Just saw on Universal's Facebook page that in celebration of selling of 1 million butterbeers, 1,000 free ones were given to park guests.

How much is a butterbeer? $4. something? So that's at least 4 million dollars made just off butterbeer. Holy cow!

And it's almost $10 in the collector mug which most people I saw were carrying. I can say personally my family bought about 40 of those 1 million butterbeers in 2 days.

Ah frozen butterbeer I can not wait until Feb 5th when we meet again.:goodvibes

That's alot of cream soda, oh I mean Butterbeer ;) But it was cool of them to give some out as well :)

This actually surprises me... I would have though it much HIGHER than a million. Seems like they could have gone through a million opening week with the crowds they had.

WOW!!!! That is a lot of Butterbeer sold.

I must admit I wasn`t sure I would like it.......but I did. We had 3 frozen each and 2 non frozen, much preferred the frozen........and bought the souvenier mugs, tried to recreate my own.....but it wasn`t the same.

Well done Universal :thumbsup2

The whole time we were in WWOHP I was just stunned by how much they were making in souvenirs. Absolutely hand over fist.

We don't buy a lot of souvenirs, but we were there during the freeze last month, and finally had to break down and by scarves. None of us liked the cheaper&smaller scarves with the crest on them, so that was over $111 for the 3 scarves. Then a house tie lanyard for me and DS (I loved putting my Tinkerbell pouch under my Ravenclaw lanyard) at 9.95 a pop. We decided that the Butterbeer mugs would work WELL as souvenirs, so each of us bought one with butterbeer (the stand had the ingredients! a bunch of junk chemicals, but none that we actively avoid, WOO!), so that's $30 for mugs (and drinks) plus we bought one more at 3.25.

Keychains, shirts, stuffed animals...just astonishing numbers of souvenirs being sold to people every second, even during a relatively quiet period.

Oh, and of course two wands for hubby and son, so that's another $60 they earned from us.

When you imagine how little they paid for all of those things, especially the resin wands, machine-made scarves, and the lanyards...oh how I wish I were their accountant, to see alllll those numbers!

Good going Universal! My family and I contributed to the count-the frozen is delicious! The souvenirs were great-loved the variety and the quality overall was terrific. So glad to hear how well the WWOHP is doing-would love to see an expansion!!!

HP is Universal's money tree for sure and will be for years to come.

Way to go Universal!!!:goodvibes
