10,000th post - with a Trip Report and a full Disney Dining Plan Analysis

A very good first park day, got a lot packed into it. Great pics too.

Are you going to do a running tally of each day's totals? Like Barbie once said "Math is hard!" :rotfl2:

Was going to comment about avoiding the rain, but I re-read it and saw the end of the report. All and all though, you got the whole day in dry, very good.

Yeah... I was going to do final tally's at the end, but you are right... In case Barbi is following along, I will do daily totals.

I am currently summarizing the DDP on post #3... I will add up totals shortly.

Thanks Brent.

This is our first trip with the DDP (we have FD ) Were the churros part of the meal (meal, drink, dessert) with the dining plan? I can already see I'm going to over indulge. To be honest, I'm not sure if I'm sad or happy about that ;)

Thanks for letting us live vicariously through you!

Yes Chelley the churros are the dessert.

And they were realllly good!

Everything I spotlight in the dining portion of this report is part of the DDP. :thumbsup2

Thank you :)
They look awesome! I put it on the list of restaurants for Epcot!! :cool1:

Looks like a fun day! I'm glad you had a meet at MS and the green was the color of the side of the ride you were on, not the color of anybody's face.

The new Agent P thing looks like fun.

I can't believe you didn't include a picture of the giant attacking the Germans. I just hope the dadin question wasn't a disdad.

I can't believe you went to Via Napoli and didn't get pizza.

Looks like a great day! Kids do look tired in your Via Napoli pics! Reminds me of my kids faces during our last trip.

Great job on the DisDad meet up! I thought you texted me and said you did the orange side! Wimp! Just kidding.

Your food pics look amazing and are making me extremely hungry this morning.

DS had pizza... so I snuck a piece of his... ;)

As for the Giant attacking the Germans... you are right. I am not sure how we missed that pic. I don't like purposely taking pics of other peoples kids... But I guess this was more situational... :rotfl2:

We did Green with Chris, as we just finished lunch, and did not have a FP (wait for Orange was 30 mins, Green was 5).

Later in the week, DS and I just may have done Orange... who knows, I guess you'll just have to keep reading. :wizard:

After lunch, I got a text from a fellow DISDad. "I am in Epcot, about to leave and head to Magic Kingdom.".
I texted him back right away, and told him we just finished lunch and are heading to Mission:Space.

So he quickly changed his plans, headed over to M:S and the first DISDad meet of the trip took place.

We introduced ourselves, our families, and hit it of great.

This is Chris aka ClearScreen around these neck of the woods.

Disney2012179640x480.jpg

We rode Mission:Space together. As I mentioned we just finished lunch so it was the Green Side. My son had not ridden M:S yet, so he was going to take it easy his first time out. Both our son's sat together, and became good friends for the brief time together.

Those are some handsome men right there! :cool1:

The boys did have a good time together. Mark calls Seth his "Disney friend."

I wish they/we could have done a few more things together, but I was with my wife's family (10 of us) and had certain unavoidable obligations. :rolleyes1

Enjoying your TR and the photo's. How fun to meet up with a DISDad. Glad the 4 of you were able to enjoy M:S.

See.. read the boards and you most likely will learn something new.
When you look across the World Showcase lagoon towards Morocco just before you reach Mexico, there was a building out of place in the skyline of Morocco. It was originally off colour, and clearly didn't belong. So Disney rethemed the back of this building to fit in with the view of Morocco, including the pillars on the top of the roofs. That building... is Hollywood Tower of Terror. :confused3 Something I was unaware of - thanks for sharing!

Looking forward to more reading. :surfweb:

Thanks for joining Lisa...

:welcome:

If nothing else comes of this trip report, I can rest easy knowing that I shared some Disney Magic with a new friend.

Monday August 20

Another early day, up and at 'em.

We miss rope drop by about 15 minutes.

Today we head to

Disney2012317480x640.jpg

We start the day with a Princess Meet and Greet.

I told Rapunzel my son had a song for her. As you can see she loved his rendition of

:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1
Flower, gleam and glow
Let your power shine
Make the clock reverse
Bring back what once was mine
:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Disney2012295640x480.jpg

I told her he's really 86 years old, but singing that keeps him young. :lmao:

We then moved down the line and met Belle and Cinderella as well.

We continued our trek up Main Street USA, and then turned right, where I made a quick trip over to Space Mountain to grab some Fastpasses, while the rest of the family we found themselves at the Highlands of Scotland where the kids had a chance to practice archery

Disney2012331640x480.jpg

Disney2012333640x480.jpg

And then we all had an opportunity to meet with the noble Scottish princess Merida

Disney2012342480x640.jpg

Now after the family meet, I asked myself..."If you had an opportunity to get your picture taken with just you and Merida alone.... Wooooooouuuld ja?"
The answer was, "Yes, I woooould..."

Disney2012344480x640.jpg

After our brush with Scotland's finest, we head up into Fantastyland. We met with Alice and the White Rabbit, rode the teacups, and made our way into Storybook Circus, where we noticed a lot of peanut shells on the ground, as well as elephant prints (maybe even in a hidden Mickey)

Disney2012376640x480.jpg

This can only mean one thing... we found DUMBO!

Disney2012378640x480.jpg

Disney2012365640x480.jpg

Disney2012366640x480.jpg

Gotta say, the new Dumbo has brought this old worn out amusement park ride, to a clean crisp Disney Attraction. The details of the setting, the ride structure, the fountains, and at night the lights really bring you into the circus.

After Dumbo, I got a text from another DISDad, and I just happen to be heading to Space Mountain with 4 fastpasses (2 of which I am planning on using). So I text him back and tell him to meet me at the FP entrance to Space Mountain as I have 2 extra FP's. So he does, and we Me, DS, and him with his DD all ride together.

Then We head back towards the hub, where we get the DISDad Photo in front of Cinderella Castle.
And here is DISDad meet number 2. This is my family with Barry (FreezinRafiki around here) and his DD.

Disney2012383480x640.jpg

After the meet, Barry heads back to meet the rest of his family, and we head to lunch.

Con't...

After lunch it's off to visit the 999 happy haunts.

We went through the Graveyard.

Disney2012405640x480.jpg

Very cool stroll thorough, lots of interactive things. Kids loved playing the Musical wall

Disney2012412640x480.jpg

While DW plays the piano

Disney2012413640x480.jpg

And everyone tries to clean up the bookshelf...a haunting task indeed.

Disney2012420640x480.jpg

After the Haunted Mansion we meet back up with Barry for a Dole Whip.
I ordered first, and mine kinda melted in the hot Florida sun while waiting for them to make his.

Disney2012434640x480.jpg

While enjoying our Dole Whips, we got another text, and had another DISDad meet.

Barry, Myself, and Chris.

Disney2012435640x480.jpg

Wow, it really is a Small World... Oh speaking of which, that's where we headed next.

Disney2012462640x480.jpg

After Small world, I had another meet up with a close friend from home (No pic at this time as I don't have one of just us, not sure how his family reacts to being posted online... :) )

But we all headed over to the Sword In The Stone. My DS was determined to pull it out, as he did in 2010.

Disney2012466640x480.jpg

Apparently it's more slippery now than it was then! ;)

Sword2.jpg

After Sword, we head over to Frontierland, where we rode Splash Mountain, we were going to ride Big Thunder but DS started feeling a little ill. Must have been a bit of an upset stomach from earlier in the day, as he had no problem with his dinner.

Speaking of which... we are heading to dinner now.

Disney2012514640x480.jpg

Checked out some of the stunning art...

Disney2012516640x480.jpg

Disney2012519640x480.jpg

Then surfed on back to the Magic Kingdom

Disney2012521480x640.jpg

We rode Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, here's another tip we found out in 2010. Notice the horse DD is riding. That horse was Walt Disney's wife (Lillian's) favorite horse. Whenever she rode the ride she would ride that exact horse. It is also said to be Cinderella's horse. And how do you identify this horse?
It's the only one with a gold ribbon on it's tail.

Disney2012531640x480.jpg

Night time Castle Picture

Disney2012535480x640.jpg

And then we headed back to Main Street, for the Magic The Memories and You.

And of Course, Wishes... Who doesn't get teary eyed watching Wishes?

Disney2012589480x640.jpg

Disney2012617480x640.jpg

And after Wishes, we head back to the resort... I am pretty sure we have a busy day tomorrow as well.

Check out that crowd!

Disney2012624640x480.jpg

After this pic, I had a quick trip to the Emerg room... :rotfl:

ALOT of the view!
Hey, we're on vacation... don't judge! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Isn't that last part of that line "because I'm beautiful!"

Oh wait, never mind. It is "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful!"
