1 night extension at Coronado Springs - which room should I book?

How should I get that additional night?

I have a 2 nights reservation at Coronado Springs resort and need to add an additional night before we head off to Universal. I managed to get a decent rate for a standard king room for the first 2 nights, but it has become pretty expensive to add another night.

I'm considering booking a separate reservation for either a standard room (2 queens) or a standard tower room (2 queens) for a night. Either of these choices would be cheaper than extending my original reservation. Plus I thought it would be fun to experience the new tower rooms even if it's only for a night.

I do have the option of doing a new reservation for 3 nights in a standard queen room but that would mean paying slightly more and we wouldn't get to enjoy the king bed at all (it's just my husband and myself).

--------

Couple of things:

- We would be preparing to go to Universal studios, so it wouldn't be too much hassle for us to pack majority of our stuff a day early (in the event that we have to switch rooms).

What would you do if you were me? Would really appreciate some advice!

You are already moving once to go to UO. I wouldn’t want to move another time just for one night, so voted stay in your same room. We are actually doing the same thing, and I too decided to add one more disney day. It took a few days, but with checking a few times a day I was able to add that extra day at the same rate, and since I called and spoke to someone, they melded the last day into the same reservation so we don’t have to worry about the possibility of switching rooms. Maybe try calling and speaking to someone, you might get surprised and just be able to add that extra day at the same rate.

I'm not sure how much extra it is to stay in the same room, but I would choose this option is I could afford it at all. I wouldn't want to move for that one night if I could avoid it. If the extra $$ is a deal breaker, I would move to the tower to at least experience something new.

glocon makes a good point about continuing to check. You may get lucky. Plus, calling to explain to CM's may get you some pixie dust.

Here's a little from me to try and help you along: pixiedust:

Good luck!

I agree with pp's that I'd stay in the same room. With that said, if that is too cost prohibitive as Babsy posted, I agree to try the new tower rooms. Good luck! :)

That's such good advice. Thank you!! I'm going to try and see if I can get that same room at the same or maybe not that much higher rate.
