1 Child and 10 Adults--A GG to Celebrate DD's 4th Bday :) TR Link is Posted

For my DD we'd definitely go with the raspberry. She's 10 and she still loves some pink. On the other hand, if it was for DS5 we'd have to go with Cardinal because he's a little crazy about the color red! Not that any of this is relevant to your question. I'd go with the raspberry.

Okay...I have to admit I've not read ALL of this...I'm too far behind so I did do skimming.

First, your family is beautiful and your daughter is precious (by the way, I like the raspberrry for Lilian's album). I read that Lilian loves Tigger and Pooh. Be sure when you are at Epcot to go into the toy store in the United Kingdom (near the back of the store) and Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore are there for photos and signing autographs. Also, have you made a reservation for a meal with Pooh, etc.? If not, you might want to consider it.

Okay...going back to read some more.

Oh, Kathy--I would never expect you to read it all!! There are links on the first post should you like to explore a topic further. :goodvibes

Thank you--I am biased but I think DD is a cutie! :cutie: She actually is more of a fan of Darby than Tigger and Pooh I would say at this point. Don't get me wrong, she likes the other characters but Darby is her favorite. We decided not to eat at CP but instead Akershus since the Princesses are her favorite right now.

Thanks for trying to catch up!! :goodvibes

I did. They had my clients set up for ME but didn't have their flight information and I know I gave it to them. So the documents say 'no flight information provided' :sad2: And these clients ask a million and one questions so it'll be fun explaining that to them!

MNSSHP is totally worth it! I know you'll love it! Glad you're getting all the $$ before you order them. That's a big order!! :scared1:

Oh good!! I am glad you got the clients information straightened for them. Sure is a luxury to have TA there to help out with these sorts of things!! :goodvibes

It is a huge order of MNSSHP!! That is why I have to have the money so I can have it clear my bank account to pay off my credit card. :scared1:

I like the raspberry color. I like the idea of putting pictures in with the autographs. It'll be great if you can get a few of her and the characters as she's getting their autograph. I wonder where my old autograph book is. I know I had one when my parents took me to Disney for the first time. I wish I had kept better track of these things!

Thanks--I am leaning towards the raspberry color too. I was just stumbling on whether I should stick to more "Disney" primary colors since it is going to be her Disney album. :goodvibes

Both albums are cute- I guess it comes down to which one Lilian would like more. I know my dd would like the rasberry but some of her friends don't like anything pink so it's really about personal preference. :)

We're doing the brag book for our autograph cards. I attached a butterfly clip to it to hold the picture with and it is sturdy enough on it's own (it comes with cardboard backing in the front and back covers) that I don't need a clipboard. It was extremely easy and I like that the pages are protected. :thumbsup2:

I saw your autograph books on your PTR--they are great! I may end up using the clip--thanks for the suggestion.

The color: I think I am going to end up with raspberry one. I was afraid it would not look "Disney" enough--silly I know!

Thanks Jenny! I think DD will like pink at age 10 too. It was more should I stick with traditional Disney color? I am leaning towards the raspberry color--thanks for the feedback!! I appreciate it. :goodvibes

I’ve been MIA back now to catch up :thumbsup2 Well done to Lillian on the car trip, sounding like you got some valuable tips on your trip. I am really impressed with Lillian’s skirt great job. Your new camera has taken great photos. I know I am late with my post but thought you would like hear what we pack and what we use :confused3 We generally have a back pack with sides stuffed full as well. Things we take are: Thermaflask, camera, camera battery, plasters, snacks, sunscreen, wipes, PJs for DD1, anadin extra, iphone, park maps, touring plans, sunglasses, ponchos, lanyards, inhalers (DS & DH), fans, towels, autograph books, pens, swimwear for kids, nintendo ds to keep kids happy in eating places. We will have two bags this year as DD2 will only have turned one so that will be full of snacks & drinks for her, nappies, wipes, change of clothes, PJs, sunscreen, small toys, dummies. In our wallets we keep park tickets, money, phonecards, ID. Well done of getting FD and securing CSR  This looks like a really lovely resort and the pics that have been posted look really good. Oh we like the raspberry, well DD2 picked that out :cool1: She has just turned 4 and is a real girlie girlie

I love all things pink, so I pick the raspberry!!!! I've known a lot of people who use a photo album as an autograph book. It's cute to have a picture of your child with a character and then have the autograph right next to it.

Which color album should I use for Lilian’s photographs and autographs?

Raspberry.jpg
Raspberry
Cardinal.jpg
Cardinal

Here is what I am thinking I am going to do:

The Album:
I know I want to put pictures (either photopass or the ones we take) with the autographs when we get home. I am eyeing the above albums because of this. I think I will take cards for the characters to sign, scan them in when I get home (so I can print them out to the size I need and to preserve them). The cards will be the autograph book essentially with the above being the final resting place for them. Lilian loves looking through my scrapbooks so I figure this would be hers—it would “live” in her room so she can look through whenever she wants--which is why I want an album with page protectors.

The Cards: I still not a 100% sure exactly what I am going to do with these. Two options pop into my head: 1) using a photo brag book that I would create a cover for; I would have blank cards inside. We would pull out a new one for each character to sign and put it back in the photo album for protection and 2) the cards would be held together by three jump rings. It would have a front cover decorated and a back cover for stability.
With the first option, I would have to get a mini clipboard to take so they could have a stable surface to sign on and both options would go down into a ziplock bag to keep them protected from inclement weather.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Which album color do you like best?

I think you picked the raspberry color already and I like that too...more sweet girly :thumbsup2

for the book itself and cards...

We have done the in park bought autograph books for all our past trips w/ the kids and I have saved a page next to each autograph to print the picture after we get home...so just about every character knows this drill...if you have a think ribbon or rubber band to side over each page on the picture side that helps too...

This year I plan to make a few custom autograph books as a new keepsake, to add to the getting autograph magic :goodvibes

if you plan to just have them sign cards and then assemble a book at home here is a suggestion.

If you purchase some nice thick 8 x 11 white card stock you can trim down to a size that would fit in each page of the pictured album but keep the length slightly longer. punch the holes in and re-enforce w/ hole re-enforce stickers (do you kwim?) then attach the jump rings probably two would do the job...this way it becomes like a flip book and sturdy enough to write on, you could even re-enforce the whole thing w/ a chipboard front and back. then when you get home you can trim off the one side w/ the holes and slip into each page.

hope that helps...

Hello!! Thank you for posting what you pack and what bag! It is never too late to join in the fun. :goodvibes We are excited about trying CSR for the first time and FD!! :thumbsup2

Lilian is a trooper when it comes to car trips, we are very blessed because of it. It is great to have the trip has a "practice" trip. :goodvibes

Tell your DD thanks for the vote! I think I am leaning towards the Raspberry because DD will like it best. I was a little concerned in thinking whether or not I should do something more "Disney."

Thanks Meghan! I think I have settled on the Raspberry scrapbook album to scrap the pictures and autographs when I get home.

I know what you mean--that is what I would do if I do option 2, which is the way I am leaning towards. I think it would be easier to do the cards bounded with the jump rings as oppose to a "loose" sheet of cardstock. With the covered chipboard covers, it should be cute and functional! :thumbsup2

Thanks for helping!!

It was promotional offer that came out a while back--when they stopped the preorder offer. I am not sure if they are still doing it but I hope it works out for you and Katie to get it!! :goodvibes

Thanks!! Angela is the best, I agree!! :thumbsup2

I e-mailed Angela and she e-mailed the Photopass people. Apparantly no more codes are being given since the new $99.95 special is available. I'm glad you were able to get it before it was too late!! :goodvibes

BTW--since the album is for Lilian than I'd go with Raspberry--such a pretty color!!

Hey Stephanie! :goodvibes I like the Raspberry book! For the park, I would put cards/paper in the book with the rings so they are easily accessible. Some of the character meet & greets happen right in a row where you are shuffled through the line and you will take too much time taking out seperate sheets then clipping them on a board just to put them back into a book again. Having all of the cards in one book where you can just turn the page for the next character would probably work best. (Example: at Epcot, you get in line to see the fab 5. You see Mickey, then Minnie, then Donald, etc.. all right in a row and the handlers push you through there pretty quickly) Did that make any sense?:confused3:thumbsup2

hey stephanie,
I like the rasberry too. I definitely agree that you want to keep the autograph book simple and easy to grab and open. Sometimes you will come across characters quickly so you dont want to be fumbling with paper. I used card stock, actually bought the size I needed something like a large index card. I put 2 holes in the top and actually tied it with ribbon to make it look cute. I put a cover that had stickers and my son's name. It worked out extremely well. Easy to carry, handle, and easy for the characters to use. Also another tip is to get a thicker sharpie pen that has the clicker...you know like a ball point pen. So you dont have to worry about loosing the cap. I also took 2 since we often misplace pens. That way there was always a back up. Hope this helps.

I would definitely go with the raspberry for Lilian!

Here is my opinion:

1. The lines for the characters would allow you time to get out the clipboard and find the card for that particular character put it on the front of the clipboard, etc. However, if you are planning on doing character meals, it could be harder to keep the cards in order without placing them on the table in a stack (or on the clipboard and having to switch the card after each character visits which could be quickly as they usually come in a row) and they may get ruined by condensation on the glasses, food on the tables, etc.

2. That being said, have you thought about doing something like making an autograph book at home on the computer or even purchasing one in the parks and then so you are still able to put the autograph with the picture, rip the pages out (I can't believe I just said that) and either scan them in and do what you originally were going to do OR rip the pages out and cut the signature out and put a piece of cardstock behind it with a border and put it on the page with the picture of the character and Lilian.

It all depends on what is more important to you, keeping the autograph pages preserved or making the scrapbook for Lilian. You could still make the pages in HER book for home personalized but just use the autograph book for the actual autographs. You could always go above and beyond and make a nice personalized autograph book (I know I've seen images of one's people here on the DIS have made) and copy the signatures as if you were copying them out of a book to put the autograph with the pictures.

I am envisioning this in my head right now so it is easy for me to understand what I am saying  but it may just be total confusion for you. Again, this is just my opinion. I know you'll figure it out, though, and you need to do what works for you! :)

I should have thought to post about it on my PTR early after I got the code. Then, anyone using Angela or another TA would be able to take advantage of the deal. :confused3 Did not think about that.

Thanks--I think I have settled on the Raspberry for Lilian's scrapbook. I think it will be really cute. I was caught up on whether or not it should be "Disney" colors. :goodvibes

Thank you for your suggestions Wendy! I believe I am going to use the three rings as it just seems easier. I will be starting that soon! :goodvibes

I would choose raspberry:goodvibes

Thanks Katie!

Hi Lindsay! I remember the ones you made from your PTR! :goodvibes I believe I will be making something similar to collect the signatures to transfer into her scrapbook when we get home. :thumbsup2

Thank you for your suggestions. I am going to take the signatures and put them into her scrapbook with pictures either from the PP or ones we take. I already knew I was going to make her a scrapbook--she loves to look through the many I have done prior. The signatures are going to be scanned in so I can use them in the big scrapbook too, that is the family scrapbook. The album I reference is her personal one which will be a combination of layouts with her character photos and signatures. Does that make any sense? :confused3 I know what I mean but I may not be explaining it well.

It is collecting the signatures and keeping them safe while we are down there is my main concern. I think I have settled on doing the bounded cards with jump rings with the chipboard covers and the book will go down in a ziplock bag to keep it safe. :thumbsup2

As I know many of my friends here on DIS are starting to pack for their upcoming trips, I am (and have been :lmao:) thinking of the packing list. In honor of this, another set of questions for you all:

What things are you most afraid of forgetting? What have you realized you have forgotten once you have gotten to Disney? What did you not pack because you did not think of it?

Thank you for answering my questions!!
