10/26/2013 - A Western Fantasy Halloween Cruise

I haven't been home since 2003. My parents are in FL, close to the port and my husbands family is in AL. Thank you. Definiately have to meet. We are in cabin 10502. I am doing a lot of the activites that have been listed on FB. The FE Exchange, Party at 2:30 the day we leave, Roaming Mickey, Cabin Crawl. What excersions are you guys doing? We have the Dolphin Swim in Cozumel and the Saltwater Forest in Grand Cayman. What dinner are you? We are second. Have a birthday cake the last night for Anastasia and might get another one to surprise my husband

A lot has been changed then since you have been in this area. I believe our state's goal is build on every inch of land and leave no tree standing! I believe they have finally removed all of the circles from our area!

I will be at the Meet & Greet (bringing salt water taffy from Seaside Heights), the cabin crawl and the mixology (I think you missed out on that one because you dragged your feet finding us!! )

The only excursion we have booked is the Parasailing on Castaway Cay. I have been sort of hoping that I don't have to get off the ship at any other ports, but Linda almost always wants to get off in Cozumel. This year, that is my birthday and I am pretty sure she might not even ask to get off. I heard her talking to a friend last night on the phone and I heard her say, "I don't think we are even getting off the ship". I didn't really think I would ever get that lucky!!

We have second seating as well, but I obviously don't know our rotation. We can compare at the meet and greet.

You know you don't have to pay for a cake to surprise your husband, right? You can just talk to your server the first night and ask them to surprise your husband. You can pick what dessert you think he would like, and they will bring it to him at the end of your dinner (he could still order something else if he doesn't like your choice) and sing very loudly!!

DW's birthday is also the 1st and we are 2nd seatting. I decided to go with the surprise dessert since it will be tooooo much after a week on the cruise and treats.

My is more into surprising her with a gift that night.

I am gonna kidnap your taffy, jk. I havent had salt water taffy in years. You can't find it here. We are doing the cabin crawl and I just found out that we can do the mixology (I'm not pregnant after all, but do have cyst on my ovaries. Doc called medicine in). Thank you about the ferett. And I won't need the cake for Jim now. I was looking up the mixology. Are you in Secision 2?

Hello Everyone. We are late joining. Our 10/20 Magic cruise was cancelled today due to the ship not being done yet. So we switched our sailing over to this. I just wanted to introduce myself. We aren't interested in any Fish Extenders or anything but I (D'Yanna) will be traveling alone with my 9 year old daughter (Jaiden)

Very glad you're joining us, it must have been frutrating the news of your canceled cruise. But you changed a 5 nighter for 7 nighter which it's better I guess.

Yes, I almost cried. I was all set to go. I'm a Cast Member so I didn't get the 5 night free cruise offer like everyone else. I just got a refund which I applied to this sailing. It will be our first time on the Fantasy so we are excited about that and we 2 extra days.

Hello. I'm finally jumping in. I've been lurking for awhile on the board. We booked VGT about 35 days ago; got our room # on Tues. I just finished a big project at work this week so now I feel like I can think about the trip more. I will be traveling with my DH, Kevin and DD, Erin. She is 6 and in 1st grade. We're very excited about the trip.

welcome aboard everyone - sorry for anyone who had their Magic cruise cancelled but I hope that the 7 nights on the Fantasy will work out well for each of you.

For a quick update / goings on for the Fantasy 7 nighter, I highly recommend checking out the link in Dizney-Cruiser's signature (just click on the Halloween on the High Seas picture). It will take you to posting about each day / night / menu, etc on the ship. It's a great way to get your feet wet (especially if you're waiting to be approved for the facebook group).

Unfortunately, we are in the group that got displaced from the cancellation of the Magic. So now we are scrambling to plan this cruise last minute and try to make the best of it. Still excited, we just had the wind knocked out of our sails, so to speak. In our party is my husband and I, our 3 kids and my parents. Hoping to quickly get to know you all before we depart. ;-)

A few quick questions if you all don't mind....

Grand Cayman: Anyone done the turtle farm (on your own or with a tour)? My absolute favorite animal is the sea turtle so I would LOVE to do this. I'm just wondering how long it will take. What's it like? I'm sure everyone in our party would like to hit 7 mile beach for a bit too if we could so I'm wondering if we'll be able to fit it all in that day or not. It says we won't dock until 11:30 so that only gives us 5 hours at best.

Also, we were thinking about going to Tropicante on Costa Maya day. I see on the (VERY helpful!!) link in Dizney-cruisers sig that there is a Dis group going already. Do you all have transportation together or just taking cabs? If there's a bus or something, we'd love to join in on that.

Welcome to the group, so sorry your Magic cruise got cancelled. I can't help with the Grand Cayman question, I'm afraid but there are others here who have cruised this itinerary before so hopefully they can help.

As far as Tropicante is concerned, if you haven't already got a reservation, I seem to recall reading that they were fully booked. Once you join the FB group, I'm sure somebody there will confirm though.

TBMommy, when you did the tour on your own did you take a cab or did you take the bus? I've seen posts on that "other" board how people use the bus and say it's quite easy.
