1 Week From Today The Cat Will Be Out of the BAG!

Well one week from today (Christmas Eve) the cat will finally be out of the bag - the surprise trip we've been planning since September!

For those of you who don't recall my earlier posts we are doing a Grand Gathering trip in July for all our children/spouses and grandchildren. 15 in all. We are giving our older children and grandchildren the trip as a surprise Christmas present. They have no idea at all!

We are doing it up right - 7 nights at YC, magic your way tickets plus dining, airfare and spending money.

I had personalized invitations made up with a Tinkerbell background. I put them in frames and wrapped them up. After they open these (and realize where they are going) I have bags made up with the planning dvd, guidebooks, disney dollars and personalized Mickey christmas ornaments. For the grandchildren I have giant Disney stuffed animals, disney sing a long dvds, disney pajamas, disney duffle bags (personalized) and disney personalized carry ons and disney dollars.

I'm so excited I could bust!!! Our younger kids (10, 8 and 7) have been soooo good about keeping the secret - they've known since September and haven't slipped up once! They know that our grandchildren wouldn't be able to go without this gift so they are really excited for them. Our grandchildren and younger kids aren't that far apart in age - the grandchildren are 6, 4 and 3 so it should be a blast.

Your family sounds like mine. We have the older children, the younger children, and the grandchildren. I'm so excited that I don't have to wait to carry someone to Disney like I would have to if I had to wait for the younger children to have children. I just take the older children's children and everything continues on! I have a new generation of Disney fun!!! (they to go with Nana!!)

I hope this trip will be exactly what you want it to be!!!

WOW, what a very generous Christmas present you are giving to your family. I started to cry when I was reading your post. I would be busting at the seams by now and your children are doing great on keeping the secret. I love the idea of the invitation in the frames. You all are going to have such a blast. We are going in January and our DD 8 has no clue this is her Christmas gift!!! I CANNOT wait to talk about it with her once she knows!!!! SO EXCITED!!!! Hope your trip is a blast!!

Thank you for all your good wishes. I am so excited. Luckily I'm super busy this week so it should help the time pass.

I can't wait until everyone knows (especially my oldest dd) so we can start our planning.

DH and I and the three youngest kids are leaving January 10-15 for Disney so DH can run the marathon. As soon as we come home it will be time to make our July ADRs. Can't wait!!!!

Wow, that is awesome!! I wish our family would do a grand gathering, but that will never happen. I am pretty much the only Disney freak or fan for that matter. Mom always says she wants to go, but has a bad back and does not want to get a ECV which she would need. Her back hurts her just grocery shopping.

Well my dd and my dgs just stopped by on their way to the store. We have the monorail, GF and the Castle sets up in our living room. Other people have train sets - we have a monorail set! It was so cute to watch my grandson playing with the monorail.

The wait is killing me - 4 days to go. After seeing how much dgs enjoying the toy monorail I can't wait to see his face when he sees the real one!

Robyn, enjoy your family's surprise!!! I have very generous parents, too....I know what they're giving me (they don't know I know, and I am smiling thinking about it!!! ) Your kids will LOVE your gift. I hope I can WOW mine for Xmas, too, when they're grown.
