1 month left on my contract & then I want an Iphone - should I wait for new version ?

Hi

I have wanted an Iphone for over a year and I;ve been very patient (esp while dh has his)

I have one month left on my contract with vodaphone - then I'm free

I was telling dh this last night and he said is there not a new version iphone coming soon

Does anyone know about this???

What would you do should I give my notice to Vodaphone? Dh keeps finding apps I;ve added to his phone like the wdw dining one - I just want one but if a better one comes a long hmmmm

I have heard that there will be a new version coming out in July. However that said my 02 contract for my last phone expired last Monday, I had an iphone by Wednesday! The way I saw it was that the current iphone does exactly what I want it to do and it does the things well. Plus if it is anything like last time a new iphone was available they will be impossible to get for a while (and I wanted one to take with my to America this summer so I wasn't taking any chances.)
It's up to you I guess though, I was too impatient to wait any longer!!

Is the new one going to have a better camera on it? that's the only thing that puts me off it.

Apple is just one of those companies that develops a cutting edge product then continues to improve it, so a new iPhone will come and will be better than the previous versions. Apple usually bring out their new products in September, however, they did launch the original iPhone in July.

It depends on what you are like, if you like to have the very latest technology then you could wait and see what September brings. However, they will improve on that one so eventually it will not be the best version.

I know there is a software update coming out but I am not sure whether that is for a new iPhone or whether it is just an update on the existing software. I know there is talk about cut and paste and MMS being added.

The iPod Touch runs many of the apps too but obviously doesn't have the phone options.

I have not heard any talk about improving the camera yet. However, seeing photos on the iPhone screen the photos do look clear. I would suspect the photo quality deteriorates if you try and blow the photo up to a larger size.

Usually 30 days notice is required by the phone companies to end your contract.

I think I would be tempted to hang on till September and just see what the latest (if indeed there is a latest) is but I do like up to date tech.

Yes wait!

New phone will have a better camera (sources say 3.2, still not great but the optics will be first rate), video also. this morning rumours of HD capability (in terms of showing via TV)

If you are happy your current phone then the new 3.0 software will give you a host of updates including copy and paste across all applications, MMS plus a
lot, lot more! Still the very best smartphone.

You pays your money......

I am the same. I am with three, and I will be ending my contract and getting an iPhone.

I am with three, and I will be ending my contract.

We are with 3 and the network has been a nightmare, with calls cutting out. We cannot wait to end our contracts.
