100 Years of Magic pins

A few years ago, we got a 100 Years of Magic pin that lit up at certain areas in the parks. Does anyone know if they still work down there? I can tell it needs a new battery, but don't want to mess with buying one and bringing it down there if it isn't going to work anyway.

When I first bought it, it worked and it was awesom. Then I took it home, and the batteries died. So I changed them, took it into the parks the next time I went down, and it lit up, but didn't interact with the rides/shows anymore. I haven't taken it into the parks since, because it was a heavy pin, and since it didn't light up on rides/shows anymore, why bring it? I'm sure it still doesn't work, unfortunatly.
