10/12 Chicago DIS Meet Pictures - Better Late Then Never...

<p>So it's a little late... but here are some of my pictures from the recent Chicago
DIS meet.........</p>

<p>So I am driving to the Friday night Gino's East pizza meet during rush hour,
up a crowded expressway, which is under construction, and the leftmost of the
4 lanes is merging into the third lane. As any experienced Chicago driver will
tell you, you stay in the merging lane as long as you can, and get over at the
last minute. So with the merge coming up right in front of me, I start my move
over and the person in the station wagon waves me in. As I wave to the driver,
I see this car:</p>

<p>That's right, it's "The Beast". I took this through my sunroof at
the exit for the pizza place. It's a small world, after all, I guess. </p>

<p>I seriously think that my camera makes people close their eyes, even when they
don't know that I am taking their picture. Here we see Helenabear (Elaine, or
is that Cousin IT?? ), KimRaye (Rim), and Dopeygirl (Tricia).</p>

Ridge Mall</font></h1>

<p align="left">There was a Collector's Board meet scheduled for 10:00 A.M., with
the Community Board meet to begin at 1:00. Since I got home late the night before,
I got to the pin meet at 10:30. </p>

<p align="left">Not a whole lot of people this early, but we had about 20-25 people
show up, a very successful number.</p>

<p align="left">Debbie and Tim work on a Disney hat quiz that Cyndi brought that
was pretty challenging. Winners received pins or locking pin backs. A fun game.</p>

the CB'ers started to show up.</p>

While talking to me and writing out her nametag, she began to write Patrick's
name on the tag. Or maybe it was that hoosier education??? </p>

state Quarter. I think she missed....</p>

<p align="left">Glo wanted to take her family down into the city to see the sights.
Unfortunately, it was a cruddy day, but we gave it a try. So with Towncrier
riding shotgun, we made our way into the city.</p>

can come back again in the summertime, when the weather is a little nicer.</p>

to everyone who came, especially those who made the long trip to Chicago. The
weekend was really fun.</p>

Did we have to post that picture of me trying to bean Patrick?? I missed by the way, but Ellen gave me a few more quarters she had in her pocket to get him with

We did have a great time...even at Navy Peir...I will be back, I can bet you that, and so won't the family, though I am not sure the drive will be an option....

Great pictures, Brian. A great two days we had together with lots of nice folks, brought together by the DIS. I love some of the expressions you caught, the one of Kim with that glass (looks like a priest at mass, LOL) Dr P ordering 7 more, Elaine's over the shoulder glance and all the pin traders.
