Hello,

We have not been able to visit Disneyland for years and are finally able to go for 1 day. Unfortunately we only have 2 date options that works for our entire family, Sunday December 21 or Tuesday January 6. I know that Sunday is the last weekend before Christmas which makes me nervous. We always have gone mid week in off season but that isn't an option this time. The other option is Tuesday January 6th. It sounds like that might be busy due to a marathon is that right? We wanted to see Christmas decorations.
Can some of you please help me, I would really appreciate your input!

Thanks so much! :)

we are going december 17th-21st park day the 20th around 1pm-3am thanks to EMH. saturday is the only day we can actually visit a park

depends I've never seen a marthon, crowds I've looked up seem to be the week of christmas slowly building up before and slowly winding down after so either way expect at least mild-heavy crowds, but not as bad as christmas day its receiving a level 10 out of 10 i know 20th got a 6-7 out of 10

Thank you for your input. I cannot figure out what site you are using that gives a number crowd level. Which one is it please?

I think your race dates are mixed up. The Walt Disney World marathon takes place around within a week or so of your January date in Orlando. The Star Wars 1/2 Marathon weekend is the weekend of January 15-18, 2015 and it's in Anaheim. So your early January date is free and clear of any races in Disneyland.

One factor to keep in mind is that if you've never been at Christmastime, you will experience much heavier crowds on the December date, but you'll also experience Disneyland decorated in its holiday finest which is magic exponentially multiplied. Keep in mind that it will be very crowded in December with the holiday offerings.

Tuesday January 6 would definitely have less crowds. You may lose some of the Disney holiday magic feeling as Christmas will have passed. But crowds will be much more manageable.
