1 day car rental. Should I reserve for a trip in February?

Dad is wanting to take a side trip to Kennedy Space Center while we are in Florida. We would need to rent a car for the day. Do we need to reserve one now or would it be easy to get one last minute while we're there?

Also, do they still have the car rental place at Swan/Dolphin? I remember reading that there used to be a place there, but haven't heard for a while. If not, would they deliver a car to the BCV for us?

I would book the car rental in advance. "Walk-up" rates are usually among the highest you're likely to see at the rental agencies.

Alamo/National are still at the Dolphin. Hours are 8 am - 4 pm every day. The Car Care Center hours are 6 am - 6 pm weekends and 6 am - 8 pm weekdays, but the location is less convenient.

We thought about renting a car for one day in March. When I checked rates for one day it was terrible but when I tried 2 days the rate was lots less.

What happens if you reserve the car for 2 days (because of the better rate) but return it early? Can they charge you more?:

Generally yes, if you return the car early, you will be charged higher rates that may apply to the shorter rental.
