Cast of Characters DH and I, in our 50's and adult DS 30. We are here for the 5th time at the Food and Wine Fest.
Today was just CS and Food and Wine snacking.
DS was a bit skeptical about the Tangerine Cafe for lunch. We love Restaurant Marrakesh, but he didn't see anything on the menu that "Jumped out" at him. I had eaten here in April with other DS and kids and had a Sharma sandwich which I really liked. So we decided to give it a try.
DS and I each ordered the Lamb "Shawarma Sandwiches- served with hummus, marinated red onions, lettuce & tomato, topped with Taziki sauce." The Morrocian bread was fresh and this sandwich was delicious. It reminded DS of a Gyro, and he liked it too. The lamb was delicious.
DH had the "Mediterranean Specialty - served with yellow rice
Meatball platter". He really enjoyed this a lot. He liked the yellow rice and the meatballs and sauce just hit the spot for him.
We all enjoyed an imported Casa Beer with lunch.
Dinner was CS in Mexico. Although good, I thought this was the worst meal of the week. (DH and DS gave that accolaide to Peco Bill's, which was also good). So as you can see, we enjoyed all of our meals during the week.
We each ordered the same here, the "Plato Combinacion - chicken taco, beef burrito and a quesadilla served with black refried beans and Mexican salsa". I am not a black beans fan and asked for no beans, but that was not possible. It was okay since the tray had sections and the beans were in their own section.
I am used to crisp tacos, so I was surprised that the chicken taco is a soft tortilla. I enjoyed it very much. I loved the quesdadilla, my only complaint was that there was not more of it, it was a relatively small portion. and the beef burrito was also very good. The food was hot, which was good as it was a bit chilly and raining lightly during this meal.
We enjoyed a nice cold Dos Equis with our dinner and had a great time.
