1 Park a day or park hopper?

My DD (8) and DS (6) are heading to California next month. We plan to spend 3 days at Disneyland... are we better off trying to accomplish one park a day or should we get park hoppers?

Imho park hoppers. But 3 days is the easiest ticket to 1 day DCA & 2 days DL. But, I'm just not sure DCA is a full day park these days. If you have a kid that doesn't make the height limits for soarin or rsr it's DEFINITELY not a full day park.

Park hopper so with MaxPass is perfect if it's in your budget.

If the extra cost is not a problem, parkhoppers. It gives you more freedom for sure. You’d probably like it best on your third day so you can revisit any favorites at both parks.

I will say our first trip we did not do hoppers and there was so much to keep us busy in one park we never had time to even consider that we might like to park hop. We definitely park hop now that we have APs and know the parks better, but there are still some days we stay just in one park.

Hoppers.....always park hoppers...flexibility is the key!

Don’t really care to get wet. DD is very big on art and DS is a huge cars fan.

Parkhoppers and MaxPass! We always hop and I loved MaxPass on our last trip.

so do the mornings at Disneyland, then spend afternoon in animation building one day, carsland the next day afternoon and on those two days you can return to Disneyland at night, after you have seen DCA at night. The third day, no need to park-hop over to DCA unless you miss WOC the first two nights, then watch it your third night......the value is to what extent you want to return to Carsland and animation building with children your age.

for first time visitors i discourage park hoppers because you have no concept on when to hop, when do you return hop and what response your children will have with fear factor elements. Second time visitors should always park hop.

IMO, it makes absolutely no sense not to do park hoppers at DLR since it's so easy to hop from one to the next. WDW is a completely different story.

Not even a question. Park hop definitely. You don't want to miss out on anything when you can just go from one park to the next.

I would suggest the hoppers. The parks are so close to one another so it is well worth the price. It would be awesome if Disney would bring back the People Mover and have it go from Disneyland to California Adventure.
