$1 dollar steak from Dollar Tree. Have you had it, would you eat it?

$1.75 for 3.5 ounces? $ 6.63 a pound? Wow THAT is a bargain. Ribeye is about $12 a pound on sale here.

Divide $1.75 by 3.5. to get a price per ounce. That's 50 cents an ounce. Now we Then multiply by 16 to get the price per pound because there are 16 ounces in a pound. And we get $8 a pound. Not $6.63. They're actually $7.99 but I rounded to 8. That's on sale. $12 a pound!!! Where the heck do you shop out there in Sacramento? Bel Air? Corti Brothers?

For a GOOD ribeye 12.99 would be a great sale price at our butcher shop. We've been swayed by those 6.99 sales at Kroger and it's always a disappointment.

How much is ribeye at Costco now? I get that it has a lot to do with market prices, but some photos from 2014 showed it at about $8.99/lb.

No but my BIL served us bacon wrapped pork tenderloin (from Kwik Trip, a mini market attached to a gas station) which sell for $1.00 each and it was very good. Oddly very good. LOL. I'd buy that again.

Walmart for most stuff, Bel Air for meat and produce.

No and No..there are just some things at dollar stores that aren't meant to be eaten!

There wasn't even a grade on that package in the picture that I could find. I doubt from the videos I saw that it is even select grade. Seriously. If you have to pound a ribeye and put it in solution to tenderize it, how bad of a grade of ribeye must it be? Grind it up for Dog Food grade. Maybe Milk cow so old it won't give milk any more grade. Yeah for you USDA inspectors among us I know I made both of those up to be funny.

I'll have to shop around, never seen much of a different price on Rib Eye steak.
To be fair, normal price is about $13. It's just pretty much every week either T bone or ribeye, or strip goes on sale for between 7-9 a pound. But the drawback back here is briskets and tri tips we never see for $3-4 like you do.

Nope. I rather use that $1 to buy a tasty ice cream twix bar lol. I do buy their eggs for a science experiment I do with my students every year. Can't beat 8 eggs for a $1!
Sure you can. Last week I bought three dozen eggs for $1.98 on sale at "my" supermarket.

Now, can you buy them that cheaply when you need them, that's a different story.

Have you tried Winco?
Not for Ribeye. I did go into the one at Country Club Plaza right after it opened and price shopped. They were pretty close to Walmart on the items I buy, within 3 or 4 cents but Walmart still had them beat. The cereal aisle was what was interesting to me because they had placards with price comparisons to Walmart, and they were the same price or a nickel cheaper HOWEVER Walmart has a deal with General Mills to put more cereal into the same size box and eliminate the air at the top of the box, so Walmart was giving you several ounces more cereal for the same price.
