Just got home yesterday from a great trip to WDW. I have never written a TR but will try to do my best.

This trip was a big group of friends and family. Total was 27 but we were not all together all the time.
The people I was with most of the trip were the following:

Me
DH
DD (7)
My cousin (who is lovedvc on these boards)
Cousin's dh
Cousin's ds (8)
Cousin's ds (5)
Friends Barbara and Dave
Friend's dd (9)

Then others here and there. Like I said big group on this trip.
We all stayed at CBR except for my cousin, she is DVC so she stayed at OKW. We were all on the dining plan.

Friday, October 13th.
Left the house at 12:30 for the start of our disney vacation. Check in with Jetblue was great did online checkin before we left home. While waiting for our 3:30 flight from JFK, my cousin and I went to get a snack and who do we see but Chicken Little (not the disney character, not Kevin Couvias from American Idol). He was heading to go do a show in Syracuse, NY. My cuz took my pic with him with her camera phone. He was very nice.

Landed at MCO around 6:15 and went to magical express, bus was there but then waited about 10 minutes for it to fill up more and head to CBR. By around 7 we were at CBR.
Checking in was fine but then had to wait about 20 minutes for an internal shuttle to take us to Old Port Royale to get some food, we were all starving. Got to use our first counter service credits. After filling our bellies we walked to our rooms at Trinindad North. Rooms were nicely decorated and a decent size but had a view of the parking lot. We had booked preferred rooms but that gives you preferred location very close to main pool and food court but not a preferred view. We had 5 rooms in a row on the second floor but our room was kinda around the bend from the other 4. Our view was the worst of the bunch. The other 4 rooms had a partial view of trees and greenery but all we had was the lovely parking lot. We were in room 3140.

The men decided to hang in one room for awhile to watch the Mets game and I was in our room with dd and friend's dd waiting for our luggage. At around 10:10 I got a knock on my door and here was my luggage or so I thought. My dh's golf clubs and one bag had arrived but there was one problem. One bag was still missing. Bellhop said it could be on the next truck or could still be at MCO because sometimes ME tags fall off. Great, that is all I would need. I started to unpack the one bag and I thought I split up all 3 of us pretty well into the 2 bags but as I put stuff away I realized I had shorts, bathing suit, PJs and stuff in this bag but NO shirts (they were all in bag 2). DH and DD had a few of each thing they needed but not lucky me. My friend Barbara said she would loan me shirts if my bag doesn't come.

DH comes back to our room and we head to bed. DH is watching the Mets game and I am laying in bed wondering where my shirts (and oh yeah my toiletries bag was in there too) were. So I decide at about 11 p.m. to call the bell hop to see if my bag had at least arrived at the hotel and luckily it had. :Pinkbounc He said it is already on its way to my room. I hang up the phone and not 2 minutes later the knock on my door. Hooray I say I can brush my teeth and go to bed. So I unpack that bag and head to bed.

Ok I will post more later. Next up Magic Kingdom....

I have heard the heat wave was really horrible. Thanks for posting and we will wait for your trip report. Hope it has some good examples of the restuarants you went to and the attractions you went on

Pumba,

I started my TR. I just edited my original post.
It sure was hot in disney. We came home yesterday and now today Orlando is only going to be 78. Heat wave must have left with us. :rotfl:

wow i was there 9/30-10/8 and we never saw 90. It was "hot" one day..but not dying hot. I'm front texas though so might be the difference. I think it averaged high 86.

looking forward to reading your TR

Hi Sue, so glad you've already started your TR. Am very
anxious to hear all about the disney magic. Nice to hear
the weather cooperated, hot and rain free sounds good
enough to me! Can't wait to hear more!! :thumbsup2

Nurseypooh

It was mid 80s the first few days but by Wednesday until we left it was in the low 90s. Broke Orlando record on Thursday. Old record was 91 and it hit 92 that day.

Sharon,

I am only doing this for you and Rhonda and Sheli. LOL.
If I didn't do it I know you guys would bug me to do one. :rotfl:
Rhonda is a good inspiration with her great TRs.

Sue :wave2:

Saturday Oct. 14th - Magic Kingdom

We were up and out at the bus stop by 8 am so that we could get to MK for the opening of the park ceremony. The buses were a bit to be desired. We seemed to always be waiting for a bus especially going to MK. It took a good 20 minutes for one to MK to finally come, we made it to the park by 8:45. MK wasn't too crowded today but we did use fast pass a few times. We rode lots of rides - trying to remember all that we rode that day. Small World, Snow White, Pooh, Philarmagic, Dumbo, Carousel (Mary Poppins rode the carousel with us, I have pics if I figure out how to post them)
Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, POTC, went to Toontown. I may be forgetting a few but you get the idea.
We saw the afternoon parade had dinner at CP with Pooh and pals. Dinner was very good. that night there was 12 of us at dinner.
Then we saw Spectro Magic and Wishes Fireworks. It was a long day for the kids (big and small). I think we got back to the hotel around 10. Of course we had to wait for the bus. First bus got filled but we made it on the second bus that came about 10 minutes later.

Next up .... MGM.

Hey Sue, Looks like your doing a great job so far. Maybe I can get away with not doing a report and just add to yours. HeHeHeHe

Sunday - Oct. 15 - MGM

Today the weather was low 80s and sunny. We headed out to MGM and as usual waited for a bus. When we hit the Big Hat we got to see Minnie Mouse and Chicken Little (character not American Idol guy, he was at JFK with us). We went on Rock N Roll Rollercoaster, saw the Little Mermaid Show, went on Tower of Terror, saw Playhouse Disney show, the guys went on Star Tours, saw the Muppets, went to the Lights, Motor Action Show, then saw the parade. We met the incredibles and some other characters. Headed to 50s PT for dinner. What a blast we had there. Our group for dinner tonight was 20 people. First, my cousin (lovedvc) got in trouble for leaving the table without asking to be excused and so she had to sing and dance "I'm a little teapot"! We laughed and laughed and then my friend's mom got a bib because she was making a mess. Laughed some more. then dinner was served and when our "uncle" came to clean the table I got in trouble for not eating my veggies. It was collid greens. Yuck, who eats them. LOL. Well anyway, out comes his train whistle and he begins blowing it and then "airplanes" my fork of yucky collid greens into my not very happy mouth. I was laughing so hard that tears were running down my cheeks. Lucky I was with my "loving family and friends" so they happily videod and took pics of this. So I can watch it over and over again. After our fun dinner we hit a few more rides and then headed to see Fantasmic. It was wonderful. Headed to the buses and tonight was a good night only about 2 minute wait for our bus. :cheer2:
Park wasn't too bad today it did get somewhat crowded but if you used the fast pass you were ok.

Next up... golf for the guys and Chef Mickey and pool for the girls....then everyone to Hoop Dee Doo Revue Show

thanks again for your report.......we are trying CP in December ....have never tried this restaurant.....sounds like you all had a blast at your PT too......thanks again

OMG...your writing this for me, you are THE best!!
I'm enjoying it so far. Sounds like prime time was
a blast! It must have been nice to spend vacation
time with family and friends that you are close to.
Lookin forward to hearing more!! :sunny:

We just returned from WDW on Monday of this week. We were there for 6 days. The weather was rain free.... but the temps were breaking records everyday we were there. Everyday was around 92-93 degrees. Also very (80%) humid !!!! Long long lines and lots of tired people :) I also saw lots of tired little kids. Got to look at the positive I guess..... at least your pictures are sunny and turn out great :) We stayed at SSR and also OKW. First time using our DVC points!!! Have been to disney many times though. Best trip ever !!! :sunny: :cool1:

It was horrible. We live in FL and were miserable. One day the weather gave the humidity at 99%! We left MNSSHP before the first parade. That was the 19th. After that we did ok, but we were out of the parks by 1 or 2 and back at the resort relaxing or swimming.

Was there the same time and the heat was bad. I was so hot and it made it so uncomfortable. I was expecting 70's and got 90's and very humid. During the MNSSHP on the 19th my 3 year old had to take off his buzz outfit it was sooooo hot..

Thanks for posting your trip report. :thumbsup2 Your dinner at 50's PT was a blast!

It sounds like you had a wonderful time in spite of the heat. But I'm so-o glad we changed our trip from October to November! :faint:

So where were all you guys? I always had my eye out for the lime green mickey and never spotted a one. If I did I was going to go say Hi. I was bummed I didn't find any disers on this trip.

I have checked Orlando weather since we left last Sunday and it has been 70ish even 69 one day. Guess we were the "lucky" ones to be there in October for a heat wave. :sad2:

ok Back to my TR

Monday October 16th.
The guys were up and out by 7:15 am to hit the golf course. They golfed the Lake Buena Vista golf course and loved it. They said it was really great.
The wives and daughters went to Chef Mickey for breakfast. 10 in all at this breakfast. The girls all loved all the characters. We met Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale. The food was also very good but was hard to eat because everytime you tried to put something in your mouth along came another character and we would all jump up for autographs and pictures.

After breakfast we hung out at our pool at CBR (it was hot) and waited for the golfers to come back. Well around 2:30 after golf and some beers they returned. Note to golfers: if you try to take a cooler (of beer) on the course with you, the rangers will confescate (sp?) it. They do return it to you at the end of your round.

My dd had a 5:15 appointment for BBB so around 3 I took her back to the room for a shower and then me, dd, and dh took the bus to DTD.
My dd LOVED BBB. It ware great. I would highly recommend this place for your little princesses. My dd got her nails, hair and make-up done. It took about 1/2 hour and cost $45. The photopass photographers were also on hand so I got lots of cute pics of her transformation.

After BBB we had a few minutes so dd got to play at the Lego Store. She played so nice all by herself for about 15 minutes building this really cute thing and she stepped away for maybe 20 seconds to get more legos and a little boy came over and knocked her entire creation over. In those 15 seconds he knocked it all over and cleared the lego board so there was no saving it. She came running to me crying and I felt soooo bad. I told her don't worry we can come back again and you have to stop crying or your pretty makeup will run. So she calmed down and we headed to the bus to take us to the Hoop Dee Doo Revue.

Our group tonight was 20 of us. 2 tables on the floor dead center what great seats we had. My friend's son got picked to be in the final act and my other friend's dad got picked by the singer to be sung too and get a big red lipstick kiss on his cheek. He was sooo embarassed but had a great time.
Food was fine and everyone enjoyed the show.
Only problem with HDD is it took us so long to get there. Bus from DTD to hotel and then internal bus which in all took us about an hour to do.
So after the show was over we decided to take the boat to MK and catch our bus there. What a GREAT decision that was.
As we were on the boat to MK the fireworks for the Halloween party started so we got to see the whole show. We also passed the water parade that goes by the hotels. What great timing we had. It was the best boat ride of our trip. :bounce:

Next up Princess Breakfast at Akerhaus and Epcot

Tuesday - October 17th

We started our day with the princess breakfast at Akerhaus. The food was excellent especially the potatoes in a cheese type sauce. Yum!! Then we got to meet all the princesses. Belle was there when you first came in and you posed for a picture before being shown to your table. then we saw Aurora, Mulan, and Snow White. The girls absolutely loved it. :cheer2:

We then headed to future world and rode Mission Space, Test Track, Soarin, journey with figment, then we were lucky and found out the new Nemo ride was having a soft opening so we got to ride it. Maybe a 15 minute wait and it was great. The park today wasn't bad early on but did get busier as the day went on. We then started around to the countries and the kids did the kidcot stops and we sampled some of the food and wine festival. The foods at these booths were very good. We also got to see the candy lady in Japan but unfortunately we were not picked to get a candy made. She was awesome to watch but DD was alittle disappointed she didn't get one. She only makes 6 candies per show. We made it all the way around. boy was that alot of walking. We did get a break from all the countries to have dinner at LeCellier which was excellent. Loved the pretzel breadsticks.
We stayed for Illuminations which was awesome. :wizard:
Oh yeah our celebrity spot was when we were walking around a cart came by right in front of us and Little Richard was on it. We tried to snap a picture but only got the back of his head. He was performing at the American Theatre Pavillion. We did hear one or two of his songs and he sounded pretty darn good.

Next up... Islands of Adventure and the start of the heat wave. 90 plus the rest of our trip..

Wednesday - October 18

Islands of Adventure - We took two cabs (8 of us) and it was $30 each way per cab so not bad at all. IOA was EMPTY!!!! We were there by around 10 and we pretty much walked on to every ride. It was really hot today and humid. I think it was 92 and did I say Humid!!! By 2:00 we had done everything that we wanted to ride which was maybe leaving 2 rides out. So we hopped back in a cab and back to CBR for a much needed swim.
That night we went to DTD and had dinner at Earl of Sandwich. It was very good. We did alittle shopping and then headed back to our hotel. Once again we waited for our CBR bus and as usual was the last bus stop in the row. Ugh!!!

Thursday - October 19

Animal Kingdom - Today broke the Orlando record. Old record 91 we hit 92 today and again very humid. As you all know AK seems to be the hottest park and boy was it hot today. Our first stop was EE and we grabbed fast passes and then hopped on line since it was only a 10 minute wait. We hit most rides without too much of a wait. We did wait 30 minutes for the safari but fast pass time was for much later in the day so we waited. We also used fast pass for Dinosaur. We got to watch the 4:00 parade and then headed out for our ADR at Whispering Canyon. What a blast we had at this place. the yelling for ketchup all the time and also my friend dropped her fork and they gave her a GIGANTIC wooden fork, it was so funny. The kids (big and small) had a great time here. After dinner we went back to CBR for a swim before heading to bed. It was still mid 80s around 9 when we got in the pool. CM's were saying this was like a July day not an October day. Guess we were just lucky. LOL...

Friday - October 20

Can you guess? Yep another 92 and humid day. We went to MK around 10 and did some rides that we missed our other day there like Aladdin, Stitch, Race Cars, Buzz Light Year and we tried Jungle cruise but it broke down and they said about an hour until it might be up and running again. So dh, dd and I hit a few stores and I got my favorite chocolate covered marshmallow on a stick. Yummy!!! Then we went back to our hotel for a swim.

We had dinner at Ohana's and that place was good. Too much meat for me but the men really enjoyed it. We then went to Epcot for EMH and walked around the countries and had some drinks. Got to see Illuminations again.

Saturday - October 21

We were tired by today and decided to just hang by the pool. It also was another 90 something day. We had lunch at Port Royale, it was ok. I had pizza but nothing compares to New York pizza.

Our last night so we had to have a fun dinner. We went to Chef Mickey's. 14 of us in all. Characters were great again (since dd and I had breakfast wtih them earlier in the week when guys were golfing) but we still had fun.
Then we went to DTD to finish up our shopping. Not to repeat myself but again waited about 20 minutes for a bus to CBR. Guess you can see the pattern here. :hourglass

Sunday - October 22

Check out day. We had a ME time of 8:30 am so by 7:50 the bellhop picked us up and brought us to the Custom House. Hopped on the 8:30 ME bus and was in the airport and through security by 9:30. We had an 11:30 flight home so we just hung out. Flight home on Jetblue was good, a little bumpy but not bad and we landed 10 minutes early at JFK. :woohoo: Our luggage came off rather quickly and off we went to the parking garage (my dad picked us up). Boy was it chilly when we got out of the airport. We missed our warm or should I say HOT weather.

So now back to reality. But what a great trip we had.
Even though the weather got really hot I still didn't mind it too much because I knew when I got home to NY I was in for a long, cold, snowy winter. I would take heat over snow any day.

Hope you liked my first ever TR!! All I can say is I tried my best.

Sue :wave2:
