We braved LA traffic, and made it to the event on Thursday night. There are plenty of full trip reports out there, so I wanted to post our observations and tips from Thursday night.
1. GET THERE EARLY!!! We left Port Hueneme at 3:45, and because of (insert your explecitive of choice now) traffic, we made it into the event just shy of 8 pm!!!! That hour and a half we missed was really wasted, as we were only able to make it through Hollywood, Bugs Land, and then made a mad dash towards Screamin' for the men as the Goodnight Music started from the Hub. (I liked that they played it over all of the park for those of us not headed toward the Hub!)

2.Who thought sticky candy was the way to go? I feel so so sorry for the CMs who had to wipe everything down afterwards! I'd say a good half of our candy was Laffy Taffy and Now n Laters. Our little JoJo costume is going to need quite the scrubbing before the 31st!!! So pick out the candy you don't want your kids to have, and bring plenty of baby wipes.
Also, grab an extra bag for trash. Please do your part. DCA looked rather like Six Flags, with candy wrappers as far as the eye could see!

Ride Observations: From the rides we did go on that night, here is what I observed a little different:
Monsters Inc. At the end, the Roz AA said" Oh how clever...dressing up as children for Halloween! (I don't know if that is new, but I thought it was cute!
Tower of Terror My DH had to remove his mask. He was told that if not, the picture would be deleted. (don't know why that was!
Fliks Fun Fair WE couldn't belive it- there was actually a line for the Chew-Chew train! Usually all of the rides back there are walk-ons when we go, it was suprising to see a line!
Screamin' I don't like to complin about one-time incidents on the boards, as it seems there alot of "what a bad time we had because..."posted everywhere, but my DH was so mad, he told me to make sure everyone knew...
He was on the second to last train on Screamin' for the night, and there were only 5 people getting on the last train, so him, hisa buddy and a few other guys asked if they could ride once more (it was going out anyway.) and the CM told them no, made them get off...and then ran the train with only 5 people for the last ride. Its hard enough to drag the man to Disneyland with me, and so I hated that the last thing he rememebers about the night was someone being so rude!!!

That aside, we had a great time. The kids loved the projections on the ground, and mine were not the only ones. Kids were chasing thise things around in circles everywhere! (Except my DD was scared of the spider ones, she would run around them!)

And I figured out the key to a good parking spot- we left the car top carrier on our van, and we got to park on the ground. It rocked! We just walked strait to the trams! I don't think I'll ever take that thing off now.
So thats my 2 cents on the night, I'll add photos as soon as I get them uploaded!

OK< I don't know what's up with my pictures, I always think I'll get alot of atmosphere pictures...and I never do. So here's waht I got!

Here's a warning about Disney's costume sizing- the 3 year old could wear the 6-12M Roo costume we ordered for the baby...so thats why I took a baby Shrek to Disneyland! (I found what we had in the closet and saved Roo for next year!)

The Projections on the ground- the kids absolutely loved!

Even Pirates can Fly!

My family and I went on 10/20 to the Halloween bash and had a great time. The bash on this date was sold out. Belive it or ot you could not tell. There were no lines on any of the rides.(Actually the caterpillar was the only line.) The bash started at 7:30 and went until 11:30. They started letting people in at 7:00. We didn't go in until 7:45 because we were finishing eating dinner at La Brea. We had plenty of time to do everything, and hit every candy spot. (We rode every ride, and some even twice.) We recieved a wide varity of candy. My DH and I both agreed that we will be doing this event again next year.

P.S.
In regards to the lady in the last post. Mosters, Inc. Roz at the end of the ride there is someone sitting inside her looking at you. (That is where a control room is.) When you ride next time you will notice a camera to her right. (You may think it is a prop, however it is a real camera.) We make it a running challenge to get her to talk to us as long as possibleor say something funny. Friday night my husband pointed at her, and she responded "Hey what are you pointing at?".

Oh man sticky candy for sure. Actually all of our outside wrappers were sticky. Not sure why that was except there must have been a ton of open wrappers.

As for Roz, I was going to say the same as the previous poster, she speaks specifically to you. I was Cruella with the half black half white wig. She commented on my hair and maybe she should get hers done like that. We went right back on and this time she said "Are you still here?" I can't remember what I said, but she just said "Whatever."

We didn't have masks this year but last year my son was Jack Skellington. Every time he rode something with his mask on, the picture wouldn't come out. Except 1 time on Screamin. So I took a picture of the screen with my camera.

I am so excited. We are actually getting a room across the street so we can rest up before the big party.

Hey Great Pics! I was wondering what some of the effects and banners and such would have been like during that time. I missed the Halloween Treat by 4 days.
