The pre-order card for Batb specifically states 'get $10 off TODAY' when you pre-order.
The card I have says, "Order your copy of BatB... and save $10 when you buy any Disney Blu-ray (priced) $19.99 or higher TODAY." Not, "Order your copy of BatB... and save $10 TODAY when you buy any Blu-ray (priced) $19.99 or higher."
I understood it to mean: place your pre-order on BatB, buy a Blu-ray, get ten bucks off of BatB. TRU is confirming that. It makes sense that it will come off when I pick up BatB. If the pre-order offer read the other way and they did it the other way, I would be putting $5 down and getting $10 back, effectively $5 for nothing. Then I could simply get my $5 deposit back and walk away from my commitment to purchase, ten bucks richer.
Besides, I also have the receipt to prove I did not get the $10 off when I purchased TB and put deposit on BatB.
I'm not disagreeing that the manager said that to you but I'd honestly ask for it in writing because it's not correct and I'd hate for them to deny you the $10 when you go pick it up, yk?
Good advice. Since this is my first go-round, I am simply going to hedge my bets by purchasing the TB at Target. I have to run errands all this week and where I live the stores are very close to each other - very little wasted time or gas. I'll be able to return any unopened merchandise along with the swag. Watch, no watch, hairpin, no hairpin - all the same for my purposes (gift). Additionally, I can only do what my TRU will let me do, or chose to take my business elsewhere. I will keep you posted on what is happening and how it turns out - that way we can all keep track of the best discounts. I'm really curious to see how they will handle this. If I spend much more time on all this, instead of working, I think it would be more expedient to film my own version of BatB starring me (& DH) and put it on Blu-ray!
