1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

Snoopin’ around: I know that it’s gotta be here somewhere. Somebody on the Dis said so!

Not long before we left for vacation, someone on the CBR thread had posted a link to what was supposed to be pictures of what the rooms at the resort were going to look like once a refurb was done to the resort. They had been told that the room was in the village of Jamaica and I wanted to do a little snoopin’ around to see if I could find the actual room. :hyper:

First, we were going to walk Mama back to her room and Lacey, Jesse and Hunter were going to either rent some sort of watercraft or surrey bike at the marina or go to the arcade. We left them at Old Port Royale and I took pictures of our surroundings along the way to our room in Martinique.

Price sign at the marina:

The landscaping at the resort is so pretty:

Almost to our building. From the looks of the pavement, it must have rained while we were springing the surprise and eating lunch.

Mama was going to sit the walk around the resort out so she took the pathway to our rooms and John and I continued to walk the promenade around the resort.

Barbados and the quiet pool there:

There is a wooden walkway that goes through Barbados, through a wooded area and then on to the other side of the lake. More Barbados:

I’m not sure what John was looking at but it wouldn’t surprise me if it were a squirrel or bunny since they are all around the resort. :squirrel:

Last picture of Barbados:

The next village that we came to on our walk was Aruba:

The Aruba quiet pool complete with lift:

There are bathrooms near each of the quiet pools and, never one to pass by a fact finding picture taking opportunity (or potty break), I popped in:

I also entered the laundry facilities (located near each quiet pool):

The outside of the laundry room:

We took the pathway from the main pool to the nearest building and I looked back to take pictures of the pool area:

And we took this pathway to the main promenade:

One of the ducks hanging out by the benches on the promenade:

Looking ahead to our left:

As we neared the last building in Aruba, we could see that there was some repair/cleaning going on. John said that it just looked they were powerwashing the rooftops.

As we approached Jamaica, I was getting excited ‘cause I was going to get my detective hat on and see if I could find the refurbed room that everybody had been achatter over. :tiptoe: However, I also knew that I didn’t walk us to look like a couple of pervs looking into rooms. So, we played it cool and went for a leisurely stroll:

Again, the landscaping and flowers are so very pretty:

We had gone through approximately half of the Jamaica buildings and hadn’t seen hide nor hair (Southern sayin’) of the possible mock-up room. We did, however, see the Jamaica quiet pool.

There was more construction equipment stored between two of the Jamaica buildings:

Looking across the lake at Trinidad North:

Unfortunately my super sleuth skills were sorely lacking and there was no sighting of any refurb room. At the time, I thought that it was possibly just a rumor that there was even such a room. Since returning, though, I have spoken to someone at the resort itself and have confirmed that they are indeed getting a room make-over and the beds are being changed to queens. So, it’s possible that there really was a mock-up room somewhere.

Our tour of the resort continued on and we crossed the road to the village o Trinidad South.

And, my camera batteries died. We walked through the village and John took a call from his brother. He was taking care of our dog, Oddball, while we were away and he was just checking in on us to see if we were having a good time. They talked while we walked and we were soon back at our room. It was almost time to get ready for our night on the town...Downtown Disney that is.

**Up next: Acrobats, Bikers and Dinosaurs! Oh my!

Can't wait to see if your snooping skills paid off!!! :cool1:

Ok, you posted way too fast there....bummer on not finding "THE ROOM"!!! But that was a cute duck! Yep, we love ducks!

I wanted to find that room so badly but, alas, it never happened. Oh yeah, I remember your love for ducks. ;)

Follow up to my previous post.....boss just came in all smiley and chuckling and said "You're spunky! I like that!"

Maybe spunky will get you a good bonus?? :confused3 :thumbsup2

Your photos of the resort are great!! I would love for CBR to have queen beds! We really like the resort but DH and I can not share a bed while there because they are TOOOOOO small!

First off, let me say that I am thankful that I even get a Christmas bonus. But, why do they always wait so long to give it to you. I always thought that a bonus was to help you buy the Christmas presents? Again, I'm thankful, though, that I get a bonus at all.

The CBR will be getting queen beds when they do the refurb in April, 2014. I'm excited to see what the new rooms will look like!

Sorry I've been MIA lately - so busy! Glad to hear John's lump was not a huge problem. Hope it continues that way!

As a lawyer, I can honestly agree with your assessment. We don't like to be told we're wrong. Which is ironic, because at least in litigation, someone is wrong! But we've been taught how to think in law school and it is hard to turn that "lawyer hat" off! Luckily, I don't have to do that stuff for my job! I get to help decide who's right and who's wrong. Usually, it's a little of each for everyone!

Fun pictures all a round for you guys. I'm glad the luau CM made things right for you. The fire dancer is a hottie!~

I couldn't help but laugh at the detective in you. I know your pictures of the flowers are normal. (I love seeing them.) But I pictured you hiding behind them snooping around. I blame my active imagination to a long day, and pain meds, (although I haven't had any for 24 hours.)
I really do love your pictures! I am also happy to hear the rooms are getting redone with queens beds. I can't wait to stay at cbr one day!

I hope John is doing OK with his neck and everything else.

I can't believe that photo pass photographer was so mean to you. I'm glad to hear that the cm's made up for it though.

What a nice surprise you gave the kids!

Did Lacey and Jesse make it to your house safely this weekend? I know your excited to see them:goodvibes

I'm still catching up in a backwards sort of way. Just read your Snooping Around post.

I love your strolls through CBR. It is such a beautiful resort. The flowers and landscaping are gorgeous! I also think your detailed photos are so helpful- like the rental sign and the laundry area. Wow, that's a lot of washers/dryers. I'm impressed! There are a couple of laundry rooms at the Yacht & Beach club, but there are only a few machines in each one and usually one or more are broken.

The only thing about your bathroom tour- when you wrote "I popped in" I misread your words. :scared1:

So sorry you didn't find the refurbed room! I bet if you had run into a Mousekeeper, you would have asked.

Ahhh reading your latest update gives me that excited Disney feel on this rainy Monday... Man, I hope I land a job soon so I can go meet my sister in May...... LOL....

What a rude CM. You know I noticed on our trip in October, the CM's are not very magical like they used to be.. Like they don't want to be there. Maybe it's just me. I don't know. All I know is, I wish I could work at Disney. LOL

Cool surprises!! I would love to see that show.

Holy updates! I loved them all. Your CBR pictures make me want to be there right now. And that's exciting about the refurb, though our girls usually want the pirate rooms, so we won't get to see the new ones.

How exciting you got to see Cirque again. Can't wait to hear about it.

And Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Merry Christmas, Lisa and family. I know you are having a wonderful time with all your family, and I hope it exceeds all your expectations! Hope the new year brings only good things, and lots of Disney magic.

Merry Christmas!!!!

I am loving your walk around the resort. I have seen pictures of that room, so I know it exists, but no clue where it is. I sure hope they do the refurb soon as the queen beds will be a big plus for this resort.

Lisa, I got far behind because of the work since I got back and getting ready for the holidays. I have been reading along, just haven't had time to post.

I am loving your updates...as always. I'll do better as soon as Christmas is over (I may even get an update done on my TR which I have totally ignored for over a week).

In the meantime, I wish you and your family a very
