Just a bit of background about us. My DH and I are both adventurous eaters. My DD is a fussy vegetarian.

12/26/2007

Boma – 8/10 – I always look forward to Boma’s. I love the food there and my DD can always find enough to eat too. I used to really LOVE the soups but about 2 years ago they started to taste pasty instead of thickened. I think it’s because they stopped using a traditional roux and substituted agar or corn starch. They had my favorite dessert anywhere ... coconut tiramisu. Yum!!!

12/27/2008
Yak & Yeti Counter Service – 2/10 – Yuck. My DH had some asian meat dish on rice and I had shrimp on lo mein noodles. The shrimp was OK, but the rest was just “eh”. I ordered an egg roll kids meal for my DD and I gave her some of my noodles. The egg roll was the best part of the meal. I saw lots of adults ordering kids hamburger meals. I don’t think the current menu will stick around for long. The food was so bad, that we cancelled an ADR at the TS side.

Pizza Planet – 7/10 – This was a pleasant surprise for me. The pizza was actually pretty good and the service was very quick. They made us order “meals” including salads in order to use our CS credits.

12/28/2007
Sunshine Seasons – 8/10 – I LOVE this place! I adore the grilled tuna salad and that’s what I get on every trip. My DH also got the salad and my DD ordered mac-n-cheese. A loss of a point due to mushy mac-n-cheese. It seems that is a persistent problem across WDW.

Teppan Edo – 8/10 – Still very good! I had the scallops, my DH the steak. We ordered shrimp for my DD and she ate our appetizers (edamame & miso soup) plus rice and veggies. We ate her shrimp. The scallops were a bit overcooked.

12/29/2007
Columbia Harbor & Pinocchio Village Haus – 7/10 – I had the hummus sandwich and my DH had fried fish. His fish was too fishy … my guess is the oil was too old. Nothing for my DD to eat and she didn’t want mac-n-cheese. I picked her up a uncrustables PB&J from Pinocchio’s.

Liberty Tree Tavern – 1/10 – This was possibly the worst meal I have ever eaten at WDW. The salad was boring. The meat and dressing was dry. The gravy was congealed. The mac-n-cheese was mushy and inedible. The mashed potatoes were the best thing there and earned the place a point. Oh, the character interaction was rushed and indifferent. The bill was over $100 for three of us. Total highway robbery.

12/30/2007
Brown Derby – 9/10 – Great meal! We ate lunch here instead of going to Animal Kingdom for the Gackin’ Yeti TS meal. We paid OOP for my Cobb Salad so we could keep it a 2 credit meal v/s a 1 credit meal. We shared Goat Cheese Cremini Mushroom Tortellini and the Creme Brulee. My DH had the Pan Fried Grouper. My DD had the grilled cheese.

12/31/2007
Lottawatta Lodge @ Blizzard Beach – 6/10 – Standard CS fare. My DH and I had a burger. We ordered a cheese pizza for my DD. She ate the whole thing. They didn’t appear to be tracking adult/child CS credits and we were done with mac-n-cheese at WDW.

Mama Melrose
– 6/10 – Just OK. I wasn’t wild about this place. We paid OOP for my DD because we used her last credit the day before. We started with the Artisan Breads and Spreads which were really boring. The spreads were not tasty and the bread was just regular bread and not “artisan” in any way. We also had the Calamari which was OK and plentiful. Too much for one serving and we didn’t eat it all. My DD had the minestrone soup which was the star of the whole meal. I had the Pork Marsala, also just OK. My DH’s steak was better. My DD had spaghetti which she liked. Dessert was Crema Limone and Gelato. The Crema Limon was good, but the gelato was nasty. We won’t be back.

1/1/2008
ESPN Club, Bar Area – 7/10 – I was there for the Outback Bowl. We paid OOP for this meal but only had bar snacks such as fries and nachos. The beer was good and the snacks OK. I wish the Wisconsin Badgers had won, but that was not to be.

Tutto Italia – 8/10 – Very good meal! Much better than Mama Melrose. My DH started with antipasto and I had soup (I can’t remember what kind and the menu has changed). Both were good. My DH had a veal ravioli and I had pasta tubes filled with cheese and spinach with a cheese/cream sauce. My DD had spaghetti. I had canolli and it was not as good as I had heard. The inside was OK, but the outside a bit soggy. We ordered cappuccino for dessert and it was not included on the DDP and we had to pay OOP for it, so we never had our free drink with the meal as we had wine with dinner. I wish I had known that because I might have just ordered regular coffee instead.

1/2/2008
Crystal Palace – 8/10 – Good meal and great character interaction. Lots of things are on the buffet.and all of them were good. The dessert table was slammed about the same time as we got to it. I waited only a few minutes and it was replenished. I really liked the lemon squares … yum! We all walked away stuffed.

1/3/2008
Sunshine Seasons -- 9/10 – Tuna salad for my again, PB&J for my DD and chicken for my DH. We wisely skipped the mac-n-cheese.

Narcoosee's – 10/10 – Great meal and great service! My DH started with crab cakes and I had the bisque. My DH had the surf and turf and I had the whole Maine lobster. I convinced them to serve me the thing whole as my favorite part is the body meat. Yum! My DD had the fruit cup and pasta. She ate it all. We finished with Almond-crusted Cheesecake and my DH had the Warm Chocolate Almond Gateau … both were great. The cheesecake reminded me of a Good Humor Toasted Almond bar. There were two minuses to the meal that were not the fault of the restaurant. The first was a fussy baby who cried for about 45 minutes until the family finally left. The other was that Wishes was delayed over 30 minutes. We hung around anyway in the cold and waited for it. They now have benches on the balcony in front of the “prime” tables so people can sit and not block the view of the people inside.

1/4/2008
Pecos Bill’s – 5/10 – Standard CS meal. We all had burgers. My DD’s veggie burger was nasty. She ate the fries and my strawberry yogurt dessert.

Biergarten --- 8/10 – I always have a great time here, but we always get stuck with people who are shocked with our liter mugs of Weiss bier. We’re from Wisconsin and we like German food and beer and we like to polka and Chicken Dance. It was a fun “last dinner” but we stuffed ourselves.

1/5/2008
Wolfgang Puck Express & Earl of Sandwich – 8/10 – Both are very good CS meals. My DH had chicken, I had a sausage flatbread pizza and my DD had pasta. We ordered the Cobb Salad and Caprice wraps from EoS and PB&J for my DD. We packed the sandwiches in our cooler for dinner as we were driving home that day. They were soggy when we eventually ate them, so I would skip on the wraps next time and go for a regular sandwich. The oatmeal cookies rocked!

Thanks for the reviews. I think Narcoosee's is going on my list for next time!;)

Thanks for sharing your reviews. Very disappointing to read about Liberty Tree Tavern, we have an ADR there in a few weeks. :sad2:

Wow Robin you just had me cross a few off the list.
I think I'll still give Gackin Yeti a try just because it is new.
A? Have the buns at Pecos gone whole wheat? Big discussion about what they did to the Casey Dogs over the holiday.
Welcome back.

Welcome back.
Thanks :). I really do think the TS Gackin' is going to be better than the CS one so I think you'll be OK. I do not recall a whole wheat bun at Pecos ... just the regular ones. I did like the addition of the yogurt to the dessert menu. I recall that their previous desserts were horrible.

I didn't hear about Casey's. It looks like I have some catching up to do! We usually eat there once per trip, but didn't.

Thanks for your great reviews! I need to add Narcoosee's to our list for Dec.

great reviews - lots of detail!

agree about the almond crusted cheesecake at narcoosees - tastes just like a good humor toasted almond bar!!!

It was amazing. I was transported right back to day camp back in the 1970's when my mom would give me a quarter per say for the Good Humor ice cream truck. I felt like I was 10-years old again and just about licked the plate! Then I remembered I was pushing 50 and maybe I should stick to licking the fork.

Thanks for posting your reviews.

We're going to try Biergarten for the first time next month and can't wait. Those liter mugs sound like a must do! :drinking1

Great reviews, Liberty Tree was one of out top favorite you must of had a off day it was sooo good when we were there during MNSSHP. May of been because it was so packed that the food was so fresh..I am usually not one for made up mac and cheese and I loved the mac and cheese there.:cloud9:

I wouldn't put too much thought to one bad review. People are so different when it comes to food. Everyone has such unique tastes and opinions. Most of the reviews of LTT are good and I can personally tell you that we ate there on our last trip and enjoyed it, and already have ADRs for May of this year.

I agree that one review should not change someone's mind and I suggest that swankybeth should look at other reviews before making a final decision. I have read both good and bad reviews about LTT. I do hope that it was just a "bad night". I know that I was pretty disappointed because we were really looking forward to our meal there.

2 times ago I would agree with LTT but last time we went it was pretty good. I had LOOOOW expectations so maybe that is why I was ok with it. It seemed very "stouffers" to me- and really salty (I am on low salt at home so when I taste salt I really taste it)
But LTT is what it is- basic tv dinner kind of food to me. But ok and the characters were always good when we went- especially chip and dale.
Go you'll have fun. It won't be blow your mind kind of food but at MK there really isn't much of a choice anyway.

We'll skip it this time just as it was not our "favorite" character meal. And we are choosing to do only one this time.

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for posting.
