Cast of characters-
Me- 34 year old lover of everything and anything that is Disney. Would live and work at Disney if given the chance!!
DH39- Puts up with my obsession with Disney. Has learned that it does no good to fight it. Can talk like Goofy and has been known to act like him at time!!
DS8- Loves Disney almost as much as his mom! Told us on this trip that he wants to be a vet and work at Animal Kingdom!
Okay, so the day started off bright and sunny. I hopped out of bed at 5:30 a.m. Don't have to be at work yet! Waiting impatiently for time to fly! Wake DS up at 6:30. Stuff him full of good breakfast foods! Shuttle him off to school. Finally get to work and get everything done. By noon I am ready to leave for our vacation!!
Fast forward. Okay, DS's school normally gets out at 2:30. The day we leave for our trip the class had a late start getting to spanish class. By 2:45 no sign of his class yet. What's up people!! Don't you know that I have a schedule to keep? I have a date with a mouse!! Lots of foot tapping and around 2:55 DS finally runs out of the classroom. I ask him "Got you books for the make up work?" No, he says. I forgot them. I send him back into the school. Again he comes running out. This time loaded down with books! Okay, finally we are on the road! Ugh!! 3 p.m. by this time. Okay, I am starting to simmer down now. Major meltdown averted! Deep cleansing breaths! In with the good air, out with the bad!! We are on the road for no more that 30 minutes when I hear the sounds of my son getting sick. Unfortunately, he decided not to eat lunch. When he doesn't eat, he gets sick. Needless to say we had to pull over to the next rest area. Finally get him cleaned up and changed into a new set of clothes. We buy him dinner and are on our way once again!! The smell would stay with us for the entire trip. Another good reason for Disney transportation!!
Finally we arrive in Orlando at around 6 p.m. Now for the decision time. Do we check into the hotel first, or do we go to the parks first. Then it hits me *bam* If we go to the parks first we have to pay to park. Not wanting to pay more then necessary we decide to check in first. We arrive at POR. After a short wait we are finally checked in. She shows us where our room is. We are in Oak Manor room 9050. Very nice room and just a short walk to the Lobby. Which would come in handy later in the week. We are just across from the fountain and it was very peaceful there. She points out where the nearest bus stop is. Fine, good. Give me my keys, we have a date with a big golf ball!!
We decide to drive to EPCOT. We get to the front with our parking pass in hand and there is no one at the booth. I told hubby that $20 bucks says that if we would have went there first there would have been someone waiting. LOL!! Murphy's law was proving that it had a sense of humor!! Okay, so we arrive at Guest relations. We have our vouchers in hand. We hand them over along with our ID's. They give us our tickets and we are finally official!! Yay!!
So now we have an important choice to make. Do we head over to Soarin? DH and DS have been begging to do this ride since we left home. Do we do Test Track? I want to do that one.... Hmmmm choices, choices. The guys win this round. I must admit I want to ride it too. The posted wait time was 50 minutes. Okay, not too good, but not too bad either. So after what felt like a short wait we are on the ride. I must say that this ride is a must do!! I loved it!! So we get off the ride and walk over to Spaceship Earth! We ride this one and then we decide to make it an early night!!
Coming next- MGM Studios and MNSSHP- Better known as "Mom, I have to go to the bathroom now....ooops too late...."
