We slept in a little and had breakfast at Lumiere's. Yum eggs Benedict!

Today is St. Maarten! We thought we had been here before (we were mistaken it was Martinique we had been to oops) so we decided to go in search of the most amazing beach we were at before. That didn't work out since we were on the wrong island! Instead we took a cab to Dawn Beach since it is not topless/nude. I'm sure my ds age 10 would have been looking around! Anyway it cost us $21 +tip to get there and at first I wasn't too happy because there is a lot of seaweed there. You could see other parts of the beach without seaweed because the hotels there must have raked it up. The cab dropped us at a restaurant/bar on the beach. A guy offered us an umbrella and 2 chairs for $10. We thought that was reasonable and took the deal. The kids loved this beach and made lots of friends in the sand. I just sat in the chair and read a magazine, so nice and peaceful! There were a few people selling stuff but it was not too bad. If you said no thank you they left.

The couple next to us was very nice and we struck up a conversation. They were on a carnival ship. They said they weren't too sure about the beach either at first but that the bar had 75 cent bottles of beers. We liked the sound of that even though we are not big beer drinkers. So we had a few beers and some nice conversation. The nearby hotel has an outdoor shower so we all rinsed off and took a cab back to town. My husband and the couple decided to walk around town but I took the kids back to the ship for a shower and some room service. Love room service! I can thank the boards for mentioning the pb&J's that aren't on the menu. If we had to do it over again I think we might have tried the water taxi just because riding a boat is always more fun than a taxi!

I watched a great movie in the room; The Lake House, with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves. It was sooo good! I ended up taking a nap and dh took the kids to the show, Mike Super a magician/illusionist. They loved it. I don't care for Magic shows too much so I didn't mind missing it.

Dinner was in Parrot Cay but we had to be quick because dd had a 9 pm hair braiding appt with Alana. She did cornrows, and it got a little painful after awhile but she made it and loves them. We had a towel swan in the room. Yesterday was a lobster. I think they left a limited edition Beauty and the Beast print in our stateroom

this night. Everyone onboard got them and they set up times to have them signed by Don "Duckie" Williams. It was a nice gift!

Going Backwards a little to show a picture of dd making the gingerbread house! We couldn't take it with us as they told us it would be a $50,000 fine for taking food off the ship! Bummer.

It is not easy to get the family together and dressed nice! Our only family pictures are taken on the Disney cruise! Luckily we take about 1 a year!! The 10 day was the best ever! I was not thrilled to be taking a cruise over Christmas. This would have been our 1st Christmas in our new house but my husband decided that we should do the Cruise. As it turned out I am so happy we did! What perfect weather and great times we had. The 2nd half of the Cruise was even better than the 1st! More tomorrow!

Happy Almost new year!

Love reading and looking at your pictures..YOur family is soo beautiful.....!!!!

Just Lovely! You all look lovely. Your camera takes great pics,...keep'em coming, I can't wait for more to read and more to see:goodvibes

It's Pirates DAY! My family loves that but I don't really care. There were people who were completely DECKED out in full pirate costumes, the entire family! We weren't those people! Oh well. Here is my silly St. Lucia story! I know you will all disapprove but blame it on my "adventurous"dh.

My dh has been to St. Lucia several times, I had only been once before on our honeymoon cruise 14 years ago. When we were there before we rented a car and drove all over the island. It was scary. If you know anything about St. Lucia it is that it is very mountainous and has narrow winding roads! We were lucky to be alive and we barely made it back to the ship! When we got back to return the car no one was there to return it to! We waited and waited and finally I got on the ship, luckily the captain waited for my dh! For Real. I told him we were not renting a car and driving on those crazy roads again. As it turned out by the time we headed off the ship the car rental person was gone! Big surprise.

We decided to walk into town so we bypassed all the taxis and headed out. Unfortunately a Gypsy cab guy stopped us and made a deal with my husband. I just kept walking and saying no and he kept lowering his price so my husband finally said yes. He wanted to take our ds to the banana planation. We are not dumb people and yet we did get into a gypsy cab! I can't believe we did that. Nothing bad happened but it could have. Anyway the guy's car was around the way in another parking lot and big surprise it was a beat up, crashed up bomb. No seat belts or AC. The driver was very nice which is the only reason I didn't run but as I write this I realize how stupid that sounds. I am only sharing this just to let you know not to do it!

His car only went about 15mph so that is how we travelled around with everyone and their brother passing us on the narrow roads! He gave us a decent tour of what he could driving that slow and then my husband told him he wanted to go to the waterfalls (apparently a long ways away) I put my foot down and said take me back to the ship so we went back! I was happy to have survived once again the roads of St. Lucia. Note to self take an excursion and stop being crazy!! My dh thinks this is funny! I headed to the ship and booked excursions for Antigua and St. Thomas!

I got dd from the club she didn't want to go in town and we went to the pool and watched Nemo on the Ariel Screen, that was really cool! I love that big screen.

The show was Santa Clause 3 in the Walt Disney Theatre, we hadn't seen it so that was fun! Afterward we took lots of pictures with characters that were dressed as pirates! Dinner was at Lumiere's and the servers were dressed as pirates! Our server gave us all bandanas and of course doted on the kids. My dd is very demanding and told them she needed a bandana for each arm, leg, neck and head. That would be 6 and they obliged even helping her put them on! I can't say enough about the service team we had. They made the cruise! Normally the kids don't even want to come to dinner but even ds who has rarely come to dinner on other cruises appeared from the clubs to join us each night. It was so nice!

I hate to say it but we skipped the pirate party! We have been before so we didn't really miss anything. We watched the fireworks from our Porthole in our pj's. That was cool!

I forgot to mention we saw the funniest thing! As we were waiting for an elevator to go up to the Tropicalifragilistic party they were holding an elevator for the characters. That meant no on could use an elevator so we just waited to see the characters. Well they stuffed, Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale, Donald, Daisy, Mickey, Minnie, Lilo, Stitch and their guide into one elevator! I couldn't believe it.

I bought them at the online disney store for seriously like $3 each! Just after summer this year. I knew we would make use of them at some point! When we booked the Holiday cruise in November I decided that is what we would wear to board! The online Disney store has great deals! I also got them in orange.
