Heading down on March 31st for a 9 day trip to Orlando. Staying mostly with a very large group at a friends timeshare where our whole group 30+ people could stay.

My family and one other are spending the first night at Boardwalk Villas before heading over to the other timeshare on Friday afternoon.

We don't get into MCO until 6:45 so that puts us at the resort by 8?

I want to get as much Disney in as I can in that very short period of time. Not doing any parks, Universal this trip.

What would you all do?

If you are not too tired on arrival evening, I'd go out on the Boardwalk and enjoy some of the entertainment & games, and watch IllumiNations at 9 pm. There are many good spots along the Boardwalk. Then (if there weren't children along), I'd spend some time at JellyRolls. If there are children along, I'd just go back to the room at that point and go to sleep to get ready for tomorrow. :)

In the morning, I'd breakfast at one of the Swan/Dolphin restaurants. (Remember, DVC members get a 20% discount). Consider Fresh (in the Dolpohin) or Garden Grove (Swan). Then spend a little time in the pool or perhaps mini-golf (Fantasia Gardens is across the street from the Swan) before departing to the timeshare.

Have fun!

Hi Carol!

We have children....and teenagers along so we can tuck them into bed and head over to Jellyrolls. My DVC card is MIA along with my purse stolen last summer. Should I just call MS to get another one. For the discount at breakfast?

We are hoping that everyone sleeps in on Thurs since we don't have to be at the airport till 1:30. I of course will be diligent and go into work!

Love the info about illumnations.

Do you think that is a good timeline for airport to resort?

We just went this past Friday. Our flight landed at 10:44. We booked down to ME and made it on a bus right before it left. We got to AKV by 12:30. I think you may be there more around 8:30. Hope this helps.:goodvibes

Yes, either call MS to order a replacement, or send an email. We seem to need that blue card more and more often to get the member dining & shopping discounts. I know for a fact that you need it to get the discounts at the S/D resorts.

Found out by accident, that the Garden Grove (Swan) has character breakfasts on the weekends. I am so mad at myself for leaving the camera in the room yesterday morning. (We walked over to the GG for breakfast before we left for the airport). Could have gotten some great pictures with Pluto and Goofy. Oh well, maybe next time.

LOL. Good luck concentrating!

You're welcome. And if you are out n the Boardwalk earlier in the evening, the entertainers can be quite funny. Dave & I were in the audience for two of them last Friday and both left laughing. Good for both kids and adults. :)

Do you think that is a good time line for airport to resort?
Yes, if all goes well. I'm assuming you have a car/van reserved since you are spending most of the trip at an off site timeshare. It takes about 40 minutes to get to the resort from the airport (take the south route - less traffic & tolls about the same). So the rest of the time line depends on how long it takes to get off the plane, get your bags and rental car. You may have to wait longer than you think for your bags, so maybe 8:30 pm would be a better estimate. Check in at that time shouldn't take too long and your room should be ready.

Enjoy - we love the BWV!

What other restaurants utilize that card?

Since there are 9 of us, the kids and moms are taking ME over to the resort while the menfolk go get the car we are sharing for the week.

Very excited!
