1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

Wow - that sounds crazy crowded. You are brave to go all the way home and then back again. Knowing me, I wouldn't go back. But I'm glad you did and I can't wait to see what fun you got into.

It is pretty eery standing outside at the bus stop that late at night when no one is around. Hope you got back into the park without any trouble.

My Mama made me promise to call her and let her know that I made it back to the park okay. A mother's worries never cease....especially my Mama's.

It was a bit eerie feeling standing there all by myself but I wasn't really afraid.

That would be awesome if Hunter and the school could go. Keeping all my fingers and toes crossed.

He is over the moon at the thought of the orchestra going. I've seen pictures of their previous trips and they look like they have a great time. Who couldn't or wouldn't? Keep it all crossed!

I almost forgot to share some Hunter news. Guess where he and the school orchestra may possibly be going for Spring Break? Guess! Hurry up and guess! I can't hold it in any longer! WALT DISNEY WORLD!

They used to go every year but, last year, they didn't go and Hunter was bummed. He has continually begged and pleaded with the teacher to let them go in 2014. Looks like all those sad puppy dog faces worked 'cause the director told him that there's a parent meeting Monday on the specifics.

Ya'll keep your fingers crossed that the cost will be reasonable and that enough students sign up so that the trip can happen.

Hunter laughed and said that everyone in the class turned to him and had a "You're my new best friend!" look on their face when the director made the announcement. They are going to use Hunter as a tour guide. :lmao:
Wow that would be great. I have 2 nephews and a niece who were in marching bands and got to march down main St when they ere in high school. They all stayed off property though. But they still had a blast. So does that mean that boy will go twice in 2014?

Sorry your dinner at The Wave wasn't too Magical. Glad that John did start feeling better.

Those crowds look crazy at the MK! I have seen it like that a few years ago on NYE, we watched the fireworks at Midnight and then waited around, did some shopping trying to let the crowds disperse and it still took a couple hours to get out of the park and to the bus.

Can't wait to see what mischief the boys got themselves into...

I'm glad John started feeling better. I'm the same way when I'm sick, or hurt, I don't want anyone to even talk to me.

I want to try the Wave, but I don't think my guys would find anything on the menu. The steaks look really good though.

When we were there on the 4th of July a few years ago, they routed us behind Carousel of Progress and we came out beside Tony's. It was really weird seeing all the stuff behind the walls.

Awesome news about Hunter's orchestra, I hope they do get to take the trip!! Does that mean you get to go twice?

I can't wait to hear what comes next!! :surfweb:

YAY!!!! I hope he gets to go!!!!! OMG! That would be so much fun! I did Magical Music Days in HS and it was a BLAST!!!! I should try and dig out my old pictures and scan them in.

So, now, would you just HAVE to go and help Chaperone on this little trip?? I mean, I know it would be a burden… but somehow I think you could suffer through… :rotfl:

LOL about John and the Cherry! That's hilarious.

You are brave for going back to the huge crowds. I would have stayed in the room once I got back there. I bet it was weird waiting out by the bus stop. When we go next year, I'll have to go outside at CBR late one night and just listen!

And yay for Hunter's orchestra trip! He'll get to go to Disney twice in such a short amount of time. Hope it works out. Are you going to chaperone?

Thats too bad about John at dinner. I know it happens and I am sure he was getting annoyed with all the extra "care" from Moma.

How exciting to be able to go to the park all night long. I can just imagine the crowds though.
I had that creepy feeling at AKL last Nov. We got back around midnight or so after the Halloween party and the smoking section our front is in this smalled bushed in area. We stopped off there and it felt like we were a million miles from civilization.

Hunter sure is getting an awesome 16th birthday! I am sure my DH would have liked to be there too (it's his b-day as well).

Sorry dinner at the Wave had to include some of John's tics and struggle. I have not heard too many rave reviews of that restaurant. I'm not super eager to go there.

Good for you on taking Mama back and going back to the park! I probably would have crashed. I am anxious to see how (or if) the crowds thinned after midnight.

I was way, way behind but I'm happy to say I am all caught up now!

:cool1:

That's cool that Hunter tested the Pirates Adventure. I saw some of the props from it on our trip. The cannon shooting off behind you is hilarious!

Big Thunder Mountain Rocks!!! I love the new interactive queue. We usually ride with FP, but we did go thru the regular line once. There are really some fun, clever things to do.

Your pictures with the Great Goofini and especially "The Duck Commander" are fantastic. It is amazing how much the characters can "say" without talking.

It sounds like your dinner at the Wave was uncomfortable. It is hard to really enjoy yourself when you are trying to prevent a possible trainwreck. I'm glad everything worked out and John felt well enough to continue on.

Sorry about the fear you experienced at the Contemporary. At least you know now!!!

Hooray on Hunter's Birthday Fireworks Show!!!

It was certainly the right decision to go back with Mama. That is cool about getting to go back stage (and taking some rebel pictures). A couple of CM friends of mine went to the MK dessert party on the 4th of July and were directed to exit backstage, where a dance party was going on. They were both appalled! "What would Walt think?"

I can just imagine how creepy that was being alone at the bus stop. I have been all by myself at my Disney resort, but in the early morning hours, not at night.

Finally... That is so exciting about the possible trip by Hunter's orchestra!!! Trips with a group of teens are definitely interested. Been there! Done that! Shed some tears! Ready to do it again in 2015!!!

Nice. Blame her for it. LOL. Poop Mamaw.
Glad the rain held out. Why not take the monorail?
My cousin has epilepsy. She is 16 and pregnant. OY!
The portions looked much smaller than when we were there. Sorry it is was a stressful dinner but glad you’re all going to the parks.
LOL. John and the cherry. I wish I saw that.
I love those quiet times at Disney.
I hope they get to go to WDW. He would make a good guide.
All caught up again.

Thank goodness, the magic pills kicked in and we avoided a disaster of an evening.

Oh there was no way that I was missing out on the 24 hour bash at the Magic Kingdom! I was going back no matter what!

I was way, way behind but I'm happy to say I am all caught up now!

You were the first person that I thought of when Hunter said they were going to WDW for Spring Break! I started thinking back to your report for the trip and my wheels started spinning in case I was asked to chaperone. Even if I were asked, I don't think that I would go. I think that Hunter would be A Okay with me going but I'll probably pass.

Nice. Blame her for it. LOL. Poop Mamaw.

All caught up again.

Yeah, Mamaw picked the restaurant so it's her fault that we had to walk so far.

Oh my! I can only imagine the challenges your cousin is going to face. Epilepsy and pregnancy. YIKES!

I thought that The Wave food was good but our portions were small.

John just plucked that cherry right off the top of the sundae. It was so funny!

Hunter is super de duper excited about the trip! It better happen or I'll have a disappointed kid on my hands.

Wow that would be great. I have 2 nephews and a niece who were in marching bands and got to march down main St when they ere in high school. They all stayed off property though. But they still had a blast. So does that mean that boy will go twice in 2014?

How cool! We'll find out more details this evening at the parent meeting. Hunter is going to go too so that he can hear all about it. Plus, I want him to know how much money this is going to cost us so he will be appreciative of the things he gets to do.

Yes, he will go to WDW twice in 2014!

Sorry your dinner at The Wave wasn't too Magical. Glad that John did start feeling better.

The crowds were ridiculous! It was wall to wall to wall to wall people. :faint:

I'm glad John started feeling better. I'm the same way when I'm sick, or hurt, I don't want anyone to even talk to me.

I want to try the Wave, but I don't think my guys would find anything on the menu. The steaks look really good though.

I bet that ya'll would find something on The Wave menu for everybody. I would go there again.

I didn't know that there was a back route behind the Carousel of Progress? Of course, I didn't know there was one behind The Plaza either. ;)

I probably won't be a chaperone for the trip. I'll let Hunter have some free parent time with the orchestra and his friends.

I wouldn't mind being a chaperone but I'm thinking that I'll skip it. Hunter knows his way around WDW so well that I won't worry about him at all.

It was weird feeling standing at the bus stop all by myself. Not scary weird, just weird.

Definitely go outside and listen to the evening sounds at the CBR especially if it has just rained. The frogs go crazy at night.

We get more info about the WDW Spring Break trip this evening. Unless they really need me to chaperone, I'll be staying home and letting Hunter go parent free.

Thats too bad about John at dinner. I know it happens and I am sure he was getting annoyed with all the extra "care" from Moma.

My Mama just can not help herself and feels like she needs to hover when anyone feels bad.

Standing alone at the bus stop felt odd. I wasn't scared but it was so quiet and I'm used to hustle and bustle.

I was so very far behind!! This will be a birthday Hunter will always remember!

I loved Donald Duck's reaction to the Duck commander shirts! I sat at the CBR bus stop late one night all alone and it was creepy. Not scary since I feel safe but still creepy...I watch too many movies though!! :scared:

The Wave looks like a place I am not too sure we would enjoy. It just seems to not have something but not sure what.

No worries, I always seem to be behind lately.

Donald Duck played around with us for a while and it was fun.

Like you, I wasn't scared standing there by myself but it did feel a little creepy.

The Wave was good and I'd go back but not until we try some other restaurants first.

Morning all! I hope that ya'll have enjoyed the work week so far. Time seems to be dragging by this week and I'm more than ready for a weekend.

We had the parent-teacher conference Monday about the WDW trip. John and I both attended and it wasn't until we walked into the meeting that we realized that John on a Walt Disney World shirt.

The cost of the trip is $760 per student and per chaperone. The $760 covers transportation, a hot breakfast each morning, two quick service meals vouchers per day, three park tickets, the performance fees and the hotel accommodations for three nights. I could see a bit of sticker shock on some of the parent's faces and I wanted to get them all in front of a computer so I could show them what a "real" onsite trip to Disney would cost. Still, I understand where they are coming from. Our area is not what you would exactly call a boom town and there are a lot of people who struggle to make ends meet, much less have the money to send our kids to WDW.

Since they are also performing (and getting scored), they must have at least 25 students go or they can't possibly put out a quality performance and the orchestra conductor doesn't want a poor score for them. I can't say that I blame him because our school has a great performance record.

I think that I have mentioned before that our school has almost 2,000 students and it is a big old pain in the rear end to have any fundraiser on school property. You have to submit paperwork, tell them what you are raising money for, how much you expect to raise, etc. You have to report back to them after the fundraiser is done and, if you don't raise what you thought you would, you have to explain why you didn't. Like I said, a pain in the backside. Therefore, we have to do any fundraising offsite or individually.

I guess the search for corporate or individual sponsors is officially on!

Speaking of "officially on", I am officially on the time clock so I need to get to work and get some things off my desk. I should be back sometime this afternoon with an installment. If not, I promise to get it posted in the a.m.

$760 sounds like a bargain to me. Sorry if I missed it but where are they staying. Even if it's a Value Resort on property that is a decent price.

It's offsite accommodations but it's supposed to be close to WDW property. They are going through a company that specializes in high school and college tournaments and festivals. It was so hard for me to sit there and not yell STAY ON SITE AND LET ME DO ALL OF THE PLANNING! :rotfl:
