BTW, thanks so much for setting up the kids board. My kids are having a blast getting to know the other kids they're cruising with!

Do you have a link for this? My kids would love this! They hung out together a lot last time, but since DDs may be split up this time (ages 9 and 11), it might be nice for them to have some other friends before the cruise! DS will be 13 and think he wants to go to The Stack, but I think he will end up in OceanQuest with kids closer to his age.

Can any of you who have been following this thread for awhile (sorry, I fell off the planet for a bit) tell me what the plan is for FEs? We loved them last time, and I would like to order/make a new one, but there are a LOT of folks on this meet! My last cruise had a smaller meet and it was Christmas, so we gave gifts every day. :scared1: Are we doing the FE tag I read about 100 pages ago, or one gift for each room participating? I just need to know some info before I commit or back out of it. I teach school and the next month is going to be BUSY BUSY BUSY for me!

Can't wait for the cruise though! I'm excited there will be so many kids! Most people are really supportive, but I do get some attitude from some coworkers about taking my kids out of school (after all, I am a teacher!). This will probably be the last time we do that, since the kids are getting older. :sad2:

Also, have any meets on the ship been discussed or planned? I feel so out of it, and haven't had time to read all the posts! Is there someplace all of this info could be posted (or already is)?

Thanks all! popcorn::

There is a link for the kids' board on the first page. My kids are addicted! DS will be 12, DD is 10.

I worry about that too. But my mom was a teacher for 39 years and if she doesn't object, then i figure it's fine. :goodvibes Besides, I really believe kids learn so much when they travel!

Hello my oldest ds is 13 also and has been lookingfor someone to talk to. He has been undecided the last little while whether he wants to go to the stack or ocean qwest. You should have your ds stop in the kids thread and my ds would love to talk to him :)

We are also taking our children out of school for a whole week and are getting mixed emotions from people about it. I figure my kids are good students and we have never done anything like this before. I am hoping that the teachers will understand and not get angry.

Most teachers should understand - family experiences like this are a huge part of kids' development and education! My kids are good students too, and we will let teachers know early enough to do work ahead of time if they'd like us to. I have only taken them out a couple of times, and we've never regretted it, but since two are in junior high now, it is harder and this will be our last.

As a teacher, I have had lots of kids miss school for vacations - I like to give them a Travel Journal to write about their adventures and share with us when they get back. I teach 3rd grade, and it is not usually hard to catch students up when they return to school.

BTW, we are flying out on the 22nd, staying at WLV (we are DVC). Wish we could stay another night at the end of the trip, but we are flying back home on the 30th. I am sure I will be glad to get home and have a day to get ready to go back to work!

we will be one that tour too!:thumbsup2

It sounded like a fun way to see the island. I'm really excited to see the French side!

Do you have kids? My kids are big, DS 12 and DD 10. They're really excited for the tour. They love sightseeing!

This is at the Pop resort but I can't wait to see sunsets like this on the cruise!!!!

Booked the Dolphin experience. DD and DN are looking forward to the experience. Is anyone else booked on this excursion? I am so excited and cannot wait until Oct 23rd....:goodvibes

My kids are little 3 and 4y girls. I wanted to see the island and do a little shopping but nothing too long since my girls are young. So I thought this would be perfect!

My daughter will love having little ones on the tour. She loves little kids! I'm sure she'll want to make friends with your girls. :grouphug:

This did sound like a fun way to see the island without spending all day touring. It was kind of hard to find something everyone would want to do, but this tour seems like it will work!
