10 days of SSR, F&W & MNSSHP....LOTS of PICS

Really enjoy reading the updates on your trip! Glad to hear that the crowds were very manageable during your trip. We were at WDW from 9/29 to 10/11, and crowds weren't bad, except for Toy Story Mania at Hollywood Studios. Other rides at DHS had 10-20 minute wait times, but TSM was routinely 60+ minute wait times. Did you encounter the same crowds at TSM?

DHS was by far the most crowded we encountered all week! TSM was never less than 80 minutes and that park was busy no matter what day we were there. Fantasmic or no Fantasmic. We most definitely had to use FP at that park both days we were there. Maybe it's because that park is so small and there really isn't all that much to do there. DHS is coming up soon! Thanks for hanging in there with us!

Great updates! Can't wait to read and see pictures from MNSSHP. I am so sorry your husband got wet on Maelstrom. We've never gotten wet on that ride either. Must be that troll in action. :scared1:

We are thinking of that weekend (before Halloween weekend) for the MNSSHP next year - did you mean you were there for 10/22 (fri) or 10/24(sun) night party? There wasn't a party on 10/23 this year. Can't wait to hear how the party crowds were. Thanks!

We attended the party on 10/26 and it was very crowded. I had heard the week before was better.

Congrats on your Anniversary

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your wonderful vacation.
I Love Love Love all your pics with the characters. :thumbsup2

We're heading down in 17 days can't wait. :santa:

Had to have been the troll! We never did ride it again this trip!

None of the parties were overly crowded, even the one on Friday night.

Congrats on your Anniversary

Thanks! We have some old pics of our villa and view. our view was pretty crummy this trip, usually we have a very nice DTD view, but beggars can't be picky! :rotfl2: I will post some at the end of the TR for you! We love CP not only because the views of DTD are awesome, but it's less than 5 minutes to walk to DTD.

Well, after DH changed his pants....:lmao:...we headed out to the bus stop to make our way to MK and once again a bus pulled right up as we walked over. I have to say that this was probably the best trip we've had in a long time for the buses. We never waited more than 10 minutes coming or going!
We arrived at MK, got our wristbands and dropped gear off at the locker. Now it was time to shop for costumes. I picked up a cute Halloween shirt and the Minne Witch headband with attached bat. DH....well....he was Goofy! (or more like his normal self...:lmao:) He got the character costume shirt and matching Goofy hat and ears! After our shopping and quick change in the little boy and girl rooms it was time for dinner at CP. Dinner was a bit disappointing as the food wasn't as good as it's been in recent years. We even got a little cupcake to celebrate our anniversary. Here are some pics from dinner.

We finished dinner around 6:30pm and immediately went to get in line for the dwarfs. We'd done our homework and knew that would be the long line for the evening. Our plan for tonight was to see as many characters as possible and get as many pics as possible, since we had 3 parties. We also wanted to see the parade and fireworks tonight. We had about 15 families in front of us and before we knew it, our ghost host was kicking everyone out of the park and out came the dwarfs!

After the dwarfs, the Hag was out over by Snow White ride so we went to meet her. Incidently, this was the only time we saw her between all 3 parties!

We went over to see the Villians show and try to meet some of the Villians after. This was probably the worst experience of all of the parties. Very unorganized and pure chaos! I would have thought the CMs would have done a better job at helping people to line up, but not so much. We did meet Jafar and then disaster struck. The gentleman that was helping us get our pics (we did the same for him) dropped our camera in the shuffle. Thankfully, we only lost one picture and our camera wasn't damaged. I felt really bad for him. It really was an accident and he was writing down his name and phone number in case our camera was broken in order to replace it, which we told him wasn't necessary!

We staked out a spot on Main St for the fireworks and absolutely LOVED them! By far, the BEST fireworks we have ever seen at WDW, EVER! Including Wishes, HolidayWishes and the fireworks from P&PP.

When the fireworks were over we grabbed snacks and staked out a spot for the parade. LOVED IT!! Thankfully, we received a bonus pic of the headless horseman because our pics didn't come out very well!

After the parade, we went over to see Cindy's coach and to get our "magic" shots with our hitchhiking friends! We did manage to go to a couple of trick or treat stations and we did wind up riding POTC and HM.

On our way to the gate, we noticed that Tarzan and Co. were on the porch with very little wait so we stopped to meet them!

Now it was nearly midnight so we called it a night. Picked up our junk out of our locker and managed to get a bus within 10 minutes and it was back home to SSR. Our joke for the evening was how long the SSR line was...thankfully there were multiple buses coming in. We decided that it must have been SSR night at MNSSHP!

Up next....our first day at DHS!

This has been so much fun reading your trip report. Great photo's too.:thumbsup2

Sorry...should have thrown out a better disclaimer! This photo was included on our photopass cd as a bonus!
Loved it. Thanks for posting!
Thank you!

Great TR!!!
Thanks and thank some photopass photographer for the great headless horseman shot! My shot didn't come out so nice! :scared1:

The photos are great and yes those Photopass photographers do some awesome work. I love how they added the ghosts to the photos.

As to crowds I had heard from others the week before we went, which was when you were there was less crowded than the week of Halloween. We had that week booked and hubby gave it up to someone from work. We also got record heat in the 90's.

Next time I am keeping what I book, :headache:

Now it's Monday and we are a bit tired from the whirlwind weekend. Plan was to sleep in a bit, but that didn't happen to well. We managed to get over to DHS by 9:30am and was able to secure a FP for TSM (at 2:30pm!) I don't why this park always seems so crowded! We waited stand-by for RNR which the line said 40 minutes, but our mobile app said 25 and it wound up being
30. Not too bad. TOT was walk on so we did it twice then we were able to pick up another FP for RNR. DHS is not usually an all day park for us unless we have company. We've seen all of the shows many times and since there haven't been any real updates at this park, we tend to skip quite a bit. After our second ride on TOT, we walked around a bit and spent some time catching up with the characters. One thing about DHS...there are some awesome character opportunities! We also spent some time shopping and just enjoying the park since we weren't in a rush today.

We stopped and grabbed some snacks in leiu of lunch because let's face it...CS leaves something to be desired at DHS! It was finally time for TSM (in which I beat DH again!:lmao: he has yet to beat me!!) Then it was time for RNR again. Finally it was chow time at 50's Prime Time! We have grown to love this place and were a bit disappointed because our server wasn't really in character, but it was an excellent meal! After dinner we had a little time to kill before the long wait for Fantasmic so we hopped in the Great Movie Ride. We also managed to grab FP for TOT and RNR for after Fantasmic! (another benefit of the mobile app.) and we planned that out quite well! We did the 75 minute wait, but we are picky and have to have "our" seats...Section Sorcerer Mickey, about 10 rows up! After we found our seats, DH went out to get our fave Fantasmic snack...caramel corn!! After Fantasmic (it was now EMH) we used our FP for TOT and RNR! We got a neat pic (thanks to the CM working TOT that night) and then got another on our way out.

We left around 9:30pm, it was kind of a weird day because we usually don't spend all day at DHS, even when we have company. A bus was waiting for us as we walked out. We went home and threw in a load of laundry. Always swore I'd NEVER to laundry on vacation.....:rolleyes1 'Course we didn't have a villa then either....:cloud9: After the washer was going we went down to join our new friends in the hot tub. Let me tell you, the hot tub at the CP quiet pool is quite the happening place! We hung out for about and hour, went back upstairs, put laundry in the dryer, showered and went to bed!

Up next: AK, DTD and MNSSHP...round 2....and a day filled with snafus!

UGH!! I would have made them pay for it!! DH's work has tried a few times to mess with our Disney plans and so far...knock on wood...it's been more talk than action!

:rotfl2: I have to ask who is the blonde behind you wearing the crown in the Crystal Palace pic??

I am really enjoying your TR...only 13 more days for us....4 more to the single digit dance

:thumbsup2 That is the prettiest Snow White I have ever seen...she has the perfect face for that character.
