We like the GC but can't get AP rates for the dates we want to travel in November. So a standard room is $248. Optionally we can get 2 standard rooms (adjoining) at the DLH for $139 each or $278 total, plus taxes. We have never stayed at the DLH and love the GC. Any advice? Will we be happy and pleasantly surprised at the DLH, or will we be longing for the GC? We like the non-smoking environment at the GC and the close proximity to the parks. We have two children, 2 and 5.

Hi there, fellow Northern Californian,

DH and I stayed at DLH about 2 weeks ago and LOVED it there. It definitely had the onsite Disney feel. We stayed in a corner room in the Sierra tower facing the Neverland pool. We loved the Disney touches in the room/bathroom like the pixie dust and bedspread.

Just make sure, like we did, to insist on a non-smoking room. Also, the proximity to the parks isn't bad as you can take the monorail or walk through downtown Disney.

I say, give DLH a shot and you would be pleasantly surprised. :Pinkbounc

Hi and thanks for your opinion. I think we'll try out the DLH and have more space and enjoy the theming!
