10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

Ginger, what a cute DCL room! I just love it!

I also love the Goofy ring that's taped to the picture.:lovestruc

That's what this cruise is all about and I hope we all remember that. The magic and joy that are in all of the childrens' hearts and eyes. This is their special moment.

Jacquelyn,
We'll talk more on the cruise but maybe you and Chris could join us one night for the outdoor movie at Ft W. Steve and I have our bag chairs packed and we're looking forward to it.

Denise, his 13th birthday is October 7th. You don't have to go through any extra trouble. it's no problem.

I thought I was going to be the last out, but actually we're hoping to leave town around noon on Friday. I am thinking that someone is leaving later than than, like sometime early Saturday AM.

I'm going to bed cause I'm about to fall over. Our JV team won their first game of the season tonight. I am so proud of them, but I am sleepy!!! so...Goodnight all! See you in a few days!

Lori P. :)

We will be at The Contemporary from October 11-14. I love, love, love that resort!! We are in the Tower with a Magic Kingdom View. Just spectacular. :cloud9: We are going to MNSSHP on October 13th. One of my all-time favorite things to do! Last year we got 21 lbs of candy (over 2 nights!) We had to put it all in our carry-on. Our family and friends LOVED us when we got home. (yes, we gave MOST of it away!)

Denise,
Maybe we will run into you at Fort Wilderness. Chris and I are planning on eating at Trail's End, it is by far one of our favorites in all of WDW!! We will probably eat there a few times. Another one of our absolute favorites in FW is going to Tri-Circle D Ranch to visit with the horses. No matter what are plans are in WDW or where we are staying, we always make a point to go over to FW, eat at Trail's End and visit Tri-Circle D!

I also made us inserts with our cruise logo and our names!! I did get the idea of name tags in the lanyard from you, Denise!

We are staying at the All Sports Resort till October 16th. We have not been to WDW before so are looking forward to it very much!

What is MNSSHP?

:hippie:

Mackenzie's Make A Wish limousine picks our family up at 4:30am Saturday morning and off to Toronto, ON airport for a 7:30am flight. Should arrive in Orlando around 10:30am and then Disney shuttle over to Port!!!

And YES we are way too excited!!! :yay:

MNSSHP stands for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and it is a halloween celebration where those attending trick or treat at certain destinations, enjoy a special parade, all kinds of things. Check the DIS homepage for all the 4-1-1. It is a seperate ticket event.

I am trying to pack only what I need and pack a little lighter than normal for me. We usually travel in an SUV and I don't have to worry about space but this time we are taking a car. So I have a camera question for you guys.

I have a Digital Canon Rebel that I love. I have 2 lenses and don't want to pack both. I am trying to decide between the 18-55mm and my 28-200mm. Any suggestions from the camera people out there. The 28-200mm is just heavier and don't know how much I would actually use the zoom. I have decided to leave my external flash at home.

We are taking our car this trip, too. I just can't afford to drive the suburban from NC to Florida right now... about 10 miles/gallon. :scared1: We will save about $250 by taking my car. We have a car top carrier, so that will solve the space problem for us.

Avery's birthday party went really well. She was excited with all her presents. She doesn't know it, but I only gave her 2 presents tonight. I have 3 more packed in my suitcase, and will put them out in our room after she goes to sleep Tuesday night. I also have a birthday magnet for the door. I don't mind celebrating early... but I hate not to have anything for her on her real birthday!

Well... I have to run the kids to bed... I have a few more things to accomplish before I turn in!

Well....I don't know a thing about cameras....but my husband has that same camera....His advice is to bring the 18-55 b/c it will give you a wider angle and a lot of things you may want to shoot will have bigger backgrounds (ie-beach scenes and ship in the background pics). He thinks the 55 zoom is good enough for portraits and if you want a truly, really great shot, you'll probably purchase it on board from the professionals anyway.....I really have no idea what I just typed.....I'm a point and shoot gal myself :) HTH

Hey there neighbor! :thumbsup2 We are on this same trip and are from Chandler too!. We are DH (Kevin 38), Dina (37), Colton (10) and Chloe (8)...I would say let's get together so the kids can meet, but with 14 other travelers you probably already have playmates. Anyway, we are in 6056...hope to meet you on the ship! Welcome to the DIS! :surfweb:

What a small world! On our cruise last year there were actually a lot of Chandler folk. What part of Chandler are you in? My kids go to Basha and Bogle. While we do have quite a few playmates, we're always looking for more friends! The girls in our group are quite a bit younger than my daughter. The only other boy with us is 11 yrs. old. Hope to hook up on the ship!

Okay girls, Steve and I are staying at WDW after the cruise too! We're spending 4 days and will be at the Ft Wilderness cabins!

Lori,

Did you want me to list your DS's birthday on the FE list? I have them printed already but can write it in if you want me to. Just send me his name and day he'll be celebrating his b'day.

Welcome Rebecca!

Check page one, post #4 for any pertinent (sp)(Hey, we need spell-check!) info. We're glad you guys joined us!

I made Steve and I inserts with our cruise logo and names for our lanyards.

Going out to eat so later 'gators! Oh, any LSU fans besides us?

Thanks for the info....I was not going to be able to get through all 178 pages before we leave :lmao: (although it's a tempting distraction from laundry and packing:rotfl2: )

Rebecca, What you typed made you sound like you knew exactly what you were talking about. I was thinking along the same lines myself so Thanks to you and your husband!

Today's the day:cool1: :cool1: . We will leave as soon as I can home this afternoon. I am having to shut off my laptop, so I won't be posting when I get home. I can't wait to meet everyone. I hope you all have a safe trip to Florida. See you Saturday:banana:  .

Hello to everyone from Old Key West. DH and I have had a great time this week and we when to MNNSHP last night. The Food and Wine festival is great as always too. Today we are heading to Animal Kingdom.

Denise - not really an LSU fan but I do pay a bit of attention since I graduated high school with Les Miles. DH went to a rival high school so he played against him.

Packing - I am an overpacker, always have been but even this time I can see it. But, we had 3 checked bags and one carryon. I would not change it, I wouldn't. Better too much than not enough, that is what I think anyway.

Well, guess we best get cracking. Love that the parks don't open until 9:00 - crowds have not been bad nor the weather. No liquid sunshine yet.

Take care, safe travels and I will see you all at the drink station at 3:00 if not sooner.

Hey Other Ginger!!!

I actually projected it onto stencil board (plastic) and cut it out with a blade. That sponging on of the pattern took forever! I still have to do some above the shower / tub. It's just so hard to reach!

Thanks for the comments!
The other Ginger :yay:

It looks great. I'm going to try it when I get home.

Oh my Denise, it's almost here! I totally can't wait to meet you and your family, ds is quite excited too!
We leave Thursday night (well, actually Friday Morning), hope for no delays for you and a smooth and safe flight.

See you on the ship!

(PS; will "stick" your "gift" on your door....)

See you SOON!!!!

:cool1:

We really are close neighbors! :goodvibes My kids are at Jacobson. :lmao: They have been so excited for this trip, but now have decided they don't care about going. :confused3 It is the fear of the unknown I think. I know once we get there, they will be beside themselves...not to mention we are surpising them with Epcot on arrival day and TMK the day we get off the ship.:wizard:
When are you flying out? We might be on the same flight? We are flying US Air at 9:05 in Friday monring. :yay: :yay: :yay:

What a coinkindink!!! I am 99% certain that we are on the same flight. Our nick name is the Griswolds b/c my DH is the "Clark" who makes all the vacation plans :-) I'll double check with him tonight and send you another message! As for the kids....they'll be SO excited once they get there (especially if they've already met a few friends beforehand at the airport!!) This is our group's 3rd cruise and we LOVE it!! A great time will be had by all.

Well....it was pretty easy to type that with my husband standing right there telling me exactly what to say :rotfl2:

Bon Voyage to you all!!:cool1:
Had to cancel the cruise a few months back but still lurk here!! I will just have to settle for cruising vicariously through you guys!
I hope you all have a "Magical" vacation! We are still heading down to FL on Monday...DD17 is checking out some colleges there.
Have a safe trip and looking forward to all the pics and trip reports.

Safe travels everyone, and can't wait to meet you all in person. Anyone traveling through the state of Georgia by car...be careful about filling up with gas before you get to the state line and start looking before you need it. That is the main subject of conversation here...Have you seen gas anywhere?
We are flying, but goofy question here for recent travelers. We are taking 2 big suitcases, but are entitled to take 4 that weigh up to 50lbs because we have 4 passengers. Do you think they will be fine if I take 2 overweight ones as opposed to spreading it out over 4 smaller ones. I just like to keep track of less.
