We're less than a year out now, so I thought i'd start a PTR for my extended family's bi-annual WDW trip!
It's still pretty far away, but I'm starting the real planning now, and I need a place to organize all my thoughts! :thumbsup2

SO, let's get started with the basics:

DATES:
2/16/2012--2/25/2012

BASIC TRIP SUMMARY:
This February my family will be continuing our decade-long tradition of a bi-annual trip to Walt Disney World, and I could NOT be happier.
Let me start this off by saying that I'm in now way the head of a household--in fact I'm actually the older of 2 teenage daughters in my family of four. Im am, however, the biggest DIS freak and planner! I plan the trips, my parents make them a reality, and for that I am definitely grateful.
We started taking trips to WDW in February 2000, and have been returning then every even year ever since.
In 2004 we were lucky enough to be able to purchase a time share at Orange Lake Resort in Kissimee. We love our little condo there!
Then in 2005 my mother's brother and his family also purchased a time share there for the same week! My uncle, aunt, and 3 younger cousins have been joining us in the world since 2006, in addition to my aunt's mother who joined us last year in 2010, and they will meet us there once again this coming February!

CAST OF CHARACTERS:

Me (17): :cloud9: I've had the WDW countdown going since the 600's, and I've got hours of in-park music loops in my iTunes library. In other words, a DISfreak starting at a young age. God only knows what I'll be like once I start a family of my own.

Sister (14): :lovestruc A little more than 2 1/2 years my junior, my little sister was a ride daredevil even before I was. She LOVES disney, though she is nowhere near as obsessed as yours truly.

Mom & Dad: :woohoo: pirate: love disney, but sometimes get a bit overwhelmed by it all. Therefore, let me do all the planning. Dad loves rides, Mom prefers fantasyland and shows. All and all they enjoy WDW, and keep us coming back!

Aunt & Uncle: :sad2: :thumbsup2 love having the family together in WDW. Uncle is a thrill seeker, and Aunt looks after the younger ones, but they're not so young anymore...

"Grandma":  My aunt's mom, and my cousin's grandma. Loved joining in the family craziness last year! She may be older, but she's still up for some Space Mountain!

Cousin 1 (14): :cool2: The eldest kid of his family and 2 months younger than my sister, he's a self-proclaimed coaster buff who loves disney atmosphere, but universal rides. Loves being able to ride everything!

Cousin 2 (11): :wizard: The middle child. FINALLY can go on every ride! Small for her age, but fiery!

Cousin 3 (9): princess: The youngest of our WDW crew. A disney princess in her own right. Loves characters, the teacups and Dumbo. Definitely a DISlover in training.

Well, that's it for now! I hope I can keep this up until the end! :)
Coming soon: food, flights, fun, and other Disney magic!

Earlier today I used the WDW Info ADR Calculator to determine when I have to start making my family's ADRs and this is the date that popped out:
8/20/11
The problem with that is we'll be in Anaheim, California at that time for the D23 Expo, and to spend some time in DLR! And since our onsite resort will most likely not be booked by then we can't utilize the 180 + 10 rule. :confused3

Oh well, since I'm a devoted DISer I'll happily wake up early on my vacation to ensure that my next vacation is as fabulous as possible! :goodvibes

I highly recommend using the calculator to find your ADR dates to ensure the whole crazy process of making reservations goes smoothly!

Next: a primative list of possible ADRs for your critiquing pleasure!

So, no one's subbed in yet, but that's ok! I've only just begun, and I've got a long way to go. Besides, I still need a place to organize my thoughts and planning, even if no one ever reads this! ;)

Anyway, here is a VERY rough list of ADR's I hope to make. I figured this should be the next logical step in planning since it's the next thing I have to do, at the 180 mark. Getting it ready early ensures that the whole process will go smoothly when the time comes. :thumbsup2

An asterisk (*) is placed next to the Restaurants we have been to before, and enjoyed. The rest are new!
  1. Le Cellier
  2. Biergarten
  3. Boma
  4. Brown Derby (Fantasmic Dinner Package) *
  5. Cinderella's Royal Table *
  6. Ohana
  7. Crystal Palace *
  8. Kona Cafe *
If people decide to come out of lurkdom, I'd be happy to hear what you think of these places!

NEXT: Resorts...

Le Cellier Ate here last Dec love it!!! it was our fist time and we are canadian had to try it to see if it was true. our waitress was so good she was funny and sweet. even smuggled us extra pretzle bread to take for a later snack ;)

Biergarten Want to try here on our big family trip in 2012 let me know how it is we are going to be 20 people were going to take up a whole table no shareing there

Boma Our last day breakfast tradition love it here can't get enough juice

Brown Derby (Fantasmic Dinner Package) * Have never done too cheep with my dinning credits we like mama melrose for our Fantasmic pick

Cinderella's Royal Table * Did this two Dec ago quite liked it now trying to decide if I should do it again with the group as again cheep with dinning credits and found Akershus to be just as good just not "in the castle"

Ohana Have done this twice love it each time nothing beats the feeling of eating dinner and watching & listening to wishes

Crystal Palace Again another breakfast tradition we tried the early entry last Dec with just hubby and I there Didn't really like it as much as when we have done it for Brunch too worried about missing out on that great first hour of rides at RD

Kona Cafe * Have never tried let us know how it is

Hello! So, my planning's been at a bit of a stand still since it's still to far out for me to nail down anything final which has led to my lack of posting here.
