10 Days in October: Argle-Bargle or Foofarah? UPDATED: POSTS #984 & 995!!!

DS and I loved the video! He was cracking up at the Plankton quotes. He kept saying "Plankton really said that!" We had a blast watching it. Then this morning some of his friends came over and he showed them too. Tell Jay a lot of people are appreciating his hard work!

Oh yeah, those German baby doll heads were disturbing, but then again, I have another reason to find the dolls disturbing. On one of my trips, I went to watch the cast members making the dolls. There was this woman next to me who said she was making the doll for her daughter. So I thought, "How sweet." As we talked, the grandmother came by, and then I realized what they were actually doing: The daughter had died, and the Mom and grandmother were making a doll that looked EXACTLY like her! :scared1: I couldn't help but be creeped out by this.

Okaaaaay - this would totally creep me out, too.

Yes you get a pin....with a little person on the Segway...and it MOVES, too! :woohoo: Have you booked your tour yet? If not, maybe you could book the same one I'm going to book for October 16th. :) That's really the only day I can do it.

Cool - I love pins with moving pieces!! :thumbsup2

We booked the Segway Tour for October 23rd so you won't get the chance to see me being a clumsy schmo in person. ;) We'll look for you on the tour on the 16th, though, because we're planning on being at Epcot that morning. And I think we're going to try to end up at the same F&W pairing at Le Cellier - maybe we can nab a table together if the seating gods smile upon us all. :goodvibes

That video was too funny! I liked the crab patty line the best.:rotfl:

Thanks! I love that part and the part right after it with Plankton and all the Halloween candy...I laugh every time I see that segment. :lmao:

Thanks Lori! I'm glad so many people are getting a chuckle out of this, especially your DS and his friends! Jay and I are already discussing soundtrack choices for the next "movie."

Thanks for all the comments everyone - you've made my hubby blush! :goodvibes

Brenda, I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to choke!!! The crab patty line KILLED ME!!

Tell Jay he's got some mad editing skills... :)

That crabby patty line is pretty good, isn't it? ;)

Jay thanks you for the compliment - this was his first effort and he was nervous about sharing it with "strangers." I tried to tell him that like-minded people tend to gravitate towards each other and that the majority of DISers hanging out on this thread would probably be amused by it, but you never know.

Thanks again! :goodvibes

love the video Brenda!!
i do believe i spotted a few peeks at the train tour :)

Glad you liked it - thanks for taking the time to watch! :goodvibes

And yes indeedy....you did spot some pictures from the Magic Behind the Steam Trains Tour! We have a ton of pics - I won't post all of them when I finally make it to that day, but I will share a few more so that you can have a better idea of what to expect when you and your BF take the tour in June.

Hi Brenda!
I just wanted to say that I am loving your trip report, and that I loved the video. You are so lucky that your hubby goes along with this. My husband immediately runs in the opposite direction at the mere mention of the D word.

We're taking a Segway Tour in October - can't wait! And we get a pin?? Yeah, baby! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you guys enjoyed it! Like I said earlier, we thought it was funny but it's hard to tell if anyone else would really be amused by it. Have you decided - are you coming to WDW this fall now?

Yes and it has a moving Segway guy! Right up your alley :-) You will have a BLAST on that tour. Its so much fun riding around the World Showcase before it even opens. If you can balance yourself then you can do the Segway. I need to do that tour again!

Right now I'm pleading a strong case to Dan about F&W in October. We have friends that recently moved to the Sunshine state and we would like to make it a two-fer and see them also. If we do, I'm booking that Segway tour with you! :rotfl:

I am very lucky, you're right. Now what can we do to help your hubby see the light? Hmmmmm.... Does he like eating and drinking? Maybe you can convince him to take a trip to WDW in October for the Food and Wine Festival...they even have free beer and wine seminars! :thumbsup2

You would love WDW in October - and if you take the same Segway tour we are taking, you and I can talk Harry Potter while I do my best not to drive into a tree. :lmao:

:woohoo: I have to tell you, there was this one woman who either forgot how to slow down or just freaked out because she turned at the last moment at the fountain in France and knocked her wheel on the side, ALMOST ending up face first into the water. It was pretty funny to watch from the back.:lmao: I laughed with her, not at her. :moped:

:rotfl2: Don't feel like you have to be nice on my account. I totally would have laughed at her as soon as I knew she wasn't hurt. ;)

I fully expect to keep the entire tour in stitches come October because my balance is wonky on the best of days. I'll be bouncing off food and wine festival booths and then I'll probably just drive right into the World Showcase Lagoon.

Once Jay is finished wetting himself with laughter he might dive in to save me from drowning. :lmao: :lmao:

Hello,
I just finished day 3 of your report and I wanted to let you know that I am really enjoying it.:thumbsup2 More importantly though, I wanted to let you know that I read your food review back when I was just a lurker on these boards and thought it was great. In fact, it inspired me to learn more about Disney Dining and I found out there were so many unique dining options that we are trying Free Dining this August. And to think, I have been going to Disney World since 1976 (almost as long as you) and never thought of dining as one of Disney's attractions save for the occasional character meal with the kids.:confused3

Thanks for watching, Paige; I'm glad they liked it. You can just tell DS11 that those are the crazy people who had to cancel the cruise and now everyone on the Magic that week will rest easier. ;)

Hello,

Hooray - another new reader!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thank you so much for taking the time to read (it's a lot, I know) and for posting to let me know what you think. I'm glad to know you're enjoying this. :goodvibes

Thanks again - I'm actually kind of proud of the food review since it was the first time I ever tried to do something like that. I'm so happy to know it's given you some interesting food options to consider for your upcoming trip!

Jason and I were like that at first, too, once we went back to WDW without my parents. We looked around and were like, "All of this other stuff has been here all this time and we never knew? D'OH!"

We love trying to pick some new restaurants now each time we visit. You're right - it's like another theme park attraction! :thumbsup2

I hope to hear / see more from you - if you have any questions feel free to ask. There are some great people following along here and I'm sure they'd be happy to offer you advice if you need it.

Happy planning and I hope you have a lovely trip in August. :goodvibes

Hey! I'm on page 8 of your trip report from last October and so funny! :rotfl:

I loved hearing your memories from the World Series and feel that you should be at WDW every year. Keep the luck alive! It's funny when you said that the Cardinals get no respect. I was saying something along those lines when Madame von Crankypants (what I call Senora Crankypants when I'm feisty) said "So, who made you Rodney Dangerfield?" One of these days I'll become all techno-savvy and make a Cardinals signature.

Since I've only been to WDW once and for just a few hours, I love hearing about the F&W festival. I'd like to consider myself a foodie (as much as someone who lives out in Northeast Arkansas can be), so I just may have to go then to sample all the goodies!

Hi andiepie - thanks for coming along on the ride and becoming the newest of our new readers! :yay: Glad to know we're keeping you amused! :goodvibes

We're such baseball dorks that we sat down and did the math once the World Series was over...during the last three years that the Cardinals have played in the postseason that we've been on vacation (2004, 2005, and 2006) they have a 700+ winning percentage while we're actually in Florida on WDW property! Once we board a cruise ship they suck... 1 and 7. :sad2:

 I wonder if we could work out a vacation / payment plan with Cardinal management??? :rotfl2:

Jay and I are amatuer foodies...we've just started exploring the wonders of really good food. But you should definitely try to get to the F&W Festival some time if you have a chance - you'd probably love it! :goodvibes

Thanks again for reading - always happy to have new friends along for the ride. :goodvibes

Just a few more days to complete now Brenda. Maybe you should post them all when you are "Shrubbering" just to keep us busy and happy on this end.:yay:

Hi Brenda,

It's been fun catching up. I've had a college friend staying with me and haven't had time to log on.
I teach at a technology school that has a broadcasting department. I think I'm going to refer your video to the teacher. One of their projects is a claymation movie. Yours would earn an A+!
Sorry you haven't been feeling well.

Deb

Hi Nancy - I'll update later tonight since this is Jay's night to work late. :thumbsup2

And just because there are only a few days left don't you dare think that I'll manage to get through them quickly...:rotfl2: That's unpossible!

Hi Deb, I was wondering where you'd disappeared to - thought maybe you were still recovering from that WDW trip you just took. Thanks for the kind words on the video - I'll be sure to let Jay know that you enjoyed it. :goodvibes

Sorry you haven't been feeling well.

Deb

Thanks - it kind of depends on the day to tell the truth. I'm sure you know what I mean since we've talked about this stuff before "offline."
