Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort is among the restaurants subject to the new cancellation policy for Disney restaurants that begins Oct. 26. (Walt Disney World)

LaughingPlace.com has reported a change to the Advance Dining Reservation (ADR) policy at Walt Disney World. Reservations that are made on or after Oct. 26 at 19 of the most popular restaurants are subject to a $10 per person charge if they are not used or canceled in time.
A Disney Dining receptionist explained that a full day’s notice must be given to avoid the cancellation fee. She said that, for example, a reservation made for Oct. 30 must be canceled on Oct. 28 to avoid the fee. Guests will be required to provide a credit card with reservations made on or after Oct. 26.
The restaurants subject to the new policy include:
**1900 Park Fare
**Akershus Royal Banquet Hall
**Artist Point
**California Grill
**Cape May Café
**Chef Mickey’s
**Cítricos
**The Crystal Palace
**Flying Fish Café
**The Garden Grill
**Hollywood & Vine
**Jiko – The Cooking Place
**Le Cellier Steakhouse
**Narcoossee’s
**O’hana
**Tusker House Restaurant
**The Hollywood Brown Derby
**Yachtsman Steakhouse
**Victoria & Albert’s (cancellation policy is $25 per person)
LaughingPlace.com also reports that pre-paid meals with entertainment will continue to charge the full amount if the reservation is not canceled at least a day in advance. Those locations are:
**Cinderella’s Royal Table
**Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show
**Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue
**Mickey’s Backyard BBQ
Finally, if you do need to cancel an ADR, you can do so at any table-service restaurant podium; any resort front desk or concierge; guest relations at any theme park; online at DisneyWorld.com/Dining or by calling 407-WDW-DINE.

Good, it should help reduce ADR's that don't get used by visitors when they double and triple book out of convenience.

:thumbsup2
I completely agree.
We always cancel anyways, but I find it extremely annoying when others book a few restaurants at a time :sad2:

There is a whole long thread about this on the dining reservations board, FYI.

I can sympathize with guests who may legitimately have something come up last minute (a child gets sick, etc.), but for the most part I think it's a good idea. ADRs for the most popular restaurants are hard to come by, and there should be a deterrent to booking multiple ADRs that you know you may not keep. Asking for a day's notice is more than fair, IMO.

Like others have posted there have been some long threads already.

Why you are :scared1:?

I am happy about the change! :thumbsup2

You can thank the ADR abusers, btw. This will actually make it easier to get an ADR, I would think.

Exactly, there's a very loooong thread about this already. Moderators might wanna close this one, we dont need another thread 40 pages long. Lol.

But since im here, I wanted to add that im also happy about this change. They should enforce the rules and slap the $10 pp fine for ppl who dont show, no matter what the excuse. Cause i cant see them making exceptions for one sick family and not another. And once they make one exception, where does it end? Before you know it, everyone will be using the sick excuse. It'll be interesting to see how disney handles this. popcorn::

Closing. There is a dedicated thread on the Dining Reservations Board for discussion of this policy, to prevent there being multiple threads on multiple boards in the Restaurant section. The policy as it is currently known is posted on the first post of that thread.
