Hi all,

A little help please from you Disney experts. My husband will be working in Anaheim and since he has the room and the car, we decided to make a family trip out of it. So, now that we decided to go for it, I'm getting a little panicky about being at Disneyland with a 6 year old boy and a 4 year old girl (hubby will be working) by myself. Do you know what rides we can go on (all 3 or us). My son is about 44 inches and daughter is 40 inches. For example, Thunder Mountain is a 2 seater right? Do they seat the 2 kids together and parent behind?

Also, any hints about going to the bathroom (well actually, I think I'll just have to drag my son with us) eating (getting a table etc.) would be much appreciated.

Thank you (in advance), we leave June 22nd (this trip is totally last minute).

Not familiar with Disneyland ... but based on Magic Kingdom @ WDW ... you can ride the Teacups, It's a Small World, Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, Pooh ... plus I'm sure there are more.

I'm thinking you might all be able to squeeze together in a car at BTMR ... if not you can let the CM know how you want to sit ... kids together, you behind ... or maybe son in front you and DD behind.

And take your son in the ladies room ... I still do that with my 10 y.o. grandson when I'm traveling with him and his sister ... he's a small kid and better safe than sorry!

I think you can go on most of the rides in Disneyland. You can look online at www.disneyland.com and see what the height requirements are. I took my kids at that age (before California Adventure was open) and I think the only rides they couldn't ride were Indiana Jones and one other one but I can't remember what it was. By the way, they are both very short for their ages. My 12.5 year old is only 4' 10" now. They rode Space Mountain, Splash Mountain (my youngest had on sandals with a high heel) and I'm pretty sure Big Thunder Mountain (maybe that's the other one they couldn't ride). We went to California Adventure when they were older and they could ride everything but I think the river ride, the roller coaster and the dropping/falling ride (sorry I don't remember the correct names) might have height restrictions.

While you're there, make sure you stop in at Tinkerbell's shop for storytelling by one of the princesses. I think that's my favorite activity for kids. It's been several years since we've been so I hope they still do that--it will be listed on the schedule or ask at the shop (it's in Fantasyland).

Enjoy!!!

You can ride It's A Small World, Pirates of the Carribean, the Teacups, Splash Mountain (height requirement), Jungle Cruise, Storybook Land Canal Boats, and more than likely Peter Pan with both kids without a problem. On rides such as Dumbo if you all want to ride at the same time, a CM will ride with your son or daughter in a separate elephant, the kids think it's cool to get to ride with one of "mickey mouse's helpers" and they will do this on rides like Autotopia, Buzz Lightyear, and other rides as well.

i rode BTMR w/ 2 of my DD's. we all sat together. this was at DW, but i guess it would be the same at DL. we were able to ride TONS of rides together. it was great!

Thank you so much for your helpful hints. I've been trying to study the Disney promo DVDs to figure out which rides are 2 seaters or which ones can do more. I'm guessing that for Splash Mountain, we have to wait for my husband (although they meet the height requirement, it says that children under 7 need to ride with an adult).

Is the Buzz Lightyear only a 2 seater? I think I can convince my kids to ride with eachother if I sit in another seat close behind (e.g. Matterhorn bobsleds). I'm guessing I can either squeeze or do the same for BRTM. Any information on Gadget's Go Coaster or Roger Rabbit's Car Toon spin?

Thank you again for your help!

9 more days till we're there!

I do not know what the new Splash Mountain logs are like, we skipped that one when we were there, because of the many things I have heard about them, and the fact that I am not crazy about the drop. But, on the old Splash Mountain logs, you could easily ride together, you would be at the back of the seat, and your children would be in front of you. I am pretty sure the new logs are the same way. There are no sort of restraints or anything though, so encourage your children to hang on to the inside bars, especially if they are small kids.

Gadgets Go Coaster won't be a problem, the kids can sit together and you can sit directly behind them, or you can let them each sit in their own car.

Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin, depending on the age of the kids, I would not send a child through alone, it can be pretty intense, picture the teacups spinning through the dark in Mr Toads Wild Ride. You could send the kids together, and follow in the next car, or you could ride with one child and let the other child sit with a CM.

Hope this helps!

I forgot to answer about Buzz Lightyear, yes it is only a two seater, and you wouldn't want more than that anyway, as there are only two guns per car, and that is all the fun of the ride. Send the two kids together, or send one with a CM. The Buzz Lightyear cars are similiar to Haunted Mansion but they spin.
