef and Blue (roast beef, bleu cheese, lettuce and tomato), K ordered a Full Montague (roast beef and turkey with cheddar and Swiss cheese, romaine lettuce, tomato and mustard sauce), B ordered a Ham and Swiss without sauce (Ham with aged Swiss cheese and dressed with a Dijon mustard sauce), and both A & C ordered the kids pizza sandwich. Everyone raved about their food. It was the best sandwich Ive ever had.
For dessert we had one sugar cookie, 2 brownies, and 2 cupcakes (which I think they picked because of the sprinkles!) I was itching to shop and have that Ultimate Margarita that I promised Buzz Id have in honor of his birthday the Sunday before our trip. Lets go!
First stop was The Christmas Store. I wanted a Christmas ornament to hang on the tree and commemorate our trip. I saw a few things I liked, but I wasnt ready to decide yet.
Lets stop at the Margarita Bar before we head over to World of Disney. I really didnt want a margarita that night since it was so stinking cold, but a promise is a promise
We get to the bar area and look- its closed!!!
I couldnt control myself, I had to cry.
Okay, not really.
Next stop- World of Disney!
This is the store we got our shop on in! I wanted to knock out all purchases for other people right there so I could enjoy the trip and not think about it. A wanted to stay in the boy room and the girls wanted to go towards the girls stuff, so we decided to split according to gender. Ks not happy about this, and tells me (get this!) to meet him back in 30 minutes. Thats funny! Only 30 minutes to shop in World of Disney for three girls. What a crack up. So I agreed knowing that was never going to happen. Sure, honey, buh bye!
The girls and I head to the jewelry area to get Grandma some earrings. She wanted Mickey earrings because shes got several pairs of Pooh Bear ones. I went with plain silver Mickey head-shaped ones. You cant go wrong there. C saw a pretty beaded necklace ($12) with a silver Mickey head charm that she wanted, so we grabbed that too. We wandered around and had some fun with hats.
We knew 30 minutes was coming up, so we headed all the way across the store to the boys area, but didnt see the guys. So, we headed back to the girls section. The girls had their eyes on the High School Musical and Hannah Montana stuff. C had seen a shirt in MGM that she wanted, so we were on the hunt for that too.
We were in tween heaven!

We couldnt have been happier girls! C found her shirt ($20)- a pink Sharpey shirt that read, I Want Fabulous- Is That So Wrong? So adorable! She also picked out a Cheetah Girls Poster book ($7), and a Belle music box ($15).
B bought the High School Musical Poster book ($7), a Tinkerbelle bag clip ($8), and the High School Musical Yearbook ($11).
I bought a HSM poster book for Bs friend who was caring for our kitty, and a Mickey Mouse baseball for her brother. We also paid them $10 each. The kitty is so easy, just scoop the box a couple of times, and make sure she has food and water. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!
When we went to find the boys, K was letting A fill a treasure box with all kinds of JUNK! I couldnt believe he was going to let him spend money on rocks and stuff I would be throwing away when I found it on the floor. I vetoed the purchase which just made A mad. I wasnt too happy about being the bad guy either. I had to do damage control and find something that was cool for him to buy- quick! He ended up with a Cars car and a promise to go to the
Lego store ASAP.
Sidenote: now that Im looking through receipts, I see that I bought a Pirates of the Caribbean flint rock gun for both A and my nephew the day before. We also got A a golf ball with all the flags of the Epcot countries on it ($4) some time today.
Walking around DTD was really hard on everyone that night. It was in the 30s and very, very windy. We still only had light jackets and long sleeve shirts with jeans to keep us warm. My feet were not happy and my level of crankiness was getting higher. I was literally shaking uncontrollably every time we stepped out of the stores. Still, Im a shopper at heart so I keep going, trying to be brave.
At the Lego store we worked really hard at filling every tiny space of the larger cup ($13). A is a big fan of making cars and planes, so we focused on seats and things that would help him have the coolest Lego cars in Texas. Were new to Legos, other than the lame house building set B had when she was little. So, I knew A would like some guys to add to his set, so I grabbed a three pack of Star Wars magnetic guys ($13) at the check out too. A was happy boy! And so was daddy
We headed over to Once Upon a Toy to get our Potato Head stuffing on. We wanted to be fair and get each of the kids something they wanted, so we went for each kids favorite first. Tinkerbelle for B, Cinderella for C and a pirate for A. We then stuffed cookies, wands, Mr Incredible things and pretty much anything small enough to fall into the cracks, into that container. We did pretty good for $19, I though. When I was paying, I lost the guys. Ks not much for shopping so I thought he went out to smoke and took A with him. I looked outside and didnt see them. We wandered around the store and didnt see them either. Mamas getting cranky.
Finally we find them and Ks got 3 Cars cars that are brand new and were just being set out on the racks. I was happy for A, as hes collected all of the other cars, but I was getting really tired. It was 8:50 and my kids are normally in bed by now. Im normally chilling and not walking all day in freezing temps.
I got cranky and got onto K for losing us like that. I think I said something like, I want to go now. Get me out of this toy hell! He wasnt happy (maybe he is a shopper underneath it all?) and wanted to go back where they were to get a life saber. I think I said I was leaving, and went outside. The guys went to check out and then came out to play on the playground. I really didnt want to sit outside, but K went to the McDs to go to the restroom, then smoked. I was so cold and I was pissed.
When K was finally done, I started walking over to show the kids the Lego displays. But mostly, I kept walking as I pointed to them. I wasnt stopping for anything at that point. As we walked, B kept trying to give me her gloves to help me stop shaking. I refused to take them because I knew she was cold too. Along the walk behind Earl of Sandwich I just lost it. I started sobbing. I felt horrible for being in a bad mood and my legs didnt want to walk anymore, but I refused to stop since I was so cold. The kids and K were so sweet. They came around me and hugged me as I bawled like a baby.

I sobbed that I was sorry I was so grouchy and ruining the trip, but I was just so cold. Everyone tried to comfort me, and it really made me proud of my family. After a few minutes, we headed back to the bus stop and hopefully, to the warmth of our room.
