10 days of fun in the sun!

First off - I LOVE the bags you made! They turned out fantastic!

And I love the shirts you did for AK - those are great as well.

It looks like you had a great breakfast at Tusker House and and great AK day so far. :)

D~

amazing!!! I love everything! EVERYTHING!!!
the pictures are great the bags are awesome!!! i love the Donald tee shirts too!!! i haven't seen the tiger up and around.. that's fantastic!!!! :cool1:
you two are just adorable!!!!

Thanks! I forgot to mention that Charlie wanted to ride the Dinosaur ride until we got up to it and the sign said not to ride if you were prone to motion sickness, so we didn't get a chance to ride it. bummer.

I could have ridden any of these rides by myself, if I wanted, but its more fun to go with someone else, and besides I'm a chicken when it comes to coasters. I just sit there gripping the bar with white knuckles and my eyes shut tight. LOL

After we got back to the resort, Charlie played on his computer and then took a nap. I took my kindle outside and played games for a while.

Time to get dressed and head to the MK for our Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party!

We got to the park a little early for our reservation time, so we walked around a bit and got our picture taken.

Our good side!

I have no pictures from the fireworks. I have not learned how to take those types of pictures, so the ones I did take were terrible.

The dessert party was great though. Lots of different types of desserts and I think I had some of most everything - except the cookies. We had a front row table and even with people standing at the railing, we had a great view of the fireworks and the castle projection show. We will do this one again!

Thursday????

Up fairly early, had breakfast at the resort - Charlie again had the cinnamon bun - he does get into a rut and cannot find his way out again. I had the pineapple turnover again.

We did not have any hard and fast plans for today, so we decided to catch up on some things we had missed,

First up was a trip to Hollywood Studios. There was a PP photographer at the Monsters U gateway, so we stopped to have pictures taken. Sad to say that I did not have a character shirt on today. :confused3

We had to leave the Indiana Jones show the last time because of rain, so we decided to catch the first show, except we were too early. So what did we do???? You guessed it.

Rode the Great Movie Ride, again. We did go over to see if we could get fps for Toy Story, but the return time was like 4:30 and it was around 1:00.

So after watching the Indiana Jones show, I was starving, so we went to the Backstage ?Grill?, then saw the Muppet Show again. After that we took the boat over to EPCOT.

Our first stop was at Canada, since we had missed it last time we were at EPCOT. I love Martin Short! When we came out it was raining, so we headed to ride Imagination with Figment and then over to The Land, where the wait time for Soarin' was only 30 minutes, but I don't think it took that long. Then we rode Living with the Land where we got stuck for about 10 minutes. We were by the farmhouse and I was ready to get out and strangle the barking dog. OMG! It reminded me of our former neighbor's dog that would start barking as soon as it came out the door - for no reason whatsoever, except to get my dogs barking. It was interesting to see the changes in the produce - they had harvested most of the lettuce and other hydroponic veggies.

We had early dinner reservations at Cape May Café at the Beach Club, so we took the boat over to the Beach Club. This was one of our favorite meals. The beef tenderloin was so tender you could cut it with a fork. I know, I know - I go to a seafood buffet and eat beef. LOL I am a seafood-loving girl! The only thing I wished they had on the buffet would have been crab cakes, but then they would not have been Maryland crab cakes, so I guess its okay that they don't have them. We are very picky about our crabs here in the Land of Pleasant Livin'.

It had finally stopped raining after dinner, so we walked around a bit and then caught the boat back to Hollywood Studios and then took the bus back to the resort.

We are just such wild and crazy party animals..... Tomorrow - scary stuff!

WHAT NO CHARACTER SHIRT?!?!?! what is wrong here! LOL :lmao:
the monsters pictures is fantastic!!!
I absolutely LOVE the firework red white and blue Mickey shirts!!! and no pictures of YUMMY desserts!?!>!

ugh.. walking away now.... :sad2:

You and Charlie look blissfully happy at the castle!!!

We've been on the go since last Thursday - visiting parks every single day. Today is scheduled to be a Hollywood Studios day, but honestly, there isn't much that we haven't already done there - that we can do.

So we decided to go to the pool instead.

The last two times that we've been to WDW, we stayed at the Port Orleans French Quarter and loved it. I like the small size of the resort, the theming of the resort and rooms, the walk to Riverside and the boat access. Charlie, however, had been doing a lot of youtube watching and decided we should try a different resort. He chose Caribbean Beach Resort. I was a bit apprehensive because, honestly, the first year we came on our own I made dinner reservations at different resorts - not knowing much about such things.

We thought the overall size of the other resorts was a bit overwhelming. But, I'm game for new things, so I made the reservations. We were lucky and got free dining and saved about $1,000 on our package, so we upgraded to a preferred room. The only other request I made was for a corner room - there is so much more light in the room, it seems larger.

So, we did get a corner room in Martinique, building 25, which is the closest to Centertowne.

[The pool is pirate themed and does not appear to be as large as the pool at POFQ, though I could be mistaken about that.

There are 2 slides and yes, I went down both!

It is a zero entry pool, which is very nice. The kids pool was fabulous. There is a huge bucket that fills with water and then tips over and splashes kids on the slide and those in the pool. You can see it in the picture above.

This looks so FUN!!! Almost makes me want to switch from my beloved FQ... Almost...

So, we spent the morning and early afternoon relaxing by the pool. We had lunch from the food court. Cheeseburgers again!

We had dinner reservations at 5:15, so we got showered and dressed and headed to:

50s Prime Time Diner. The food was good - Charlie got the meatloaf and I had the fried chicken - way too much food, especially since we had milkshakes with dinner.

Hahaha... This was OUR table in 2008... We may not have met IRL yet - but we shared a table at 50's PT...

After dinner, we went to - what else? The Great Movie Ride!

We went on the backstage tour and saw the Muppet show again. Then it was time to go to Fantasmic!

We did not wait in line long, and had pretty good seats for the show.

After the show, we went back home. We had an early morning date!

I just love your shirts too - your Boo shirt is soooo CUTE!!!! I just love it!

Great update!

Howdy :wave2: Can I join this party???

I have to go back and make my comments...just skimmed through but I love love love your shirts! Do you know how lucky you are to have a Disney loving husband??! Super jealous!

I just found your TR. I have enjoyed every page. It sounds like you had a great time – even though it did rain quite a bit! I LOVE all your matching shirts but I thought the firework Mickey head shirts were so original! Where did you get that embroidery design? Actually, where did you find all your designs?

You did an awesome job on the bags. I am making a Monsters University bag for my DGD for our cruise that’s in three weeks.

I LOVE the Muppets. I have all the DVDs from the original Muppet Show. My DGD is just starting to watch them and she is just as enthralled with the show as I was.

When I saw that dessert that was like a strawberry cream puff I was ready to lick my computer screen! In fact, I had to wipe a little drool off my chin!

Your hubby sounds like a sweetie. It’s really cool that he will wear the matching shirts.

Thanks for letting me tag along on your TR!

Hi again! I found most of your applique designs at Frou Frou - I should have guessed that. She does AMAZING designs.

I could not find the Mickey Mouse head firework design though. Would you mind sharing where you got it from? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

We did have a great time! My DH loves Disney probably more than I do - so much so that he wants to go every year.

Thanks for the kudos on the shirts - I had fun finding the different designs. most of which came from Frou Frou, though some were from MissKensieMac or Lynnie Pinnee (maybe???) I have a bunch more designs for our next trip!

The mixed berry fruit dessert from Norway??? that was so yummy

I found the fireworks design on Pinterest and had to follow a convoluted path to Whimsy Belle dot com to find the embroidery.

Thanks so much for giving me the info on the embroidery design. I really appreciate it.

Just stopping by to let you know that I am thinking of all of you and Kat... I am so sorry that she had another set back... but she is one strong girl - and I have every confidence that she will pull through this!

Also... Did you miss the photos I posted on the last page? I only ask because I thought it was cool...

Thanks D~.

I did see the pictures, just forgot to mention them. The girls look so young there. I think it was neat that we had the same table. Probably the same waitress too.

We were without internet service for the past 2 days. Charlie had to replace the wireless router this morning.

I spent the day clearing out my storage (meaning "junque") room. Now at least I can get to shelves where my roasting pan and cake pans are stored. I told Charlie we need to buy 2 more shelving units, so I can get some more stuff up off the floor.

My 2 daughters, Kate, who is 34 and Shannon who is 26 ran the half marathon in the Baltimore Running Festival this morning. I am so proud of both of them. Kate especially, because this time last year she was just getting around to walking again after she broke her ankle in August.

One of the reasons for cleaning out the storage room is so I can move the treadmill out of there and put it where it will actually get used. I still hope to be able to run in a 5K in the spring.

I will have another trip report soon.

It's awful being without internet. It's amazing how dependent we've become on that thing!

Good for you for doing all that cleaning! I've really needed to do the same thing for a LONG time, but I can't seem to get motivated!

WOW! I'm impressed with your daughters running a marathon. I've never been able to get into running but I sure admire anyone who can. Good luck on your marathon!

We had a great weekend! After spending most of Saturday cleaning, Charlie and I took a train ride on Sunday. We have an excursion steam train right here in town - it started running in June or July. We thought we would go and see all the fall foliage, except most of the trees have not started to turn yet. Oh, well, it was still a very nice train ride.

We will probably go again sometime.

Then we took our youngest dd out to dinner at Ruby Tuesday's. Our waitress left a lot to be desired. She disappeared for a very looooong time. It was fun to spend time with Shannon though.

Today, Shan and I went to JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby. She wants to make a Halloween costume to wear to work, and she needed Mom to find the right fabrics for her. We had a great time.

I lent her one of my sewing machines and found some odds and ends for her to take with her. She left to go back to NYC about 1/2 hour ago. I miss her already!

More later....

Oh so happy you got to spend time with your daughter!!! Sounds like you all had a great time. Even if Charlie had to work getting things in order! I just told Tom we need to do the same thing, my house on the surface is clean.. just don't look in closets or drawers!!! :lmao:

What kind of costume will she be making?!?!

She's making a sexy Little Red Riding Hood. Its not that bad though, and she will not wear anything too revealing, so I'm not that concerned about it =that's the mother in me speaking.

Glad you had a great weekend. The train ride sounds like fun. I love train rides.

Your daughter is lucky that you are willing to loan your sewing machine. I hope she is able to get her costume finished. I am sorry she had to go back to NYC. It is so hard to have them leave. It’s not fair how fast they grow up!

It sounds like you had a great weekend with your dd Tess! I am very glad to hear it!

I sure hope she enjoys making her costume!!! And that was so nice of you to loan her a machine with supplies. :)
