1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

I remember your trip to Ft. Wilderness. Didn't you do the horseback riding there?

Yes I did, in 2012. My sister's and I also ate there at Trails End in 2008.

I love your selfies on Little Mermaid :rotfl2:

Your Mama has done so well on your trip, it's great how the 3 generations tour so well together :)

Yay for finding your flipper, I said to my DD just today that this trip as soon as we see something we like we're to buy it as every trip there's always something we want and we say we'll get it later then it's always gone!!

It's going to be a little sad going without Mama this next trip.

I had searched "the world" over for the flipper and, wouldn't you know it, we found it the last day.

We have stayed at the WL and the Poly but not the CR. Nice to see pictures of the area again. We are going with a mod this time. Prices are just to high anymore.

I would love to stay deluxe (and could afford it) but I can't make myself pay those extra $.

Hi! Feeling a bit melancholy today and decided to come visit the DIS for a fix. No trips in our future, so I have to live vicariously here.

Did you go to the stables at Fort Wilderness? We enjoyed a nice walk around there last year.

My dd's in-laws are going to take their family next February. I soooo want to help plan but I am being a good girl and biting my tongue. My dd would love Wilderness Lodge. She misses the woods now that she is living in KY (she lived in the middle of state forest from 1989 to 2013). I should send her my backsacks!

I can't wait to start to follow your next trip report, sorry that this one is winding down.

Hey! Long time no talk! We didn't go over to the stables but I wish that we had.

It's so hard not to step in and help others plan. We know so much about Disney and just want to share our experiences with them.

The WL is really a pretty resort. It's good that you got the chance to get out of the park for a little while.

Mickey's Philharmagic is one of our faves too.

It was quite nice to step away from the crowds and have a little time to ourselves.

Are your tree pictures Discovery island? I never got to go over there, but I know they still have the "ruins" there. I have read some things about people sneaking over there at times and seen some pictures. It looks creepy now.

Yep, those trees were Discovery Island. I've seen and heard about the sneaking around folks too.

It looks like a great last day so far (if there is such a thing). You did 2 unexpected things and the day isn't over yet. I would love to stay a WL at Christmastime.

Yeah, even though it was the last day, it was a good one. Oh wouldn't it be fantastic to see the WL all done up for Christmas!?!

Yes I did, in 2012. My sister's and I also ate there at Trails End in 2008.

I thought that I was remembering correctly. I had a breakfast ADR booked at Trail's End for our upcoming trip but cancelled it for Kona.

It’s hotter than blue blazes out here! Is my face red?

When we got back to the park, we called the rest of the family to find out where they were. They were in Tomorrowland about to get in line for Buzz Lightyear. We told them to hang on, we were on our way and we’d hitch a ride with them. John and I took a right at The Plaza, cut through Tomorrowland Noodle Station and were soon waiting in line to fight the evil Emperor Zurg! Looks like Hunter and I were taken prisoner as well.

Several years ago, we all had our silhouettes done on Main Street and I really really wanted to get Jesse’s done to add to our collection. We found a station in Liberty Square and, instead of making Jesse, pose by himself, we wanted Lacey in the silhouette too. When you have the silhouettes done, they cut out two at a time so it’s a two for the price of one! Bonus! :thumbsup2

We had to wait for the artist to complete one other person’s silhouette and then it would be Lacey and Jesse’s turn. I had to find a restroom so I handed off the camera to Hunter while I went to the new Rapunzel bathrooms in the New Fantasyland (in hindsight, I should have just gone to the ones in between Adventureland and Frontierland as they are not as busy). When I got back, the artist was almost done with the silhouettes.

Everybody said that the artist (I am not sure what they are really supposed to be called but I’m betting it ain’t silhouetter or silhouette cutter-outer so I’ll stick with artist.:p), didn’t have much of a personality and hardly spoke to them at all. This was a much different experience than we had from the lady artist on Main Street a few years back.

Lacey had been wearing her hair in a bun but took it down for the silhouette:

From the looks of the pictures, Hunter didn’t feel the need to take a picture of Jesse while sitting for the silhouette.

Even if the artist didn’t have the best personality, he did do an excellent job:

You can see in the picture above that there are two silhouettes. I kept one and had it framed and Lacey and Jesse took one and had it framed. I think that the total cost was about $30. Not bad for a unique souvenir.

Silhouettes paid for and tucked away in my handy dandy backsack, we walked towards Adventureland. But, not before we got a shot or two of Cinderella’s Castle:

On our way to Adventureland:

It was hotter than blue blazes out by this time of the day! We were all in need of some air conditioning and the closest place to find it was...........

No guesses? How about another clue:

Yep, we were headed to the Tiki Room where we’d be able to sit down in the air conditioning and sit beneath lots of birdies who were guaranteed not to poop on us. :crazy2: But, we’d have to wait a few minutes before show time. Ya’ll I’m serious, it was hot as hecka decka! When I get hot, I get red faced. Is my face red? You better believe it!

Oh I forgot to mention before that Lacey made Jesse’s shirt. It has a line of forks and the word Dinglehopper on it. She made it to go with her Ariel shirt that she ordered from Hot Topic.

Soon, the doors to the theater opened and we filed in with the rest of the folks in desperate need of cool air. On with the show!

**continued in next post

While the Tiki Birds aren’t our favorite, we always make a point to see them each trip. It may or may not have something to do with the fact that nice cool air is pumped into the theater and we travel during the Summer months.;)

We popped into one of the shops where John tried on a necklace:

Jesse put on a hat:

and Hunter sported Mickey ears:

I’m fairly sure that we were able to see and do more things but my pictures aren’t giving me any guidance. The next set of pictures are of us waiting for our dinner ADR. So, we’ll just pretend that we did other things and sweated some more. In the midst of it all, Mama called and said that she thought that she wasn’t coming back to the park for the evening. She was simply “give out”. She would pick up something from the resort food court and would be fine. She encouraged us to stay as long as we wanted and not to worry about her.

**Up next: I don’t have time to eat! I’m taking selfies with the characters!

I love Jesse's shirt! I never would have guessed that Lacey had it made, it seems like something Disney would want to sell themselves. :goodvibes Their silhouettes looked great too.

Enchanted Tiki Room is great for the A/C. The show is cute too, but the A/C is great! :rotfl:

I've been following along with your report from the beginning (and have read a few of your others), you are so funny. I love the silhouettes. I took my kids to WDW for the first time last May (right before your trip) and meant to get them done there but forgot. We are going to Disneyland in 2 weeks (we go there once or twice a year) and I need to remember to get them done!

I haven't had much time to DIS in the past week, but I'm happy to say I just got caught up on your report.

:cool1:

I enjoyed seeing pictures from both It's a Small World and the Tiki Birds since we haven't been to either of these attractions in FOREVER!

I also loved the Wilderness Lodge pictures since we have never been there. Mark and I would love to tour the resort some day. It looks GORGEOUS! Your lobby pictures are nice and clear, too. Often the pictures taken in the lobby are blurry.

Wow! I love the silhouttes! Beautiful!

That one picture does look like Discovery Island, or what I would imagine Discovery Island to look like (if that makes sense).

Yay for the coveted pancake flipper. How great that you found it in a very unlikely place.

What a fun afternoon to tour both WL and FW.

I still have to read your most recent update.

Oh those silhouettes are so nice, I've often debated having them done. It is a great souvenir.
Hehehe the tiki birds are cute, I like to do that for nostalgia, but the air conditioning helps too!

I love the silhouettes, they are awesome ! If I were your mom I would be worn out too :thumbsup2

I thought that she did a great job on the t-shirts. They looked really good.

Yeah, the air conditioning almost beats out the tiki birds themselves.:rotfl:

Great Report! Awesome tips, I'm making Notes, lol. Glad I decided to start reading trip reports. :thumbsup2

Thank you! I remember when I first started writing my trip reports and thinking, "does anybody ever really care?" but I read reports too so I guess they do. :lmao:

Glad to see you! Welcome! I love the silhouettes and have them displayed on my hutch. Hopefully, they will have a silhouette cutter-outer  in Disneyland.

Dee, I didn't have much Dis time last week either. It took me almost a week to post an update.

If you ever get the chance, make a trip over to the WL and take a look around. The store has some unique items and you could always plan a lunch there so you can get a feel for the resort itself.

I believe that the pictures of "trees" are actually of Discovery Island. It look so abandoned and sad.

I was so happy to find that darn flipper!

Now I want a pancake flipper. :confused3

Gotta get you one! I smile every time I use it.

I love the silhouettes, they are awesome ! If I were your mom I would be worn out too :thumbsup2

Poor Mama was worn out! She had been going going going and needed a good rest.

I love love love the picture of you and Hunter in Zurg's jail! So cute! I also love Hunter's selfie.

I was going to ask if Lacey made Jesse's shirt, and then in the next line I found out she did. Awesome! I think my DH would like that. Maybe I'll have to get creative for our trip and make him one.

The silhouettes are so cool! I can't believe those artists can just do that so easily. They sound pretty cheap, too. I'll have to think about that for my girls.

We love the Tiki Tiki room. We have that song on a CD and listen to it all the time (the opening song). When we went last time, so many people got up and left. It's a cheesy show, but it's so Disney. And not that long. I couldn't believe how many people didn't stay.

The silhouettes are so nice. A great price for 2 as well!!!
I get a red face too when I get hot.

I thought that she did a great job on the shirts. I don't know that I could get John to wear something like that but I might try. ;)

The silhouettes are a great souvenir and something that you can look back on and see how the kids have changed.

Uh yeah, it's cheesy! What's up with them leaving?

I get a red face too when I get hot.

I bet Claire would like to have her silhouette done!

I know I haven't been posting a lot, but I have been keeping up from my cell (which is why no posting-not so easy to post from there).

Great updates! And it does most definitely get a little warm ;) there sometimes!

Tiki birds are a great escape from the heat. And it's a CLASSIC!

Jesse's shirt is quite cute! Great job, Lacey!
