Last day in the Wonderful World of Disney! Always a sad day, but this trip I did not feel exhausted the entire time since we managed to get a couple of "do nothing" days into the schedule.
We woke fairly early, headed out to get coffee/tea and breakfast and relax one last time in the courtyard by the pool. I love spending time outside relaxing. There really isn't any place in the room to relax, besides the bed, so outside it is.
Came back to finish packing. What a disaster! I really did not buy all that much, but I did buy breakables which had to go on the plane in our carry ons. Problem was that I did not plan to bring so much back on the plane. We finally got everything packed and ready to go to the Custom House to check in for the plane and drop off our luggage at 11 am. Nothing like waiting until the last minute to check out of the room! No problems with dropping off the luggage and we left our carryons with the will call? desk.
Then we headed over to catch the bus to our must do last day park - MK.
We had a reservation at Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch at 12:30.
Oh yeah, nothing like waiting until the last day to try to book a bounceback offer... the system was down and I'd have to call back later....
We got to the park and rode the train around to Frontierland, walked through Frontierland to Adventureland and rode POTC and then it was time for lunch.
I debated between LTT and the Plaza, but the D~ raved so much about the Freedom Pasta that I just had to try it. Charlie had the pot roast.
The pasta was yummy - I would definitely get it again. C liked his pot roast too.
While we were at lunch I tried to call for the bounceback offer. The cm I talked to earlier gave me a number to call, so I thought I'd try it one more time. The cm I talked to this time transferred me to the
travel agent site, where I was on hold for a loooooong time before I finally hung up. My phone battery was low and I knew I wasn't going to be able to call and be put on hold again. Thought I'd just wait until we got back to the resort and check then.
Charlie had the chocolate cake for dessert and I had the Johnny Appleseed Cake - I think we both took one or two bites - I ate the ice cream that came with mine - there's ALWAYS room for ice cream. We had plenty to eat this week!
We went over to the Carousel of Progress one more time - I love that show! and rode the HM, and POTC one last time before it was time to head back to the resort and catch the ME to the airport.
This is always a sad sight to see:
We got back to the Custom House and I went in to check to see if I could book the bounceback and of course, they could not do anything there. The cm told me to call the WDW Disney number once I got home and see if they could help me. Ok, then, maybe we would not be able to get the bounceback offer.....
Got on the ME and we were the first stop at the airport. No trouble going through security and we did not have long to wait for boarding. Except for the obnoxious woman carrying on a long phone conversation loud enough for EVERYONE in the terminal to hear..... Lucky us, she was sitting across from us and was on the same plane.
Arrived home about 10 pm and took the shuttle bus to the long term parking lot. On the bus I struck up a conversation with a young lady (about 5 years old) who was telling all about her favorite princess - Ariel. LOL
The rest of the trip home was uneventful and I was happy to sleep in my own bed
We went early on Sunday morning to pick up my babies (the doggies!) We were so anxious to get them, that we got there before they were open

but lucky for us, we did not have go home and come back later. The dogs are always well cared for at doggie camp, and apparently had a good time. I didn't hear any complaints from either one!
So on Sunday morning I called the WDW Disney number just to see if anyone would be able to help me with the bounceback offer. The first cm I talked to transferred me to the travel agent site again. I hung up and called back and once again explained that I tried to book it while on site and the system was down. This cm was very helpful and transferred me to the right department - the bounceback department! and I was able to take advantage of the free dining promotion for our next trip! More on that in my next PTR, which should be up in a week or so.
I know, I'm getting to be just like D~ - though I will admit that her trip reports are much more exciting than mine.
So, stay tuned for more exciting news.....
Here are some pictures I forgot to post from the Dessert Party - another must do again on our list for next trip:
