Where do you set up the Pack n Play or crib in a 1BR? I think our DD would sleep more soundly in a separate room, so I'm thinking of setting up the PnP in the living room. She goes to sleep between 8-9pm, so DH and I would need to hang out in the bedroom, which isn't so bad since there's a TV and whirlpool tub. Is there a DVD player in the bedroom, or just in the living room? I guess the downside is that we wouldn't be able to make much noise in the kitchen for late night snacks. We've never traveled with an infant...thoughts?

Some may think this is HORRIBLE, BUT when we went when DS was 19 months, we set up his pack and play in the closet, its a walk in closet, its right of the sink/big tub room which is right off the bedroom. This way we were able to hear him without a problem and he had his own room, it worked PERFECTLY.

My kids are now 3 and 7 and when we were there in january we threated that if they didtn stop fighting one of them would have to sleep there again :rotfl:

Actually that isnt a bad idea, it is definitely big enough. But their is plenty of room in the living room also. It is a decent size space that you would be able to make snacks with out waking them up. Remember they will be more tired them usual from all the excitement.

No their was only a dvd in living room. I had a portable to take on plane for my girls so I brought connector cords & hooked min up in bedroom worked great!!

Which resort? If you are at OKW, the laundry room makes a good bedroom for the PacNPlay.

We always put the pack and play near the window of the master bedroom. It leaves lots of room still. We shut the shutters to the jacuzzi, turn off the lights and pull the door to. At bedtime we brush our teeth at the sink furthest from the bedroom. We have never disturbed DD like this and we get to use the kitchen and living room all evening. I like having her sleeping near our bed in case she calls in the night, then I can reach right over and comfort her. (Not at home, only on vacation where she might be unsettled. At home she has her own room)

DD will be 3 in May so tomorrows trip at SSR will be the last time she can use the pack and play. I am pregnant too. so I guess next year new baby will be in the pack and play and DD will be in a ready bed or on the pull out. Once baby is too big for the pack and play I guess we will start staying in 2 beds.

Have a great trip. I bet your little one will sleep well- ours always has, the heat and excitement wears them out!

rkandmjsmommy- was the walk in closet at the BCV? we own at BWV, but are actually staying at BCV in april...and it sounds like that would work well. if we ask for a full size crib, would that also fit? (we've never stayed in a 1BR) thank you!!

It's been a while since dd1 was that age, so my memory may be flawed. But we have dd2 who's 6 mths old coming with us in March, so we're revisiting this situation...I think we put the pack n play in the bedroom, when she went to sleep around 8. Then, I think I remember the doors being wide enough to move the entire pack n play (with her in it) out to the family room when we were ready for bedtime around 10.

We've also had her in it in the laundry room, but if the baby's crying, sound tends to echo on the tile floors, so I don't remember that working so well for us.

Gosh it's amazing how much you forget about traveling with a baby once they're older! We've had to relearn everything!

I don't believe the closet in the master bath at BCV is big enough for a pack and play. At least the two units we had it was very small and were just able to hold our suitcase. The door also swung inward. I have heard BWV's closet is bigger.

Our first trip was with DD2 in the Pack and Play and DD7. They wanted to sleep together so the Pack and Play went between the couch and table (tight squeeze). For your situation I would decide where you and DH want to hang after DD is asleep and put her in the other room. I think after a day at Disney nothing will wake her up, so don't be too concerned about sleeping with her, and if she does wake up you will be able to calm her down quicker being right there.

The closet isn't big enough at BCV. When we stayed there we put in in the alcove by the front door, along with the white-noise machine to drown out any possible hallway sounds. Worked well for us and we were still able to use the kitchen area.

DS has slept in the pack n play in the one bedroom at 5 and 16 months. We put it next to the bed by the window in the master bedroom. This was out of the way but right next to us if he needed us in the night. I was nursing him at night at 5 months about twice so this was a convient spot. At 16 months he needed some comforting about being in a strange new location during the night for the first few nights (even though at home he sleeps straight through) so I was glad he was right beside the bed. You do have plenty of options with a one bedroom. :)
