Ahoy Mates,

I went on Disney Cruise Line web sight today and found out there is going to be a new live show starting in April called "Villians Tonight". It will be replacing The Golden Mickey's. I hate to see the Golden Mickey's leave, but it will be nice to see a new show this year.

Hi, Paul. Yes, I had heard about that. I will miss the "Golden Mickeys" too.

Hi there - my family will be joining you as well.

Carrianne (39+ ;))
Rob (42 turning 43 the weekend we return)
and our two boys (10 and 9)

This will be our 4th DCL cruise. We started with two 7 nights, and tried a 3 night last year. We're back at 7!

Hi, Carrianne and Family. Welcome Aboard! I have only been on 3 and 4 day cruises but this will be my first 7 day cruise. But my 11th overall cruise. So, as you can imagine I am looking forward to it.

What were your other 7 day cruises? Were they on Disney?

I will add you all to the cruise page.

So, again. Welcome aboard.

We always cruise this same week (kids have time off from school) - So both of our previous 7 days were Westerns in 2007 and 2008. (10/24/07 and 10/25/08)

And Yes - All Disney!

Hi neighbor!
This is my 4th 7-day cruise with DCL - all eastern! We have cruised in October once - in 2008 - due to the annual school break. We were on the Oct. 11, 2008 eastern. This year, I'm leaving DH and the kids (18 and 16) behind and traveling with all adults!:banana::banana: Welcome aboard!:hippie:

Any thoughts on fun stuff to do on the islands without having to go through Disney? I found the self done excursions are less money.:thumbsup2

Last time, we took a taxi to Orient Beach on St. Maarten and rented chairs and umbrellas in a beautiful spot. The kids swam and body surfed. We walked to a nearby open-air restaurant for lunch that was really good. We arranged for our taxi driver to return and pick us up a few hours later. It was a great day! And we did see perhaps 2 or 3 topless women (middle-aged) but it was no big deal to us. We had talked with our kids beforehand about the possibility so they were prepared. The ages of the kids traveling with us were 17, 16, 16, 14 and 14.

Hi all!

this will be the first time on a Disney Cruise, or any cruise!
we have 7 people in our party, my family: me, DH, DS-25 DS-6 (who will turn 7 on the 29th the day we dock in cast away cay!, yes my kids are 19 years apart!!) and then: my brother, his wife and their 8 year old daughter. we are staying in 2 connecting cabims on deck 1 cat 10s, it was all that was available at the time . what are upgrades? what are the chances of getting connecting cabin upgrades? What is Fish Exchange, it seems like some type of gift exchange between passengers left at their door, I am sure the 2 little ones cruising would love that, what do I need to do/know? what types of gifts?
what does the cruise line do for birthdays. should I try and request anything??
anyone know anything about deck 1, is it really bad? most post one here seem to be cats 5 or 6!!

by the way, love, love the to do list in the beginning of the thread, just great!! especially for a newbie, thanks Brenda!!:worship:

Can't believe we're down to less than a year - :-))). I"ve started with my magnets!! Did I see that there's going to be an exchange on board? I have never done that would love to know more about it and what to do.

An upgrade would be having DCL move you to a higher cat at no cost. I have never had the pleasure of this. Since you have connectiong staterooms I would think you may have less of a chance. That is not a bad thing. Since you have inside room being on deck one means that you should feel the movment of the ship less than anyone else. I have also heard that Deck one is very quiet. It is also very close to the gangway at some of the ports. what are the chances of getting connecting cabin upgrades? What is Fish Exchange, it seems like some type of gift exchange between passengers left at their door, I am sure the 2 little ones cruising would love that, what do I need to do/know? what types of gifts?FE is indeed an exchange of gifts between cruisers. Most buy or make a cloth hanger with upto four pockets on it to hang outside your door on the fish clip. So that is why the are called Fish Extenders. You can bring almost anything you want to give out. Some items are bought other are home made. Most do not cost much. Size is an issue if you are flying as is weight. But remember that you will be getting items to being home both FE gifts and items that you buy on the islands so the space will be used both direction. what does the cruise line do for birthdays. should I try and request anything??For the birthday just make sure that your servers knows about it. Remind them on the day and they will most likely bring out a cake for him.
anyone know anything about deck 1, is it really bad? most post one here seem to be cats 5 or 6!!See above I hope this information is helpful. Welcome aboard to all the newcomers. This is going to be a fun packed cruise.
