My wife saw that this Sunday is 10% off disney cards gift cards plus another 5% off for red card owners.

So would we be saving 15% off of our Disney spend?

I think she may be mistaken-it has been widely reported that target will be selling target gift cards for 10% off on Sunday up to a limit of $300. You do not get the 5% off when you buy a target gift card with a red card (but you currently could buy the 10% off target gift card then use that to buy Disney gift cards on a future visit)

I can look tomorrow at the ad for this coming week and let you know if it's just the target gift card or other gift cards as well on sale

@CMNJ is right. It will be 10% off Target GC's (not 3rd party cards like Disney) and there is no additional discount for Redcard since it is only on Target GC's. You will be limited to $300 per purchase (for the discount). It's not the best discount ever but 10% off is better than paying full price :)

The target 10% cards are available all day...not for a limited window as was asked about earlier.

Saw the ad in the Sunday early addition this morning

It's specifically target cards...no ambiguity.

Though, it might be worth it to watch the ads the next few weeks after to see if they run the "buy 2, get $5" promo again this year

Can you then buy a Disney gift card with the discounted target gift card?

Yes...hence this thread on the disboard.

But if you think about it: you can also get airline (specifically southwest) gift cards as well...so it's a decent way to get a little bit of savings...

...god knows the Wdw resort has done its damnest to eliminate that ;)

Just a caveat: You can currently purchase a Disney gift card with a Target card. However, Target has made unexpected changes to how it allows gift cards to be purchased this year -- you used to be able to use a Target gift card to purchase Disney gift cards online, but that ended suddenly. Target could change their policy again at any time, which could leave you with a bunch of Target gift cards. So, don't buy more of the Target cards than you're comfortable with, in case you get stuck with them.

It's 10% off on only target gift cards and only for December 4th. It's not the entire week

My bad...I said "all day" i.e. Not 8 am-2 pm or something like that...But JUST dec 4...that wasn't clear

I wasn't referring to your post, I was just saying in general. I didn't see your post when I posted

Wait I think I missed something here. You can no longer use a Target gift card to buy a Disney Entertainment gift card online? I had not heard this. Is this true?

I heard that Target closed the loop hole about buying a Disney Card online and still getting the 5% Red Card discount when actually using an alternate payment method (ie. Target gift card) and not the red card. That I know is true.

This is important to me as the nearest Target is about 2 hours drive each way for me and therefore not worth it if I have to drive to a store to buy the Disney cards.

Yes, it is true that you can no longer use a Target gift card to buy a Disney gift card on Target.com. I tried a few months ago. Originally, the order went through but was cancelled almost immediately. I called and was told about the new policy not allowing other gift cards to be purchased with a target giftcard on Target.com. It's my understanding that you currently can still use a target gift card to buy a Disney gift card in store.

Yes it's true. You can no longer buy Disney gift cards with Target gift cards online. Save your gas money! (And your time!)

If you go to the page for Disney Gift Cards on Target .com, you'll see this: "You cannot use a Target GiftCard to purchase this card."

Thank you all for your fast answers. I guess I just missed this change. Man I do not like this at all! Yes, I will save the wear and tear on our vehicle and the gas money and not get any Target Cards. Stupid policy if you ask me. I can understand closing the Red Card loop hole but this is just not good business in my book!

I've never used a Target gc to purchase a Disney gc so I want to make sure I understand this correctly.

Can I purchase a Target gc online and then take it in store to buy a Disney gift card?

Yes. But Target could change the policy so that is something to be aware of.
