10 months to go and 60 pounds to loose.Update 1/2/11 Page 38

THAT. IS. GREAT!!!!!!!

Awesome job on the weight loss!!!

Thank you!!

So what you are saying you are bringing babysitters with you... genius!! ;)

Hopefully all you rooms will be together.. I'm sure they will. ::yes::

Oh YES! I LOVE when my nieces are all around... It is going to be GREAT! I will have all 4 of them plus all their uncles who they just cant get enough of my kids. It is going to be like Wayne and I are going to Disney with no kids!:rotfl2:

I think I got our transfer paper from Staples and I've gotten t-shirts from K-Mart and Michael's. Michael's had the best deal... I was able to get decent shirts there for $2 each. (With a coupon)

Awesome,Thanks!!

I never thought about doing that. Now you got me thinking I should have.

If you or Wayne have worked with photoshop or any photo editing programs before you can use people's DISigns and just edit in your info. It is very easy and most DISigner have a link to there pics in their siggy. (and they suggest people to use their templates) :thumbsup2

I tried- i am very creative (I went to college for foriculture/horticulture... worked in fwer shops my whole life...) But I CAN'T figure out being creative on the computer.... I tried all week and it is SO frustrating!!!!

:woohoo:WOW!!!! Congratulations!!!! You're doing so well!!!

THANK YOU!!!!

Before I started sewing I used to make iron on T's. I just bought my transfers at Walmart or Staples but I know folks over on the creative board use some ebay source too. I only like 100% cotton Ts. Target & Old Nave have great Ts but can get expesnive for 14 people. I have also used www.jiffyshirts.com They have great prices and wonderful service. I seem to get the T's the day after I order them. I like this Gildan T that cames in woman's, men's and kids: http://www.jiffyshirts.com/women/shortsleeve/gildan/2000L/?idcust=207612621

AWESOME website! $2.00 shirts!!! That is what I was looking for :-) Do I take the design and just print it on a color printer and then the transfer paper would probably have instructions right? I am just so clueless!!

LOVE your slogan!!!!!

I've never sent a donation.

I saw that they posted something about it... I wasnt sure if people do or how much... they have a paypal account... I was thinking ten bucks or something...

Are you on Facebook!? This weather is something huh!? I had posted today on FB that I had to put my heat on! :scared1: I want warm weather!!!

Nickie,
Keep in mind if you buy dark shirts there are different transfers you have to buy which are more expensive than the white shirt transfers.

I would also by an extra shirt or two for mess-ups or at least 1 extra to practice on.

The transfer papers come with instructions. ::yes:: ;)

Keep up the good work!!:flower3:

Are you on Facebook!? This weather is something huh!? I had posted today on FB that I had to put my heat on! :scared1: I want warm weather!!!

Wasn't sure if my post went through as I got an error message but we were rushing out the door to a funeral. It was a 90 year old wonderful woman I used to work for. It was the first funeral I've been to since my brother's. :sad1:

Weather here is crazy! I can't say that I really mind today. I've got a ton I need to do at home and my allergies have been so bad this year that the rain is at least helping that. I hope it warms up again before my trip. Last year it was tough going from 40's here to high 90's down there.

On the T's for the light colored shirts you print mirror image. OH....and I ALWAYS print on paper first to be sure everything is OK before I print on the transfer. There are directions in the package. You are not supposed to use an ironing board because it lets the heat of the iron escape. I have had good luck putting a pillow case on a wooden cutting board and using that on my iron board.

The transfers for dark T's you don't print in reverse. These are more like a piece of plastic. You have to be pretty careful about cutting out these designs as what you don't cut out will be white. After they are cut out you peal the back off and put the design on a T and then cover with parchment paper to iron down. The parchment comes in the box. Some folks prefer these as the colors can be more intense but I prefer the softer feel of the light transfers but you do have to use white or very light Ts.

When I was doing T's it wasn't as "big" as it is now on the Dis. There were just a few designers and most of what I did was NOT personalized. I think those that ask for donations are doing it because they have to pay to keep all those photos online but I'm not sure.

Not on facebook. Yet. When my kids get older I'll have to join so I can tabs on them.;)

Maybe I should start packing! I don't think I will need shorts here before my trip. I was going to try to make Joe an applique T with some sort of Carousel of Progress design but I haven't figured out what sort of design to do and I've decided I really don't need to pressure myself with any projects right now. He still has 4 button down shirts and at least 7 applique T's that still fit him. I'm sure we'll have a very magical trip without any new clothes.

24lbs!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are doing such a great job!!

So, Disney-ME seems to always schedule for 3 hours prior to your flight..hope that helps a little with your planning! I just called ME yesterday to arrange for our tags!! Woot woot!!

I did T-shirts last year from Kellybell DISigns..very cute! It was totally trial and error and I wrecked quite a few shirts. I second that you need to be sure to get the transfers for colored shirts. A second option would be to check with a local screen printing shop. If you are doing a quantity of a certain number, they can usually give you a good price for doing it for you. It seems like by the time I bought the transfers, T-shirts, and spent the time on the shirts, It would have been about the same $$ wise. ($7-$10) Just a thought!

Have a really great weekend and week next week!! Very proud of you:hug:

"We're on a pilgrimage to see a mouse!" Ok, does anyone know where that is from?? Maybe I should tell you the real line was, "We're on a pilgrimage to see a Moose!"

:lmao: Love that movie- what a great quote to use on your shirts! Hmmm, hopefully when you get there you don't hear Mickey say he's closed for 2 weeks for cleaning and repairs :rotfl:

Hey!! I am so sorry about the funeral- I am sure it brought right back lot's of feelings. I remember going to a funeral after my dad died and all I could think of was my dad and it was like it was his funeral again... :sad1:

Thank you so much for the info on the shirts!!! I am excited to try them out!

Thanks Jill!! Thanks for the info on the shirts too! Do you have any pics? I will look into a print shop to compare prices... but I am kind of looking forward to the project. Being a SAHM I find I need projects or I just spend mad money!!

CONGRATULATIONS!! You are such an inspiration. Iron-ons, these are rumored to be the best http://www.amymickey.com/ironontransfer_page.html which is what I am planning on using. She is a DISigner but does not do any Disney designs anymore since she sells transfers. DISers rave about them as being the best on the market.

Thanks!!! I just looked on her webpage and think I will be orering from Amy Mickey!! I have to make around 25 shirts !:scared1:

:lmao: Love that movie- what a great quote to use on your shirts! Hmmm, hopefully when you get there you don't hear Mickey say he's closed for 2 weeks for cleaning and repairs :rotfl:

Thanks I will tell Wayne!! I hope they come out ok!

I have two designs I need to choose from for the group shirts. I will make 14 of these. I need to choose between the two mickey head designs below.... they both will have the "we're on a pilgrimage to see a mouse" on the back.
Which would you choose!!?

This would have to be on a white t shirt I think.... (designed by Tatalee)

This one could go on a navy shirt or white?? I have no clue! (Designed by Wendypooh)

Ok which one do you think!!?? Any design tips ?

Ooooooh, I like them both! The second one would probably show up a little better. What about putting it on a red shirt? Red just makes for such great group shots! So cute! I have not seen this DISign and trust me, I have looked at TONS of them!!!!!

Nice DISigns!! I think I like the first one better, but they are both really cute! I like the 1st one because they have the first names on them and the 2nd one is harder to read with the words being in the Mickey head with all of the characters. I think if the 2nd one just had your 1st name in the head then said Goody Family Vacation 2011 under the head it would look better. Maybe make one of each as a test and see which one shows up best! Did that make any sense?:confused3
