$10 Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue Blu-ray coupon now live

The pre-order card for Batb specifically states 'get $10 off TODAY' when you pre-order.

The card I have says, "Order your copy of BatB... and save $10 when you buy any Disney Blu-ray (priced) $19.99 or higher TODAY." Not, "Order your copy of BatB... and save $10 TODAY when you buy any Blu-ray (priced) $19.99 or higher."

I understood it to mean: place your pre-order on BatB, buy a Blu-ray, get ten bucks off of BatB. TRU is confirming that. It makes sense that it will come off when I pick up BatB. If the pre-order offer read the other way and they did it the other way, I would be putting $5 down and getting $10 back, effectively $5 for nothing. Then I could simply get my $5 deposit back and walk away from my commitment to purchase, ten bucks richer.

Besides, I also have the receipt to prove I did not get the $10 off when I purchased TB and put deposit on BatB.

I'm not disagreeing that the manager said that to you but I'd honestly ask for it in writing because it's not correct and I'd hate for them to deny you the $10 when you go pick it up, yk?

Good advice. Since this is my first go-round, I am simply going to hedge my bets by purchasing the TB at Target. I have to run errands all this week and where I live the stores are very close to each other - very little wasted time or gas. I'll be able to return any unopened merchandise along with the swag. Watch, no watch, hairpin, no hairpin - all the same for my purposes (gift). Additionally, I can only do what my TRU will let me do, or chose to take my business elsewhere. I will keep you posted on what is happening and how it turns out - that way we can all keep track of the best discounts. I'm really curious to see how they will handle this. If I spend much more time on all this, instead of working, I think it would be more expedient to film my own version of BatB starring me (& DH) and put it on Blu-ray! :laughing: :laughing: (It will be the "Sweded" version a la "Be Kind, Re-Wind.")

Definitely post back when you go get Batb. I'd like to think well of TRU but I keep being disappointed. ;)

I decided not to get aggravated going to TRU so I printed my coupons and went to Target. I got the one with the jewelry box that my DD is loving for $11.99 plus tax. No issues whatsoever with using both coupons.

Thank you very much!

I think I got a great deal now! TRU never got them in, so I went to walmart and got it for a little over $14 with the coupon. Then I came on here and saw the Target coupon, so off i went to Target last night and bought it for $8 and change with the 2 coupons.

This morning I stopped at Walmart to return the other one. The lady rang up the return as $22.99 plust tax. I told her I only paid $12.99 plus tax because I used a coupon. She told me they mailed them in already for credit and she was just going to do it this way. So, she refunded me $24 and change even though I only paid $14 and change. I did try to tell her I was getting too much!

So, in the end I made about $2 on the whole mess. Can't wait to see how I do with BATB!

Disney will pay them the 10$ for you using the coupon. So that's out of their hands. And it's not like they can give you your coupon back.

Went to TRU yesterday and had no problem:
9/18-
$(10.00) pre-order TB

9/22-
$ 30.00 TB Blu-ray
$-10.00 deposit (see above)
$-10.00 manuf. coupon
$ 5.00 pre-order BatB
$ 0.00 Tink watch
$ 15.00 + tax oop + 10.00GC = effectively $5.00 out the door (not actually, but, effectively)

actually charged $ 10.00 + tax + $10.00GC

No, it sounds like the register did to you what it did to everyone else. Look at your receipt again. The $5 you think was some sort of "match" to target should have actually been a $10 deduction for pre-purchasing BATB. It wasn't something a cashier puts into the register, it came up automatically. It sounds like they owe you $5 and you WON'T get $10 when you pick up BATB. (You wouldn't get $10 off BATB anyway. It's supposed to be off another Bluray or DVD $19.99 or higher.)

I got mine at Target for $7.99 +tax and absolutely no hassle! My time is worth more than dealing with the idiots at TRU.

I had reserved it at TRU, but after reading so many people having a hard time getting the correct price........I went to Target. With the two coupons it came out much cheaper anyhow.

I did go to TRU and return the pre-order. When he asked if I changed my mind, I said I found it cheaper somewhere else........and asked if they price matched and he said only on the Babies R Us stuff.

20 minutes for me too! I believe the key would have been to buy something else. I told them the order to ring everything in and the problem was the gift card offer. Manager said she couldnt override the computer either. Total came to 4.99 like it should have and then when they hit the total key it came to 11.07, it would only let the movierewards coupon take off 4.99, since the gift card was showing -10 and there couldnt be a negative balance is how they explained it. I told the girl it wasnt fair that I would have to pay $5 more than I should have to and I would just go to Target, she finally said if I paid in cash she would just have her register short and cover it....should have went to Target, but hopefully the next transactions will go better! If I would have bought something else it would have worked in hindsight, but I didnt need anything else, and they were out of the watches.

I got my TRU deal.free watch,and bought pixo's (buy 2 get 1 free). no problems except it wouldn't prompt them to give me the gift card. they ended up just giving it to me. didn't get a hassle but it did take 10 minutes to check out.

OK, swung into Target today and picked up TB w/ jewelry, so I have my back-up.

Target:
$ 26.99 TB w/ swag
$-10.00 manuf. coupon
$ -5.00 vendors coupon
$ 11.99 + tax

or

$ 22.99 TB w/o swag
$-10.00 manuf. coupon
$ -5.00 vendor coupon
$ 7.99 + tax

The only hassle I got from Target was the checkout girl told me that next time I had to "Cut out the coupons or they won't accept them."
Me: "Really? Last time I was told not to cut out the coupons or they couldn't accept them."

Called TRU & this time got two completely different answers from the same person.

First she said that the $10 was to come off my initial transaction - like everybody else is saying. So, I said "I only got $5 off. Why would that happen?"
TRU: "You'll get the other five off when you pick up BatB."
Me: "Really? Because, when I called yesterday I was told I would get the $10 off when I pick up BatB."
TRU: "O.K. Let me double check."

Fully 10 minutes on hold.

TRU: "O.K., the $10 comes off when you buy a DVD along with picking up BatB."
Me: "Umm, that's not what my coupon says. Mine says, 'Pre-Order BatB and save $10 when I buy a Disney BD (priced) $19.99 or higher today.' Wouldn't that mean I get $10 off of either the first transaction or BatB when I pick it up, without having to purchase a third BD?"
TRU: Completely confused and exasperated, "I don't know. I just know you got a lot of money off and had a lot of coupons, so somebody would have to look at your receipt to figure it out."
Me: "O.K. Thanks for trying."

Hmmm. So, I guess we'll see.

That's great :cool1:

It didn't, however, work for me :( And I was buying a BUNCH of stuff! I had $150 worth of stuff (after $5 off and a TAG book coupon) and they still wouldn't let me do it :confused3 They were very nice about it but the manager said because of the "cannot combine offers" or some such phrase on the coupon that it wouldn't ring up due to the Gift Card being an "offer", I wasn't even trying to stack with BATB... can't imagine what that would have been like. She said she was a member of DMR and had wanted to do the same deal but couldn't. Still, it wasn't a HUGE deal. I just did BATB in a second transaction and used the $10 off promo towards Pinnochio. I saved my GC from Tink to use later on another movie. I never got a watch either - wasn't offered or mentioned on the cards or displays. Oh well, I do have the charm/bracelet offer I could do.

Was anyone else told they weren't allowed to use both the coupon and get the $10 gift certificate (for preordering) at TRU? I was told I had to choose to either get the 10 off or the gift certificate but couldn't do both. :confused3

No, I was never told that. But it was a headache getting it rung up.

The manager that came over said that they had a lady yesterday with the same thing. And for the life of them, they couldn't get it figured out. But I was patient, and it was later at night. I actually left my coupon and everything there, so the lady could try to talk to other stores to see if they had any luck. She kept getting calls all over the store for this or that. So I just said, you go be super woman, and I'll be back in a little bit. She got to take care of the store, and I got to make my aunt happy by taking her home.

Technically the coupon shouldn't have anything to do with the order. Now I could see if they said "you get to choose one store promo over the other". Disney will be reimbursing them for the price of the coupon, the store itself isn't loosing money on it.
And the problem does show up when the price of the gift card is keyed in.

If you don't have patience, or a very nice Toys R Us, I would suggest not going that route.
