10 year old on Dining Plan?

Sorry, but I am still confused about the dining plan

I have a DS, 10, who would much rather eat of the children's menu, as will her sister, DS8. First of all, can DS10 (regardless of how paid), or they going ask her age or look at our card (which I understand will say 3A 1C) and require to order off the adult menu?

If they let her, can I use an "adult credit" for her to pay? I won't have enough childrens' credits otherwise. (I understand that this is a bizarre economic outcome, except at buffet meals and the shows, where the result is about what I'd pay.) I expect to pay OOP for the lower priced children's menu.

They will let you do this, as I understand it. My 10 Y.O. was 9 last trip, so we did not run into this issue personally.

However, we found there was sooo much food on the dining plan, that my DD, and I sometimes, shared a meal, and appetizer, and we saved her credits for later. DH and I used the extra for a night out at a sig. restaurant. Maybe she can find an appetizer, for her meal?

I have good news for you.. there is no such thing as a "child" or "adult" credit.. only pooled credits. The plan allows anyone in your party to use any of the credits at any time. The only caveat is that children 9 and under must order from a children's menu, where available. Most posters have stated they had no problem with older children (and even adults!) being able to order from the children's menu.
