1 or 2 days W/park to park tickets

I have a will be 8 and 4 year old, the 8 year old is a thrill seeker, and I think will love universal. I am debating 2 day park to park tickets or just 1 day. We will get express pass for 1 day in both scenarios (or stay deluxe haven't decided yet).

I haven't been to universal in about 8 years, I loved it last time I went, but we did 1 day park to park.

I mostly worry they 4 year old might be bored if we do 2 days, any thoughts?

ETA - is it a bad idea if i do 2 days to break up the days with Disney in-between?

I typically recommend 3 days for a first trip, as there is so much to see and do. We did 5 days on our first trip without EPs, and our 8 and 10 yo daughters loved it.

So in your case I would say 2 days, but with a 4 yo, the second day might need to be geared towards the younger sibling. There a decent amount to do (Seuss area, Hogwarts Express, shows, shops, etc).
