I have a very timid dd9 (no BTMR, Splash/space mountains, etc.) I'd like to do a day at Universal or IOA. What would be best? Could you do both in one day? We'll be there the first week in Dec.
Thanks!

For a timid 9 year old, try these rides at Islands: all of Seuss Landing (but perhaps not Cat in the Hat due to its spinning), Jurassic Park Discovery Center, Camp Jurassic, Me Ship the Olive Play area, Sinbad show, and the character meet and greets.

At the Studios, try these: all the shows (except T2, Horror Makeup Show, and Fear Factor Live), Men in Black, E.T. Adventure, Barney show, Fifel's Playland, Curious George Goes to Town, and the Nuthouse Coaster.

Also click on the following links for some great articles on Universal for kids.

I don't think you'd have any problems doing both parks in a day especially during early December. I'm assuming that your daughter doesn't really like the thrill rides? If so, there is just enough in both parks to fill the day and I'm sure she'll love it.

Thanks for the replies. My dd's not a thrill seeker. She's a buzz lightyear, peterpan's flight type of kid. She use to like PoC (has been riding it since 3), but is now scared of the drop in the beginning :confused3

I would suggest spending most of your time at Universal. DS and I are not thrill seekers and the only thing we really like doing at IOA is Dr. Suess Landing
