1 Doz. FREE tortillas on your B-day?!

Has anyone done the Mission Tortilla factory tour lately on your b-day?
I read somewhere that instead of the normal 1 free tortilla sample, you actually get a full DOZEN if it's your b-day--anyone know if that's still the case?! THANKS!

We got a dozen last year on my dd's birthday. Only worth it if they are making flour in my opinion.

It has indeed been a traditional birthday gift there...so if someone is celebrating a birthday, make sure to pick up a birthday button from City Hall, and make sure the CMs at the tortilla factory SEE that button!

It is usually the case. In January on DD's b-day, we went and they told her to come back in a hour, that they didn't have any packaged up. We never did make it back.

Yes, it is true! We go through every day during a birthday trip to get the tortillas. They are so good - all fresh and warm.

We have also been know to, when it's not a birthday, just go through the tour several times in a row to get more tortillas. Maseca!

what happens if your birthday is before your trip and after?
My daughters is April4 and sons is May 2 we will be in the parks April23 to 28th we leave the 29

It doesn't matter. Just be sure to have them wear Birthday buttons that you can get from City Hall in DL.

DH's b-day is on Monday, but we'll be in the parks for Mon., Tues, Weds. & Thurs.....
So we could go get the tortillas later in the week--we don't HAVE to go on Mon?
Is that right?
(as long as he is wearing his b-day button that he'll get on Monday!?)

Correct! To get the free birthday admission into the parks you MUST go on your birthday. But you can get a birthday button at City Hall ANY day. Just tell them you are celebrating a birthday.

Correct - he just has to be wearing his b-day button. Oh, and don't be afraid to ask. Sometimes they don't see the button if there is a crowd. They have always been great if we have had to ask, but usually, they just see the button and hand the bag to you.

With the normal, usual, little fun things they do for birthdays, all they care about is when you're celebrating it. If the whole trip is a celebration for his b'day, wear that button the whole trip!

The only time they care about the actual exact day and require proof is for this year's special promo.

We got a dozen when it was DBFs bday in Jan. We ate them for dinner that night because we weren't hungry at all until late. We had BB for lunch and didn't share so we were stuffed! lol

Just be prepared to receive less than a dozen. In previous years we have always received a dozen. But with the special birthday celebration this year, there are a lot more people wearing birthday buttons and receiving their free tortillas. When we went on 2/1 for my mom's birthday and 2/25 for DS, they both received packages of only 4 tortillas. I thought maybe DS would get a dozen since it was a Wednesday and not very crowded versus 2/1 which was a crowded Super Bowl Sunday. Since my kids love to eat them as a snack throught the day, we had to buy a dozen at the Mexican counter restaurant around the corner. It's not on the menu, but you can buy a package of a dozen.

We too had a few birthdays recently (in Feb.) We didn't receive 12. We got 6, 5, and 3. Seems they just grab a stack and package them. I figure since so many more people are going on the birthday, they are cutting back on amounts. I got a full 12 last June.
