10 years of memories deserves a big celebration! An Oct. 2014 PTR (NEW 3/16)

Hello Fellow Disney Lovers,

My name is Rachael and I L-O-V-E Disney World. (I've never been to Disneyland but I hope to go one day.) My first trip was in 2004 with my high school marching band and I went back in 2006 with my dad, stepmom, and brothers. My husband, Greg, and I went to Disney World for our honeymoon in 2009 and that's when we fell hard for the World. (Now, you might be asking why my PTR title mentions 10 years of memories if we've only been married since 2009. Well, we've been dating since 2004!) We went back again in 2009 and have been back every year since. I've done several reports here on the boards but I've been quiet lately. I started graduate school last January and we also sold and bought a home last year so life has been busy!

Greg and I live in a suburb near Chicago. I work in the Youth Services department of a public library and Greg works in computers in the city. Outside of our shared love of Disney World, I love to read, cook, and try new restaurants. Greg loves video games-a lot. Oh, and we also are fur-kid parents to two tabby cats named Fredi and Mickey. (Yes, after THE mouse.)

Although we spent a few days in Disney World last August/September, we only spent one day in the parks. We were in Florida to vacation in Destin and decided we needed a little fix. Before that, we went in November 2012 and that was a short trip that was planned rather last minutely. So really it's been three years since I've been able to plan an "official" Disney trip! I'm so excited to share my plans with everyone and I hope that you'll join in for the fun and chat with me along the way.

I've just called and booked our vacation! *Dance party time!* I thought about booking the reservation online but 1) I love hearing the Disney music when you call and 2) I was eager to know our ADR date. Surprisingly, I only waited for a few minutes before I was connected with a very friendly CM.

I requested a king room but the CM on the phone said it most likely won't happen. I'll call the resort directly 3 days before we leave to request again as well. (If we don't get a king room, it's okay, we'd just prefer it.) We didn't add the dining plan and we may add it at a later date, I need to figure out how many table service meals we plan on eating since we'll want to spend a lot of our time at Food & Wine.

Oh yeah, the dates! We're going from Saturday, October 11-Monday, October 20. 10 days and 9 nights of Food & Wine Fest, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, and riding Space and Splash countless times. Glorious!

Thank you for coming out of lurkdom. Haha! I've pretty much accepted the fact that this is probably going to be more like a blog but that's okay. I enjoy going back and reading about my trips to the happiest place in the world!
