10 days of SSR, F&W & MNSSHP....LOTS of PICS

More great updates! Sounds like a LONG day at DHS. We also usually don't stay all day anywhere either, so I am exhausted thinking about it. The hot tub would have been the perfect remedy for my tired legs. Can't wait to read more. :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: I have to ask who is the blonde behind you wearing the crown in the Crystal Palace pic??

I am really enjoying your TR...only 13 more days for us....4 more to the single digit dance

DH and I are still debating that to this day! We weren't even sure if it was a boy or a girl!! :rotfl2: Have a great trip! We miss going during the holidays this year, but we are planning it for next year!

:thumbsup2 That is the prettiest Snow White I have ever seen...she has the perfect face for that character.
Have to agree there! One of the best ones we've ever seen also!

We do love the hot tub!! :thumbsup2

Well, it's Tuesday morning and it was time for AK. DH loves AK so we were up and out the door early. We arrived at AK by 9:15am and make a bee line for the Safari. DH insists on doing the safari the minute we walk in the park and we have yet to be disappointed! The animals were quite active and we got a few good pics!

While walking around, we ran into Divine! It's always amazing to see her!

AK was not the least bit crowded and we were able to ride EE twice in a row and grabbed a FP for later. We also rode Dinosaur twice. Don't know why the line for Primeval Whirl was so long, so we skipped it for now! We also walked around and got some good photos!

We even met a new friend! We've actually never seen Meeko and apparantly, Stitch was taking a bit longer of a break than expected so this was a nice surprise!

We then went and used our FP for EE and by now it was around 1pm and we were starved so we decided it was time to head out! CS at AK is actually worse than at DHS, so we hopped a bus back home to SSR and walked over to Earl of Sandwich!! YUM!! After lunch we went home, grabbed our suits and went up to the High Rock Springs pool for a bit! After our swim, we went home, showered and went out to the bus stop to go to MK then over to GF for dinner. At this time, our friends had called, finally, so that we could meet up at MNSSHP. We got over to MK pretty quickly and hopped on the monorail over to GF. Here is where our evening starts to go down hill. We had a 5:20pm ressie for 1900 Parke Fair. We arrived at 5:10pm and checked in. 2 large parties checked in (40 minutes early, per their admission) after us. Long story short, at 5:50pm, DH and I hadn't been seated, but both large parties had been seated long before their ressie time. The CMs were rather rude, didn't even apologize and had no idea when we could be seated. DH and I turned in our beeper and went to the CS place at GF and had burgers, which weren't bad and $70 cheaper than dinner would have been. Thank goodness we had TIW and not DDP otherwise we may still be waiting for a table! By 6:30pm we had arrived at MK for party #2 and we had planned on spending the evening with our friends. They were running late (in their defense, they have 3 small children) so DH and I got in line to Mickey and Minnie.

Our friends got in touch with us as soon as we finished with Mickey and Minnie so we went to meet up with them. We did the Alice Trick or Treat trail and rode Buzz. At this point DH decides to run over to Emporium for pins (we missed out the previous party) and we had all planned to meet up at Tiana. Well, the best laid plans....DH got there long before we did because we needed a pit stop then had to go all the way around due to the Villians show. No DH. Long story short after 1 HOUR and 2 trips to guest services, DH calls. Well, DH left his phone in our villa which could only mean 1 thing...DH went home...with ALL of our ID, credit cards, money, tickets and room keys! I could have done something to him that I won't post here because it's a family place! Well, DH eventually came back, our friends were a bit crazed because we all thought this party was frantic for some reason (too much to do and not enough time to do it) While DH was en route back to MK, our friends and I rode the carpets, met Tianna and Naveen and watched the parade. The fireworks were starting as DH came back. After DH was returned to the group (with all of our cash, id, credit cards, room tickets and his phone!) we went over to meet some of the Villians while our friends took their kids back to Fantasyland.

After the Villians (our friend's kids weren't too excited to meet the Villians) we met back up with them at Donald and Daisy. We then went back to see Mickey and Minnie and while the CM looked at me funny (as in how did you know that?) We were fortunate enough to get Mickey and Minnie in their other outfits. Here is the next snafu for the evening...our friends photopass card was somehow lost and since they had just gotten it, they hadn't written down the number or taken a pic of it. Here's are pics from our meets!

We didn't realize the missing photopass card until after we were walking out, so I took the two girls on the Barnstormer, which they loved and were super excited because not only did they get to ride in the front seat, we got to ride twice in a row as there wasn't anyone in line. After the Barnstormer, our friend Vince decided to take their youngest and go to guest services to see if they could somehow find their pics while Missy went with their girls and DH and I to ride HM. Disaster strikes again when her DD4 got a bloody nose for no apparant reason and it was a bad one! She wound up leaving to find her DH and then go home to BLT. DH and I hit a couple of trick or treat stands (they are quite generous after 11pm) and rode HM then POTC. After POTC, we'd had enough, it was nearly midnight and time to out an end to this evening! I should mention that our friends actually used to live across the street from DH and I. They moved right after their DS was born as their old house was a bit small for all of them. We were quite excited when they bought BLT because we referred them to our guide and DH and I got a nice referral bonus!! After they found out we had booked for this trip, they booked most of the same week so that we could all hang out at "our other houses" as we say!

Up next...break day...or so we thought!!!

We've made it to Wednesday and we're actually a bit on the tired side from all of the craziness of this trip. We vowed to stop "going commando" when we bought DVC, but we seemed to have thrown that out window for this trip. We did sleep in this morning and arrived at BB around 10:30am. BB wasn't crowded at all and we had a great time enjoying all of the waterslides and the wave pool. We decided to have lunch at BB at Avalunch and for CS, it was pretty tasty. On the way out, we had to have our mini-doughnuts! Can't live without mini-doughnuts!! We headed home to SSR around 3pm, cleaned up then went over to DTD for a bit. Here's a few pics from DTD.

We were meeting our friends at Ohana for dinner at 5:30pm so we went over to get a bus. We had planned to get off at Contemporary as we were going to see our friend's villa at BLT, however, the bus was not cooperating so we just went to Poly. Our friends met us at Poly and we had a great time at Ohana! After dinner, our friends' parents took their kids back to BLT and the four of us headed over to Epcot for EMH. We arrived at Epcot around 7pm and despite being stuffed from dinner, we started visiting some of the F&W booths (for adult beverage of course!) We did watch Illuminations, which DH and I hadn't seen in many years and it was a little disappointing. Not as good as we'd remembered. After Illuminations, we continued enjoying adult beverages around the world!

Around 10:30pm (and after quite a bit of :drinking1) we got the great idea to take advantage of little to no wait on the rides. We did TT, decided MS was probably not a great idea, then went over to Soarin. I should mention that DH is the only human I know of that doesn't like Soarin. He thought it wouldn't be so bad after our partaking, however, as our flight was over, DH said "Note to self...do not ride anything that plays tricks on your brain after that much beer!" :lmao::lmao: By now it was nearly midnight so we made our way home. Funny thing....although our friends were on the monorail line and we weren't we actually beat them home!

Up next: Round 2 at AK, a member event and finally managed to complete our passport!

It's Thursday and we've decided to start our day at AK. Getting close to the end of the trip so we're in "I wanna do it one more time" mode. We found out from our friends that Jiminy Cricket was out at Conservation Station and since we haven't been to that part of the park for many years, we went up there this morning. We also saw Pochohantas and Rafiki! The park was empty this morning and we did a safari, rode EE 3 times, Dinosaur twice and Primeval Whirl. Here's a few pics of our new friends!

After we'd taken care of our "I wannas" we hopped a bus over to BLT. Our guide had called us earlier in the week and asked if we wanted to attend a member event. We said sure, not knowing anything about it. Our friends enlightened us about the event (courtesy of their time in their hot tub at BLT) so we were glad we decided to go. The member event was held at TOWL and it was pretty impressive. We got the coveted DVC FP...:cool1: which we had learned about ahead of time and had big plans for those! The event included a nice DVC reusable bag, prizes and some finger foods. We also received limited edition DVC pins. It was a nice way to spend 90 minutes. Wish we hadn't done an add on a month before we left as we may have done a bit better, but oh well! Here's a pic we took from TOWL.

[/IMG]

After the event we grabbed the monorail and went over to Epcot with the plan to (finally) finish our F&W passport, which we did. Also picked up the beverages we planned to take home. We even got to meet Stephen Twinnings in the UK shop!! Had him sign my tea boxes! Not I just have to remember not to accidently throw it out!

DH REALLY wanted to eat at ESPN, so we walked over and had dinner. Not my favorite place for a meal, but it's DH's trip too....:rolleyes1
After dinner, we did ride MS-orange again and took our last spin on TT. After we were done riding and shopping it was home to SSR to rest up for our full day! We did make it to the hot tub and our new friends were hanging.

Up next: Our last full day, 2 in a row on TSM (thank you DVC) and our last MNSSHP for this trip!

Thanks for creating such a great trip report! I just found & I'm happy that I did! It has me sooooo excited about doing the F&W seminars & MNSSHP for the first time next month!

Haven't been on the boards lately and I just stumbled on your TR. Read it all tonight. Very entertaining and great pics. Sounds like you guys had a fantastic time. You convinced me to go for Halloween

Thanks for sharing! Enjoying your TR!

Thank you!

Thanks! I'm so angry at the airlines right now. DH and I were going to do a quick 5 day trip just for MNSSHP and F&W, but we couldn't bring ourselves to pay nearly $700 for 5 days at WDW.

Make sure you take DD!! I think she'd be bummed to miss it!! We had a great trip!

I may as well finish my TR! :rotfl2::rotfl2: Friday morning we made DHS at RD after a quick breakfast of Mouse Waffles! We dropped our gear into lockers and used our DVC FP for 2 trips on TSM. DH and I each took a pass and got 2 FP with it. So after I beat twice ( I keep telling him he should practice on the Wii:rolleyes1) After TSM, we used our regular AP to grab FP for RNR and since TOT was still walk on, we used our DVC FP so we could ride RNR twice. We went over and rode TOT twice, then rode RNR twice. DH was still bummed about missing ST however, we more than made up for that during our most recent trip in May. We left DHS around 1pm and decided to head home to SSR for a bit. We wound up at DTD where we each purchased the Mickey team shirts...OSU for me and that rotten school up north (aka Michigan) for DH. We also had lunch at Earl of Sandwich...boy do we love the Earl! We walked back home, picked up our last shipment of shopping and when we arrived home we had 2 small disasters. The first was that my F&W shot glass was broken, the second was that the shirts were awfully small and while mine fit, DH's was too small. Ok...so we decide to run back to the gift shop to see about getting our glass replaced...we've had items broken maybe 3 times in all the years we've been going to Disney so we didn't figure we'd have a problem then we'd hop the boat, run back over to Team Mickey and just grab a bus to Contemporary and walk to MK for our last party. Boy were we ever wrong! We went up to our gift shop to encounter the rudest CM and manager we've ever seen at WDW anywhere. Basically, we were told that it was our problem because we couldn't prove the item broken was anyone's fault but our own.:headache: I managed to keep my temper in check and we walked to DTD so I could cool off even though it was 90 degrees out! We went to Team Mickey and they did not have a shirt in DH's size and they gladly took the shirt back and refunded us. I was still mad and crabbing about having to run to Epcot and it turns out, a manager was who was taking care of us and asked what happened. I explained to the manager what happened and he asked if we could wait a few minutes. Sure. Well, this man was a saint sent from Walt himself! Not only did he take care of getting our glass replaced, he was having it sent to our gift shop for us. :woohoo: I thanked this kind man profusely and we left the shop and as we were walking up to the bus stop, the Contemporary bus was pulling in. We arrived there within the next 15 minutes then walked over to MK. I should mention that DH brought his obnoxiously bright Michigan shirt so he wore that instead. We made it to MK by 5:30pm and decided we were hungry. Our options were limited so we wound up eating at Tony's. This was the WORST MEAL EVER!! EVER!! In 12 years!! The service was good, but that is the nicest thing I can say about this place. We were out of there in less than an hour and spent the next hour just enjoying MK before our 3rd and final MNSSHP!!

I forgot to mention that at dinner our hostess was from Michigan and our server was from Ohio State, so we did at least have fun despite how bad the food was. Well, now it's 7pm and the party is starting. Our goals for this party were to catch the last couple of characters that we had missed, ride our backsides off and get some candy! Boy did we succeed! We also found out that our friends had decided to do a second night minus their little guy and one set of parents. DH and I went over to POTC and ran into their DD and the set of parents that went to the party. Turns out, our friends were on POTC. We just missed them, but we did meet up afterward and all got a few more pics together and rode together for a bit. Here are few pics.

Our friends decided they wanted see the fireworks and parade again (we caught a little but not much) and despite their DD wanting to hang out with DH and I, we all split up and we would not see our friends again until we got home. Here are the rest of our character pics:

We spent the rest of the evening riding and trick or treating. All in all, BEST party we've attended at WDW EVER!! We really love MVMCP and P&PP, but hands down, the Halloween party is the best! It took us all 3 nights to really see and do everything. Up next...our last day!

It's Saturday morning and alas our last day. We finished packing up and called for Bell Services who arrived pretty quickly. We went to the airline check in and for some reason they were not able to check us. I was NOT happy as we had a ton of luggage and we each had 2 carry ons so we had a lot of stuff to lug through Orlando airport later in the day. Also due to the delays, I got cheated out of my last day Mouse waffle. The line at AP was ridiculous (one person had been complaining that she had been in line for nearly 45 minutes and still wasn't up to the ordering section) so I settled on cereal and DH got a bagel. We made it to MK around 10am and were lucky enough to see the White rabbit so we got pics with him.

[/IMG]

We also FINALLY got to see Ariel!!

Photo0436FourBySix.jpg
[/IMG]

We spent the day pigging out on Casey's, popcorn and Dole Whips. We also got some snacks from the Confectionary. DH has been letting me buy one of the huge Mouse-Krispie snacks (to make up for missing out on my breakfast!) and then it was time to head out. On our way out, we got one last photo (DH thinks this one is hilarious of me pouting)

Photo0442FourBySix.jpg
[/IMG]

We made it back to SSR with 10 minutes to spare so we picked up our luggage and carry ons and then that rotten ME ride pulled up! (Mind you...I LOVE ME when we arrive...leaving...well..not so much!) and after a quick ride to the airport and quite a struggle with all of our junk, we grabbed some food and soon it was time to get on the plane and head home!

Thanks to everyone who followed this TR. This was one our best trips ever and hopefully, we'll get to do a long one in Oct again.
