Hello all! And I welcome you to my first ever, Pre-Trip report, like ever! Not saying I have never taken a trip to the World before, oh lordy no, because I have, 13 times! And let's be honest who really counts after the 10th right? I have well over a year before my next trip to WDW, financially I must be a responsible adult and pay bills, but the real reason is that I want to make my next trip, which will have my son, (and hopefully my parents), the best trip we have ever had. I want to do tours, ride rides we haven't been able to in the past, and eat at places that I have had the worst time getting ADR's for. I'm looking at August 2016 for this adventure, and if we have enough time, I would love to do some off site fun as well. We usually stay at a value resort, but if the money fairies have there way, I'd love to be able to stay at the Wilderness or somewhere like that. At this point in time, the world is wide open in terms of what I want to do and I'm getting super excited about it every day. Follow me, if you will, on my road to the most epic Disney vacation ever!!!!
I guess I should start with a little background info on myself right? That seems to be the norm and the right thing to do! My name is Lindsay and I'm a 36 year old single mom of a soon to be 12 year old son! (You COULD say I'm 36, or you could say I'm 18 with 18 years experience, I like that one better) I currently live in York, PA, or most recently known as the frozen tundra. Seriously, this is getting way out of hand, and I have noticed that Elsa has been arrested by quite a few police departments via Facebook, but I'm not noticing any changes in the weather. I have lived pretty much everywhere except the west coast. I've called Maryland, Tennessee, Georgia, and Wisconsin home. Currently I work at the local emergency department with the normal 12 hour shifts, never a dull moment. I am happy to say that I have turned a lot of people over to the Disney Side, and I love it!
I was thinking the other day about how I want to pay for this epic vacation and of course the first thought was to win the lottery. Now, in my heart of hearts I know that won't happen, so I thought about the realistic ways to save. I noticed that disney has a vacations savings club online and I have to say I love it! I have put some money aside in that, AND I put some extra money aside in my regular vacation fund. Now that the tax refund is in, I went ahead and paid some bills a few months ahead so that I could put aside the money i would normally use to pay bills with, into one of the vacation funds. I also heard about people buying Disney Gift cards and using those to pay off the trips with. I don't know much about that, (and if you do know anything about this, please tell me, I would love to know) so I will need to do more research on this! I've started to coupon as well, I love my cartwheel app, and the 5% i save from having a target debit card. I love target, about as much as I love Disney.
Besides figuring out ways to save, I'm also trying to find some fun things to do that we haven't done the 13+ times we've been there. And I'm surprised that there is a bunch! I'm so excited to plan that I've been printing out the stuff that I want to do and saving it to a binder! I want to make this a magical trip, and it would totally be awesome to have a few dismeets here and there!
Thanks for reading and any awesome advice regarding saving up, or fun things to do and eat please let me know!!!
